      "The Hundred"

Has anyone heard of this group of humans called "the Hundred" on the astral plane? I have been essentially used as a mercenary for a similar group (not sure it was actually the Hundred) and have recently talked to a group of people who have also associated with this group. They apparently fight these creatures (some call them shapeshifters) which essentially are rich, evil creatures which can change their outer form. I myself have fought these creatures before and would like to know if anyone else knows about them or groups of humans united against them. Thanks.

      Personally I have not.

I have two ideas about things like this though,
There are either billions upon billions of factions on the dream/astral plane
      or
there are a small number of factions, and we all perceive them differently, making there appear to be more factions than really exist are.

though I've never spend more than a few seconds in astral, so my ideas are mostly based on the accounts of others, so take anything I say with a grain of salt.

How does one get to the astral plane?

I have been trying to AP for a while.

(Haven't had a long lucid in years though.. Like I lose lucidity in two seconds.)

My current view is that people make mistakes in applying their ideas about the physical world to the astral world. There are spirits, so to speak, which are to some degree objectively the same for different people. But where these spirits become experiences, they are modified by the spirits of the people having the experiences. Astral appearances depend strongly on the mindset of the person having the experience. My astral world has almost none of the violent video game quality that's commonly described on this site. My astral experiences aren't more or less real than anyone else's, but I think the fact that they're so different illustrates how personal a lot of this stuff is.

I think we're using the word astral in more than one way too. Using the dream-body vs astral-body nomenclature, a lot of this semi-collective lucid stuff is dream world, not astral. What I call astral is really, really different from a vivid lucid dream. But I also have experiences that don't seem to fall cleanly into either category.

      ^^ Thank you, Shadowofwind!

Though I have no experience (that I know of) on the astral planes -- and have little interest in finding out if they exist, especially as described here -- I was very disturbed by hearing that they are populated by tribal cabals bent on making money and fighting visitors to the planes. That simply does not make sense, on so many levels.

I think this projection of human attributes and expectations onto things that should in no way be human-like is called "theory of mind." Also, I shared the question of definition -- are these astral planes at all, or simply another form of dreaming? Whatever the case, you did an excellent job raising my question, and from a position of experience that makes more sense.
