Question Am I in a lucid dreamer prison?

For as long as I can remember, I had control of many of my dreams. I have recently found out that that is defined as being a "lucid dreamer".... I'm glad that I run across this site to maybe get some answers and to learn more.

Last night, I had a weird dream...I was in church for a while on this row with prophetess' and fortune tellers who said they only do it to pay the bills. They were giving "prophecies"...told one person that they were going to get a raise from their secretary job, told another woman something else and then told me something but I didn't here what she said because everyone was so loud. Afterwards, I asked her what she said and she said that I was a person that does well in small groups and I get nervous if I'm speaking to a large crowd (I didn't think that they said all of that last time but I didn't care that much). Anyways, I went to my friend's house and I wanted to create a car so that I could get around. So I created a car...a nice golden colored SUV...however, I'm not very good at controlling it yet so it backed up into a car and drove across the street. (need to figure that out) So, I decided to erase the car, which I did. I then looked up and there was a police SUV across the street. I wasn't sure where it came from so I tried to erase it....when I waved my hand to erase it, it didn't move but the back window lifted up and there was a guy there with a device in his hand looking at me. So, I went to the other room where my friend was and told him that I had to leave the dream because someone must know what I did.....I woke up but I didn't totally wake up as I was in my bed alone and I saw that guy at the edge of the bed...then I woke up woke up.
I went back to sleep and the dream was pretty normal...similar to the previous dream I had and of course I still knew that I was in a dream....the next thing I knew, I was in this room sitting down watching tv of my dream (for like 3 seconds). Kind of reminded me of when a tv show was going off....then the tv went fuzzy and a voice said, "911 what's your emergency"....I said I didn't call 911 and there is no emergency....then, I woke up but I wasn't trying to wake up.
I went back to sleep and things were normal again, I did decide to have my family close to me so I brought my Mom, Dad, Gam Gam and Nana....I think my siblings were there too and we were just talking....next thing I knew, I was in that same room again sitting down watching tv of my dream (only 3 seconds again)...again, the tv went fuzzy and this voice came on and said "You called 911 ten minutes ago, what's your emergency". Once again I tried to ask who it was and what was going on and found myself waking up again but not because I was trying to wake up...
After that, I decided NOT to go back to sleep again as I was starting to get annoyed. LOL.
I've heard other people have this same thing happen to them. Usually, these police apparently have "greater power" than the lucid dreamer. If you are found to be doing a lot of things that are bad, they come and arrest you. It appears that I may have been arrested and I'm stuck in this "room".... I know some people mentioned being on a bed and not being able to move. I haven't had a chance to really look at what this room is or if I'm stuck as it seems like me being in that room makes me wake up....any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Your level of control in a dream corresponds directly to your beliefs about your level of control. This is especially evident with certain characters. If we perhaps feel intimidated by a particular person or group of people, then when encountering them in a dream they'll rarely be under our control and can often present problems for us when we become lucid, if we can't get around those beliefs.

Anyway it sounds to me based on your post like you've been lucid dreaming naturally, but without any of the techniques or information to back it up - so in other words you're able to control dreams normally but you haven't yet learned how to get around situations like this. This sounds to me like a simple case of a recurring dream, and waking up from the dream is a stability issue rather than anything else. Look at dream stabilisation techniques, like looking at your hands, rubbing your hands together, spinning in circles, touching things, or just being very still and quiet - as ways to keep your dream stable and stop yourself from waking.

As for the dream re-occurring, it all happened in one night, so that's completely normal. If we go back to sleep right after a dream ends, we're actually normally just continuing parts of that dream from where they left off - and while we might appear somewhere different, or with different dream characters, the over-arching theme of the dream usually stays the same. So having the same "911" part of your dreams is pretty normal.

If you end up having it again after 1 night, then that's when it's a touch unusual, but even then, a re-occurring dream is usually the result of something there nagging in your subconscious that needs addressing. How do you feel about Emergency Services? What do they represent to you? Answer that and you might get a clue as to why this theme is happening over multiple times.

A few years ago on this site there was much discussion of 'dream police'. The several competing philosophies about lucid dreams had correspondingly different ideas about the police:

      1. Some people believed that lucid dreams are entirely a matter of imagination, in other words, what you see when you dream is what you pretend, influenced by your thoughts about your waking life memories. These people might tend to view police as being personal psychological obstacles to be overcome, usually by technique or force of will.
      2. Others believed that lucid dream worlds are objectively and collectively real, and that the police are real. Many of these people viewed the police as a restriction on their personal freedom, to be overcome by dream violence.
      3. Others saw dreams more as metaphors for deeper psychological realities, personal and/or collective. The experience of the 'police' is mostly determined by who you are and what you're dealing with.

I have never encountered police in dreams, but then I'm never trying to get away with anything in a dream either. If I did have a dream experience like yours, I'd approach it head on, and ask the police for clarification on what they want. For me, this would generally result in a different dream metaphor that explains the underlying experience better. The interest in exposing what's behind the dream tends to prevent it from repeating.

Thank you. Haven't had the dream like that again but I've been trying to see if I can find anything in my natural life that it could relate to.

I'm far to make conclusive statement, but as far as my experiences go, there is no active dream police. I can dream about policemen, prison and other things, but they are ineffectual to do something to lucid dreamer. If lucid dreamer has strong lucidity. There are lucid dreamers who have relatively small lucidity, barely able to know they are dreaming... and they can be trapped by their own imaginations.
I recommend WILD techniques, lucidity is much stronger by using WILD than by using other methods.
