Doing astral travel, (OBE)

Dear friends Nick Newport is emailing answers to questions posed by people who are practicing his Lucidology 101, 102, 103, and Oversoul Contact. I emailed Nick to ask him if I could share his work with my friends on Dreamviews. On the 31st March he said: Hi Debra Sure, as long as you're paraphrasing in you're own words that's great! I seem to recall that the people at Dreamviews don't really like the Lucidology methods? (I don't know if that matters or not). Thanks, Nick. Nick Mmmmmmm I'm not sure if the very informative Q&A emails are the public Newsletter. I hope it is. But I will have to double check before I copy and paste from it. I hope that, as I share on Dreamviews what I'm learng from Nick, I will begin to leave my body consciously and do "verifiable" astral travel, (OBEs).

Moved to Beyond Dreaming. Sounds interesting, debrajane. Have you had an OBE or astral projection before? Personally I believe they are different. Please do share your experiences, if any!

Thank you fOrcees I didn't know where to put this. I like the Beyond Dreaming section So thanks for taking it from Attaining Lucidity and putting it here in my favorit place, Beyond Dreaming. I dream a lot but I have never considered astral travel, (OBE) dreaming. I started trying to astral travel as a ten year old when mum got hooked on Lobsang Ramper, (in 1970). Mum got the ocasional thingy but not me. When I was 12 I had a few interesting dreams where I was with a older, quiet, male. And just as I was about to run off and enjoy playing in a park with swings and roundabouts and slides and such, he would touch me and it would really hurt. He wanted to keep me lucid cos I had asked him to help me stay awake in my dream. At twelve I knew that if I ran off to enjoy myself I would lose awakeness and wind up just dreaming. Another interesting phenomenon that I had back then was re-entry experiences. Lobsang wrote that folk astral travel EVERYTIME they slept. He wrote that the forgetting happened during re-entry. He strongly advised that folks practice great patience. He said that once you become aware that you are out-of-body, that you resist the great temptation of enjoying your freedom, and gently and patiently return to your body. He said that when you are back in your bedroom and looking at your body, slowly, gently and smoothly hover above your body, lining-up your astral body's arms and legs with your phisical body's arms and legs. Then when you are sure you are aligned, slowly re-enter. If there is the mildest shock, then the memory of the real astral journey will be wiped from the physical bodies memory banks leaving only a peculiar dream. Well I did have some interesting re-entry experiences but nothing else. Clearly, when I am free I am like an excited and unruly infant. I just want to ENJOY. I stay out as long as I can and I don't come back volentarily. My body has to insist by reeling me in with my silver-cord. Then I crash into my body, obliterating the memory of the true OBE and leaving only a dream. I did almost complete a full OBE when I was 35 but as I was walking home, I met two doggies who held me up, and I woke before I managed to walk all the way home to do a proper re-entry.

Lucidology 103 has some great new techniques to achieve OBE's from a waking state. They are more advanced than Lucidology 101 and 102 in the sense that they make having OBE's easier than before. Also he has made an important discovery about our non-physical eyes. It seems the man spends most of his spare time researching new methods to have OBE's and lucid dreams.

Obviously no need to now Often when I have an OBE I have astral blindness and I know how to overcome it but often the OBE's can be dark, dreary and short lived. With Nick's new discoveries I am armed with the techniques I need to have super awesome OBE's

Dear Dreamview's Friends I got this Q&A Newsletter Email from Nick. Here is the best bit: Question: "A few years ago I had a couple random OBEs by pure luck, now I'm wondering what I can do to have more?" Nick's reply "Its great that people are developing more and more of an interest in OBEs and it's even better that some already have some experience with them so they know what to expect. If you've had some uncontrolled OBEs before, those are really your biggest assets when it comes to having more. However, the key to leveraging them is to give-up on the idea that they happened "randomly" or because of "luck." {Oops Star Treck is starting on TV. These factors include: 1). How hot or cold was it in the room? 2). What time of day? 3). How long since your last meal? 4). What was your last meal? 5). How long had you been asleep? 6). What time did you get to bed? 7). How tired were you? 8). How much time did you spend outside getting sunlight the previous day? 9). How many times had you woken-up and fallen asleep before then? 10). Had you slept totally soundly or were you sleeping restlessly? 11). Were there any noises or distractions in the room? 12). Nick continues: In Lucidology 101 I talk about how it's important to do OBEs in the early morning because your hormones and general body chemistry are optimized for lucidity then. (The absolute worst time to have OBEs is when you go to bed at night, also due to body chemistry.) All of the factors above effect your body's chemistry and your ability to relax and then become alert in your subconscious. In order to eliminate the "luck" factor you have to carefully reconstruct every tiny detail all over again the next time you do an OBE. So this is the 2nd biggest mistake people make: Thinking that an OBE was because of "luck" and that there's nothing to be learned from it. There is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS something to be learned about every OBE !!! {a bit more}

4th and last bit of Q1 Therefore, always repeat the scenarios surrounding your successes.!! There is always some combination of factors that build-up to a positive result. Keep notes and no matter how strange the situation may have been, if eating pineapple pizza ended-up giving you an OBE later- on, eating pineapple pizza just might do the trick again.
