      Did I have an OBE?

I went to sleep after reading up on some techniques for Astral Projecting. I counted from 300 to 1 without any sound or thoughts while still awake. I had my eyes closed than I felt this tingly sensation move from my head to my feet several times. BTW OBE and Astral Projection are the same thing right?

I don't consider them the same. As for the vibrations, that is the feeling most of us have just before one or AP.

Sounds like you were getting close. Keep it up! I also experience the two as distinct phenomenon.

By definition an astral projection means moving your consciousness into the astral plane. An out-of-body-experience, however, does not need to be into the astral plane. It could be into any number of other planes also. And - if there is any reality to these phenomena at all - an OBE will most likely be into the socalled "etheric plane" (traditional esoteric name), which is what some people call the "real-time zone". This, according to tradition, is the plane closest to the physical.
So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

I guess it was a OBE then... Btw I heard you have to go through Sleep Paralysis to even do OBE or AP? Is that true and how do I separate from the body?

I wouldn't say that it's "true" but many people take that route.

I agree with cvd. I don't usually get vibrations too strong or paralysis other than what comes with deep relaxation/ meditation. For me its important to stay awake so I can enjoy and absorb the experience, but I practice AT not what most would call Kobe.

Sleep Paralysis (SP) is the same thing as REM Atonia, which is when the brain releases a chemical in your brain at the onset of REM that paralyzes your muscles so you don't act out your dreams. REM Atonia and SP are the same thing but they are given different labels according to the time they occur. REM Atonia is called SP when the brain releases this chemical during other sleep stages that are NONRem like stages 1-4. When REM Atonia occurs, you may feel a vibrations run from the top of your body to the bottom if you are aware while it is occuring which most often occurs during W.I.L.D's (Wake Induced Lucid Dreams) or if you believe in OBE's (Out of body experiences) then during OBE's. OBE's and WILDs are also the same thing. If you believe in OBE's then you would term a WILD as an OBE or if you believe in only lucid dreaming then you would term the experience that feels like an OBE as WILD. Now, it's very possible that W.I.L.D's are OBE's, ya never know. Just because the onset of REM can be read on an EEG through brain signals does not mean that OBE's are not real. If you are skeptic you are most likely to use scientific terms to describe things that may very well be metaphysical as well. Remember the body, mind, and spirit connection. What the spirit and mind does, the body feels it. We are not disconnected from the body until death.

WILD is LD not AP, I experienced a bunch of WILD and in every one of them things were not the same as real world, something was missing or something was there, which really wasn't there

Deep relaxation feels somewhat similar to sleep paralysis to me...

Mekevin255, Kadie: How do you feel difference between OBE and AP? I tend to say: I do OBE to astral dimension. I do OBE to mental dimension... Since dimensions are intertwined... Astral dimension is physical dimension(4D) + one additional dimension. In higher dimension I can't see 4th and 5th dimension... But I can feel sometimes timestream. I think, to travel in time one must try to manipulate timestream... through interaction with the feeling of it. It is not so simple to learn to have control about something completely strange.
