Post 1 of orginal 2005 thread

THE Target revealed on 20-July-2005 was this:

      ***

      Forum code:*

      ***

      The competition began on 8-July-2005.

The Host was Nick Newport. In Post one he gives lots of tips on how to try this:

      Nick Newport

I've placed an object in a box and labeled it
      'Saltcube Remote Viewing Experiment 2'

On the 16th I will post to this thread what it is.

The goal is for people to intuit what the object is. Anyone may try, just post what you think it is to this thread.

      Tips

The real purpose of this game is to find out effective methods to RV, so watch not only for what you intuit but how you intuit as well so that you can fine tune yourself over time.

Post everything you do and detect. Rather than simply stating " the object is a XXX " describe the setting you find the object in, its qualities and so forth. Also note your physical setting, did you lay down? Was it an OBE? What time of day? Post anything that seems to be relevant.

      Suggested Method For Intuiting

The basic idea is give yourself the intention to collect information about the object and then record all the information that comes to you [ b] without evaluating it in any way [/b]. Only after you've collected object data do you perform a subjective evaluation of the data.

You don't want to do these two operations at the same time because this can result in a chaotic feedback loop.

Bruce Moen calls this finding a balance between your Interpreter and [/b] Perceiver [/b].

      For example, try this:

      1) - Lay down (this is a body mnemonic to start using more right brain than left).

      2) - State "I'm collecting information about the object's color for 15 seconds starting now".

      3) - Don't actively think about colors, but listen/feel for a feeling of what colors are there. Write these down without evaluating them. If you only get one color then that's what you get. Some objects have only one color, some have hundreds of colors.

      4) - Repeat this process for other qualities:

      How hard/soft?

How cold/warm? (metal feels cooler than wood)

      Dense or airy?

      Rough or smooth?

      Bendable or rigid?

Some qualities appear to conflict such as " hard " and " soft ", however many objects have both hard and soft aspects (such as felt-tip pens).

      5) - After your data has been collected, draw an quick sketch of the shapes the object appears to have. Feel:

      Points
      90º angles,
      Rounded curves,
      Pivots,
      spirals,
      hollowed areas,
      flat planes,
      cones, etc.

      6) - You may want to do the above process once a day for a few days to get an idea for what feels right for this object before actually committing to deciding what it is.

7 - Make your Anchor List

Once you have a data set that feels pretty solid, look at the attributes you've listed and pick out the ones that really feel like they're correct. Throw the rest out. This is the most important step, your Anchor List is what I am most interested in people posting.

8 - Finally, look at your list and make a guess as to what it is. This step is not so important. The object may be a pair of black wire cutters with red rubber handles.

If your Anchor List is "red", "black", " hard ", " soft", then you're 100 % on the money and so your intuitive skills are well developed. You may not be able to make the connection to " wire cutters " from your Anchor List but that's not so important because anything that increases a person's intuitive sense is useful.

The real value of this experiment is to gradually develop your intuitive skills, so it's much more important to get good at making an Anchor List than it is to guess the actual object.

For instance you may be better at detecting texture than color,

      But

you wouldn't discover that about yourself if you only guess that it's a shoe or something since shoes come in many colors and textures.

Suggested Method For Detecting While Out Of Body

Once you're out of body and have enough coherence that you are aware you're out of body and that you know your physical body is in bed, you can either collect attributes using the method given above in the " Suggested Method For Intuiting " section or you can do the following :

      1) - Give the intention to teleport to the box containing the object. When you teleport your surroundings should quickly dissolve and new surroundings take their place. It's more a feeling that the world has shifted than that you have shifted.

      2) - Begin stating out loud to yourself everything that you're doing in order to remain as objective as possible. Deliberately talking at each step tends to slow you down a bit and keep things focused.

      3) - Open the box and look at the attributes of what you see in the box. Do you

      See red?
      Blue?
      Does it feel hard?
      Sticky?
      How does it smell?

      4) - As soon as you've gotten 5 or so solid attributes, end the OBE while you're fresh. Don't try to get greedy and get more stuff than you can remember, 7 attributes is the max. Get up and write down or post exactly what you did and what you saw.

      Good luck!

It is something inside the box. I can see the dark empty space of the box.

The thing is square with a round part.

Some kind of device. A dice or game piece? A game of chance. Ivory colored, solid item about 3 inches tall.

I didn't post to the first one but before I saw the answer posted, a red apple kept coming at me. That was wrong now that the answer has been posted, but I still see a red apple - which is silly because an apple is perishable in this heat. I'm sure it wasn't his choice.

Great to see so many people participating in the experiment.

I was wondering if you could describe your various ways of trying to remote view the target and submit it along with your guesses.

I'm kind of curious if you see it in OBEs, Lucid dreams, ect.

I did as I usually do when going inside myself. I close my eyes in a quiet spot and " flip inside ".

I visualized the box, looking at it from all aspects. It appeared to be equal on all sides but this might have been because I have been dealing with boxes like that lately.

My immediate flash was of yellow. And though I tried to refocus and try from another angle, yellow is what I was getting, .. though maybe cream might be a better word.

And the shape seemed like a comma, which seemed odd to me.

Thinking about it I want to say like a banana but like the apple idea... not logical.

And really ... no not a banana... big on one end, kind of rounded and fat... narrowing on the other. Perhaps even flat on the side it is resting on.

OK, I cannot think what this would be in real life so, I assume I am a dismal failure at this.

I do have precognitive dreams, had one of the London terror attack...was very disturbing.

      Wow Dreamviewers

How close was that? Here's the target so you can check out Participant 6's rv atempt:

      Nick,

This time open the box - we can't remote view something if it's hidden where we can't see it.

I also think many of us were thrown off last time because of the shelves and books in the room.

This is a good way to practice tho

I summarized my answer because I thought my post would become long-winded but here goes...

I can't really explain how I came across my answer. Usually I stop, blank everything out of my head, then go with the first thing that pops into my mind; If I change it, then the answer most times is wrong.

It's kind of like turning off the TV then turning it back on and seeing the first thing that pops on the screen.

In this contest I'm sure I'm not right - and that's not being pessimistic, it's being truthful.

I believe that everyone has ESP to some degree. And that some are stronger in other areas.

Tele - anything is not my strongpoint.

I'm strong with precognitive dreams and have had a couple of day ones that came true.

      Also I have been pretty good with auras;

However, I believe that you are meant to be strong only in or a few areas no matter how much you want to be stronger in other areas.

Those other areas may peek through you every-once-in-a-while, but they are not meant for you to master.

I'm not trying to be negative or say that somebody can't do something - there may well be quite a few people out there who have mastered more than a few areas or have at least some kind of limited success in them. What I stated was just meant in general and I think I'm part of that general populace... I can't be any stronger in any other area.

Doesn’t stop me from enjoying trying though

Oh, and this is a fun contest too!

It shouldn't really matter if it's in a box, after all it's inside a building and you don't need to imagine entering the building first in order to get to the box.

It might be better to forget about the box and just draw from the idea of 'Saltcube Remote Viewing Experiment 2'.

It's great to be getting a lot of attention in this experiment!

      A few things:

      1) - It's okay to post several times. If you Remote View it a few times over the course of the week go ahead and post what you get each time.

      2) - Some people have posted what they think it is without saying what attributes they think the object has.

This sort of defeats the purpose of the experiment which is to gradually develop your intuitive skills.

You may be better at detecting texture than color,

      But

You would not discover that about yourself if you only guess that it's a shoe or something since shoes come in many colors and textures.

Post the object's attributes, don't worry so much about what it is.

This makes a lot of sense - had to hit myself in the head with a brick to finally catch it. Since I keep seeing an apple, I'll refine my guess ti something red, smooth, and round (could be a ball, right? )

      No,

after a couple of troll/ spammer/hackers hammered Nick Newport's site Saltcube the experiments stopped. Nick Newport did 35 then Eyeoneblack did 48.

I am happy that WakingNomad is reviving the tradition here on Dreamviews. And thank you, WhiteWind, for patticipating.

Like most of you already know it is a bit hard to focus on numbers in altered states and therefore the title 'Saltcube Remote Viewing Experiment 2' is difficult to use as a target.

It might be an idea if you, Nick, could take a picture of the cardboard box and post it on Saltcube.

This would make it an ideal target for people that rely on visualizing stuff.

Of course you should do it in a way so the picture only reveals the box itself and nothing else.

      Furthermore

To make the box unique you could draw a simple and distinct symbol and Stick it to the box. For those of us that use altered states as a means of remote viewing it would become a great help since we would be able to detect whenever an experience is related to the experiment by looking for the cardboard box with the unique symbol.

      Original 14th post of 2005 target 2

In most of the RV training protocols I'v read, the Remote Viewer is given a nonsense key such as 31209-d2 which corresponds to a labeled envelope with has a picture of the object.

So, it shouldn't matter if the key is numeric since the Remote Viewer isn't Remote Viewing the key, they're RVing the object which is not numeric.*

However, I've put this symbol on the box:**

      ***

      Forum code:*

      ***

I am hoping to avoid cases where people get caught up in thinking about what the object is and concentrating on the symbol, I don't think that will work.

I'm pretty sure that it's mostly a matter of giving a clear intention and then just streaming out whatever ideas you get without concentrating on anything.

I believe it is best to allow people to do what comes naturally. Don't set so many rules. You will block peoples flow.

I think it is a white feather, or something with feathers in it or on it, maybe a pillow with feahters inside, a badmiton "birdie", perhaps a "dreamcatcher", or other feathered decorative or art object such as a mask.*

If not feathers, then something fluffy and white: gym socks, a t-shirt with a bird (?) image on it, slippers, key chain with feathered decoartion or ???*

I got the image of the feather right away. As re the descriptions of the former experiment, hmmm. Most people have windows and books in their environments.

      Nick,

you have to understand that we are not doing conventional RV.

Some of us are trying to use our experiences with OBEs, astral travel, visions etc to see if we can remote view with them.

Thats why I wanted the pic and the symbol so I could recognise when Im having experiences that is related to the experiment.*Im not sure that we can do with the symbol alone. I speculate that this symbol also exist in various of other places and therefore we now have multiple targets.*

The symbol combined with a picture of the cardboard box would make the target unique.

It's a brown cardboard box with a piece of paper taped to it with that symbol and 'Saltcube Remote Viewing Experiment 2' written on it and a single object inside.

      That surely makes it unique.

I just returned from an experience where I found a red key chain. It was just a little one that you could have all sorts of things in. The locking mechanism was made of plastic I think and the rest was some rope like material.*

In the experience I knew that it belonged to one of my friends that also appeared in the experience.

There was this lady telling another lady that she would bet that I could point out to them the owner of this key chain.*

However the experience took place in a strange enviroment and there was no signs that it was related to our RVing experiment so I thought nothing of it.

Now that you mention that your thought it could be a key chain I thought we might have experienced the same. I will continue my search.

      Ok

There is a couple of people who want to try dream remote viewing with a real physical object. They are not on-line and don't even have a email. So, I thought that while I'm setting one up for them I may as well put it online in case you want to try, too.

This is week 46 of 2014.

I will post a photo of object in 7even days.

The object is behind this envelope:

In case the link doesn't work I just wrote 2014 week 46 on a plain envelope

WhiteWind Wow, I just realized something.

I contacted Nick Newport a couple of weeks ago. I offered to donate. He answered, intuitively understanding why I made the offer and assured me that he will keep Saltcube open. Then he made this a post on Saltcube.

      10th August 2015

It does look like the forum went dormant. I have not been keeping tabs on it like I should have.

Feel free to give your forum invite code to whoever you like and you can use the forum to discuss your LD progress.

I am in the process of making new Lucidology courses which should also bring posters back to the forum, but this will take a while.
It is 10pm Thursday 20-Aug-2015 now, and out-of-the-blue I got this thought.

I can invite people who want to try remote viewing or even dream-remote-viewing onto Saltcube.

From the above post, got Nicks permission to give someone one of my 5 registrations, (forum invite codes). I never asked for permission. He just gave an open invitation on Saltcube.

Nothing is happening on Saltcube at the moment but we can change that. We might be able to invite Nick to put some targets in that old Saltcube rv box (maybe). Look at post #13 to see Nick's rv box.

Saltcube is private now because folk (normally) have to buy a product to get a "forum invite code" to post on the Saltcube forum.

      so,

There will be no people posting on Saltcube who are not the least bit interested in LD or OBE or related activities like; remote viewing and its off-shoots like; dream telepathy and precognitive dreams and waking-life synchronicities.

      But

People who have "forum invite codes" like me, can give them away to friends.

Then we can get serious experiments off and running.

      Any one interested
