Dreamwalking is entering others dreams, has anyone ever tried this? (And my apologies if there is another topic about this)

yes. I've never tried it but a friend of mine is a dreamwalker.

to dreamwalk you dream that you are standing on a bridge, and on the other side is the persons's dream you want to enter. it's better if both of you set up a dreamwalk.

I'm willing to try it out!

I was wondering what the term was... I always called it Dream Invasion, just because it sounded so much cooler

There is already a topic on this. Dream invasion is one thing I have a problem with, it could probably cause emotional damage to someone especially someone who isn't in the lucid dream community.

I have a friend who requested that I try this to her once I can because she just finds it much to difficult to teach herself lucid dreaming. If you were to enter someone's mind and help them realize their dreaming, or to teach them something or possibly help them with something they cant do, I dont think it would hurt them, if you started messing with it... thats something else. If you used it to scare the person, or alter their dreams and not let them realize they are dreaming, thats different. Yes, that can be dangerous to the persons mind and emotions. If you use it to help them, I think that'd be a benifit to them would it not?

Thats a good point, perhaps if you don't do it regularly. I guess it could have its consequences if not used responsibly, which is why people with this ability should be very careful.

What idiot decided to call Dream Sharing "walking".

      Walking is walking.

We should keep the New Age Fairies out of here and retain some control over our terminologies or we will all lose credibility.

Or perhaps we could all get together to see if we could get a wholesale deal on a gross of T-Shirts that say "I'm Just Another New Age Retard".

First off, I want to note that Dream Walking is kind of new-ageish for me too, but I'm not too hard on terminology use unless it's in a formal text of some kind. The bridge thing is just one method, you can also try tearing the dreamscape open into a portal, or simply making the dreamscape change into the target's dreamscape before your eyes. Seems somehow more practical on the latter, as it escapes all the crutches of manifesting something to walk across or through.

I've had some very successful experiments. I personally believe it to be a possibility. I've never found it to cause damage, but I can see where it might if you were to try and impress your power over their world. If you're there to help them with anything, teach them to help themselves rather than allowing them to become dependant. It works quite well in a dream, since you can surpass problems like verbal or written speech mucking up your ability to communicate a subjective concept. Hope that helps in some way.

really who cares what you call it. this section in general is filled with "new Age". i agree "new Age" is kinda gay. but how else would you describe it.

I for one would want a dreamwalker to help me with my dreams.

I would love to dreamwalk once I get experienced at remembering my dreams and becoming Lucid. However, I wouldn't mess with them, I would watch through them and only let the people who have those dreams do as they wish with them.

Isnt there a difference between dream sharing and dream walking? Dream sharing both parties are in a dream world and recognize it, while dream walking (Or Maybe Im thinking of what I always called "Dream Invading") your more entering another person's dream against their will, weather you help or not is up to you I guess.

Being a "New Age Retard" myself (do enjoy your posts thoroughly, leo), I have to say that I think what a dreamwalker does is a little different to "garden variety" shared dreaming.

To my humble understanding, what we would call "shared dreaming", in the case of a dreamwalker, is in fact a mild form of posession.

This gives them the ability to not only enter your dream, but also to literally yank you out of it and into a dream that he or she has created. Even if you are lucid when this happens, you'll have little or no dream control from that point, unless the dreamwalker allows it.

This would be creepy, except for the fact that the posession part is apparently a bit tricky for them unless you're happy to let them in or you've made a prior agreement about it.

      Now how about that T-shirt?

It is supposed to be used to help people (rather than freak them out).

One of the things a dreamwalker can help you with is attaining lucidity and practising control in your dreams. The dreamwalker pulls you out of your regular dream and into their lucid dream. Your dream environment now remains constant, there's nothing to distract you and you have someone to "show you the ropes", as it were.

This is probably not as easy as it sounds, but its a great idea!

well, I don't know, but if coining a phrase is a sign of idiocy then the inventor of the term "dream sharing" is an idiot, too.

I think I had a dream walked into by a former girl-friend of mine... she taught me how to fly in that dream. It was pretty cool as she announced she would do it in the days before.

Of course, this is only an indication, not a solid proof. You would have to have both dreamers report on their dreams and compare results.

when i was a child i believed aaaall those stuff and, not knowing what LD was, i was a little too much self reliant (i was sort of a pre-teneeger with onnipotence delirium). So once i was sleeping with a schoolmate i tried to give a look in her dreams, but i didn't succeed. The way my brain told me i was doing bs was anyway fun. I just remained outside of an enourmous coliseum-like wall stiffed with grey stuff (i think that's how my brain imagined a brain). no bridges anyway.
