there is also time bending/space bending. The technology or ability to freeze time for you to reach a destination or do something. I dont know much about it though.

Google "Space bending". There's quite a few. Then google "Time bending". Theres more, one even has a formula for it i think. It has to do with dark matter, and being able to create a black hole. So google creating black holes or something. Sorry, there's just too many sites to give you just one link.

Forgot to mention, its more of a technology than a mental thing.

Oh i see, so its not anything like AP or LD, you have to kinda do it when your awake and without using the special features your body has. i see now. That is very kool i will google some.

Heck what i would do is get the national pushup record or win some crazy motocross races. Or maybe go in to the olympics and beat everyone out. The possibiltys are endless eh.

      Wait One Minute!

DOES NO ONE HERE REALISE THAT TIME IS REALITIVE??? I'm really, really suprised! EVERYONE knows that the faster you get to the speed of light, the faster you travel through time! If you were to travel to the sun and back at half the speed of light, you may come back hundreds, or thousands of years into the future! Please tell me I'm not the only one that knows that...

Have any of you ever read anything about moving so fast, that time kinda slows down for you? So you think your going slow, but in reality your going super fast? And everyone and everything around you starts to move really slow?

I find it intriguing to say the least.

Im sure everyone who has read a little bit knows that we travel in the 4th demension, but we can only travel in one direction of it. We cant use the whole 4th demension, as we only move forward in time, and not backward in time, or stopping time completley.

Maybe if we could go back in time one second, and forward in time for one second, and keep switching out, backward forward, but geez i dont even know if its possible.

Just kind of something to think about, if one person really could slow down time, it would be very cool. You could do anything pretty much.

      Any other opinions?

The reason why time slows down for people goin' really fast in movies, is because in reality, time slows down when you go really fast. Time travel, in theory, has been possible for many, many, many years, but only back in time. What you need to do, is just get moving faster than the speed of light, which is very possible if you have access to your local black hole. Black holes have a gravity SO INTENSE that they actually bend space. In those kind of conditions, it's possible to actually move faster than the speed of light (Atleast realitive to the rest of the universe) as you would technically be moving slower than the sleep of light, but within space that's moving aswell. I guess it's be like throwing a ball fro the back of a moving car. The ball is only moving so fast in relation to the car, but faster than that, considering the car is moving forward aswell. I think they're actaully building a time machine now, but instead of a black hole, they're trying to use really, really, really strong lazer beams to bend space into a loop. Then, that also brings in the theory of alternate dimensions, but that's a story for another time... I'm actually really suprised that I'm amoung the first to mention this in this thread!

I experience time slowing down all the time. Well... you could say that. It is actually my reaction speed doubling and therefore giving the feeling that time is slowing down for everything but me. I do parkour and martial arts so I need this. I think the adrenalin that you get from doing this stuff raises your reaction speed and heart rate etc... Just try it. Jump of a 4 metre ledge with a stop watch and count how many seconds it takes to hit the ground. Then look at the stop watch. There should be at least a 1 second difference. This also happens when you sprint or run for your life.

Actually, going the speed of light is impossible. You will quite literally turn into a black hole. Energy = Mass X (Speed of light) squared. When you move faster, you gain kinetic energy, thus increasing your mass. The mass must increase because the speed of light can't. The heavier something is, the harder it is to speed it up and the more gravity it has. Since gravity bends space, moving the speed of light will bend it so much, you will have the equivalent gravity of a black hole. Also, going into a black hole will result in instant death. If you were able to stand on a black hole and live, an infinite number of eternities would pass in the smallest amount of time possible. Though the onlookers would just see you stationary. If you want more information, your gonna have to reply cause I am all tired now. This stuff is rather simple when you look at it. Also, if you went 1 million killometres an hour, time would only slow down about 1 microsecond.

The light's "atoms" are not like ours, and dont have mass (or they didnt have something else..) and i dont think that is posible for us to get the speed. First we must build something that is faster than light. (cuz when we enter in this "ship" we will slow him down, and the whole fuel and evrything in it for that mather)..

Ya, i think the human body moving at the speed of light would be incredibally hard to do.. heh.. heh.. if only.

Anyway though, is there anyway to slow down time by using your mind to do so? Ive always understood time to be relative, but still somehow it would have to be possible, like Fordy said, when you fall down a cliff and count, i can see how it would be very different. Its the same when your going around a track on a dirtbike, the faster you go, if you count in your head the amount of seconds, you will be off by more and more.

guys, if you go faster than light you will become a black hole. Your own gravity will smoosh you into a singularity. Also, light is made of photons. Little waves of energy. Quite different to matter.

      I agree with this.

I also am in belief that if your mind thinks faster, it percieves the world slower then normal, and so time is slowed down, is this true?

      That's a contradiction in itself.

Just think about how you phrased it: "the mind thinks faster and thus percieves the world slower".

If the mind thinks faster, it has on need to percieve anything slower. See my point?

If you move faster with faster reaction speed, your senses won't be accepting data slower, they'll be accepting it faster but you'll merely have the mental capacity to analyse it at high speed so it'll be normal to you. Right now, normal is your regular state and speed. But with heightened abilities, the concept of what is normal (acceptable) changes as well.

Ahh i see i see. So basicly, if you get your mind to think alot faster and your reaction speed increases increddibally, everything around you will seem normal, but to other people it isnt normal?

So everybody percieves everything at different speeds? But everyone also thinks its normal?

Time travel IS possible, and traveling the speed of light is possible with a black hole aswell, and here is my proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRWwI...elated&search=

Wow awesomeoclock, that is really cool. I want to know though, how did they think of the fact of using lasers? Is heat that important to time travel?

Even if it is possible, there is a big chance that this is already being done, but its a secret. For example - USA (they have lot of resoursec thats why i picked them) is trieing to do this, and they succeed - do you think that they will tell the sociaty. Who nows what risks are there or how many fuckers will atack them cuz they want to go to the past and save their soon died mother for example. This will be secret for like.. forever.

Ya no doubt, if EVERYONE in the world had the power to travel back to the past, then the future would be changed so many times that it would be unlivable for us. Kinda creepy.

Surely, this slowing down of time is not breaking our laws of the 4th dimension. We are still moving forward but just slower. It may, therefore, be possible.
(I have no idea if this has been said as I haven't read any of the posts.)

REMINDS ME OF A LIMMERICK I KNOW:
There once was a girl called Miss Bright,
Who speed was far faster than light. <----- IMPOSSIBLE, I KNOW
      She walked through the wood,
      As fast as she could,
And arrived home the previous night.

      That's amazing. Except ...
/me wonders if this will be a retarded question
... how do you get something to "ride" the laser beam spiral (as in the coffee bean "riding" the current caused by the spoon in the coffee)?
      Stupid question?

Very good question imo, but ya how do you get that? do you just drop downt he center and hope for good will or do the lasers carry you around in that spiral? Weird man... Weird

Just guessing, but I think the object, whatever it would be, would have to be fired in at a certan angle.

Holy crap, i will check it out after i get done with my movie. Thanks Supder Duck.

And i have another note, if flys (the buggs) can make things move slower because of them having so many eyes, well can that kind of be integrated into us so we can see that slow?

      OMG think of the possibilities....

You could perform experiments and send the results back in time without ever having the experiments come to pass!

Imagine being able to perform MASSIVE experiments that require vast amounts of resources without ever having to use the reagents. But the only problem is...how would you determine "when" we find the "particles" sent back come out?

One individual could spend his lifetime creating thousands of different items for function...technology would sky rocket to massive proportions...the only limitation would be how long we take to interpret data.
