Thread: What are the dangers while in the AP?

I just read a post that said:

"Remember before practicing any Astral Projection technique, to fully understand the dangers of the Planes. You can be seriously injured or even worse if not careful, a fate worse then death for sure. Such things such as Night Stalkers and Succumbi can be a real pain in the neck if your not careful to avoid them."


How do you avoid things like this and what can it do to you if you don't?

Don't worry. Those kind of things cannot harm you physically.

to answer your question...the person who wrote that is not a figure head for astral projection.

I been reasearching astral projection and there are two aurguments

astral projection is dangerous

astral projection is just as dangerous as sleeping

You won't know until you experience these things.

My opinion is that astral projection is fine to do...i don't know if your actually soul traveling...i've never confirmed that...but i will tell you that you really can see out of your body. Weather or not it's real i have not found out yet.

I personaly believe that your thoughts manifest themselves on the astral plane...So if you think "I'm going to get attacked by a demon"

you will.

But if your just in a zen like state you will be fine.

by the way how would one know if a person died APing.
Last time I checked the dead don't come back and tell you how they died
(Note: There are exceptions)

I don't know whose qualified enough to answer your question. I think a person who should answer your question should be very knowledgeable about the Astral Planes, what creatures lie therein, and also have some experience out of body.

Sadly I'm not qualified ENOUGH to answer your question so I'll paraphrase something by someone who is...Albert Taylor. In the planes there exists all manner of beings, some humans, some other ap'ers and other creatures that your mind can't conceive of how they look. Some of these creatures are wise and very very old. But not all of them are to be trusted. Some will blatantly take advantage of your "Astral N00bie-ness" and try and trick you in some manner or hurt you. As far as "can they physically kill you?" He hasn't said, but I imagine they could give you one hell of a serious mind fuck.

I'll admit that I am not "qualified" to give a proper answer either. But I absolutely believe that AP is nothing more than a dream-like state. Same goes for OBEs. But, even with that in mind, I don't think that makes it any less real. It just makes it different in nature than what the common concept of AP is. However, when it comes to dream-like states, nature and experience are not the same thing.

As with any dream, the physical occurrence may not be "real" but the experience is 100% real. It's all a matter of understanding the context.

You won't find any dangers unless you go into it wanting to harm other people. There are plenty of things to take care of you if you're going to do this.

Actually, I've sleep walked during AP one time. So maybe this can happen to more people.

its fairly easy to stay safe wile APing if you ever do get into trouble all you have to do is think you need to get back to your body or be scared and you should snap back to safty into your body

Yes, your mind is still connected to your body at all times, and if you can make your physical body wake up by:

1. wanting to go back
2. making your body move in a weird way
3. making your body scared

then you get back easy. So all of the dangers are not something to be worried about.

I don't have any first hand experience with Astral Projection, but I have read some on the subject. Here are some interesting sites/accounts on astral projection that I found . . .

1. The Astral Society . . . A website and message board on Astral Projection
2. Erin Pavlina . . . She claims to have astral projected for years and has some interesting experiences.
3. Robert Peterson . . . I orginally found his info. about communicating with the subconscious, but he has interesting accounts of trying to astrally project.

As far as I know there should not be dangers. The only one I've been warned about (someone who knows alot about spiritual things) is that if you try AP you should never have anybody else in the same room. There's a risk of some sort of mixup if you get sucked back to your body because of an interruption. Pets make even higher risk. Good luck!
