how did you get out of your body |
|
I've been studying and practicing lucid dreaming for more than ten years. I've tried on occasion to project myself away from my body, I've managed to leave my body just fine, but I always find myself standing in the room in which I want to sleep. The strangest part of all this is real material will block my movement. I can't go through closed doors or open them to go through, while I can see people, and follow them through doors it's just that if they are shut I'll end up stuck there. Another funny thing I never actually see myself, I see my body, but I can never see a face, but I know it's me. |

I pushed I pushed like hell once I'd gone Lucid. I don't think all of me ever left my body, I think that may be why I couldn't see myself, it was like looking at a mirror of yourself and mirrors never seem to work right in dreams. But honestly I'm a natural lucid dreamer and I've been trying projection for a couple years and a walk around the house is still all I can really do. I mean when I project I don't seem to have any of the perks of a lucid dream, I can only go somewhere by walking, and like I said tables, doors, and walls all stop me if I try to move past them. |

Do you know about the difference in astral planes? I've found that not all books on the subject talk about them. Supposedly the "lower" planes are the closest ones to the physical world, which many people, like both you and I, end up on automatically. Supposedly, the higher planes are less like the physical world, and more filled with light/love/energy. If you have normal, earthy energy (that is you're a normal person with plenty of negative energy/bad jou-jou), you end up on the lower planes. If you're a spiritual guru, you end up on planes where there are supposedly angels and stuff flying around everywhere. |

I always get a very strong feeling when I'm unable to move past something that someone is actually trying to hold me back, but anytime someone passes through a door I can go with them, if they go outside I can go wherever I want. I can't do any of the really neat things from my lucid dreams, but I can cross large distances quickly with no feeling of effort. The people I see and follow are very real. I can sometimes listen to people, but I feel that is an intrusion upon them. |

With regards to the difference between LDs and AP, I've had similar experiences. AP is definitely different, and I've been able to verify leaving my body by witnessing events occurring miles away in details down to the people's thoughts at the time I was projecting with absolutely no prior knowledge of them. So I'm a big believer in AP. |

You misunderstand, these are real people not spirits. I can see hear and smell them, they also are completely unaware of me, with the exception of my mom, she's seen me a few times. But if I can follow someone out the door, I regain my ability to move freely from place to place, as long as it's "public" I can step out of the door and decide to be in downtown Chicago 7 hours away I can do it. it's just that no matter where I go homes are off limits unless I follow a "real" person. It's almost like my mind knows it's got a body but doesn't try to use it. I've noticed my feet never move I just glide or pop up where I wanted to be. And I can re-enter my own home but once in I can't explore closed rooms or anything so I usually "go back" is the best way I can say it to my body. |

which technique do you use? |

In my dream body I roll over on my stomach and push myself out. I don't know about some of you guys but lucid dreaming and AP are naturals for me I've been doing it long before I knew it's name. Sometimes I'll be lucid and suddenly realize my mind is trying to project and I can almost step out of my dream body. I've never been able to project while awake, I've heard of people doing it that way, but I have to be asleep. I can go to sleep knowing what I need/want to do and can get it done or like I said it will just happen. The best I can describe leaving my dream body is pulling off weat cloths only there is no warm or cold just the clingy feeling of it peeling away. |

Also about astral projection, I think it is likely a latent ability. I believe children are very adept at it but lose it or forget it as the become masters of their real bodies. My first accidental projections started between 18 months to 3 years after I was born. My mom swears she used to see me up and running in the house and being between what she thought was me and my bed, when she looked in my bed I was asleep. I don't know if those were just her imaginings or if it was really me projecting and playing in the house while I was asleep. |
