my earliest memory is my 3rd birthday. I was dumb, had no idea what was going on, other than here is a big old cake with this funny symbol. I always remembered the funny symbol, until two years later when I learned it meant 3. so I knew, that was my 3rd birthday.

but when I was 4, I remember the day I became fully conscious. that is, I was playing with my older sisters, when suddenly it hits me - I don't remember. I don't really remember what happened yesterday. I don't really remember what happened last year. I don't remember meeting my sisters, I just know they were my sisters. I don't remember meeting my parents, I just know they are my parents. I don't remember how I got here in this bedroom playing with a toy! Other than that I just simply know, this is my bedroom, and these are my toys.

And I remember holding the toy in my hand, and trying to remember. I understand babies come from mommies, but I don't remember being born. And it was just sorta weird, realizing I can't really remember much of anything past 3. Its a blank. It felt like, I didn't exist at some point, which was a very weird thing to feel.

I think something finally switched in my brain, because after that day, I was able to remember more fluidly. Including my first childhood dreams.
