Well, I read a Russian forum where several experienced oneironauts try to found out if it is possible to do share dreaming, and the results for now shows that some information at least can be transferred via dream means. Another interesting part is that DCs of people, whom you try to connect but IRL they are waking, sometimes reflect the actions of the "prototype", i.e. if one is busy IRL his DC in the dream of oneironaut may also say something "I am busy, do not bother me".

And as I remember, LaBerge also speculated about dream sharing, and he was talking about two possibilities: "true dream sharing", or sharing of information. In second case, information between to sleepers is shared, and their minds recreate everything based on it (kinda like in online RPG). Second conception may explain why in such dreams, details may differ.

Personally, I think there may be something to dream sharing, although it doubtfully works like most of theories tell, especially those about astral etc. But still, if interpretation is wrong, some phenomenon itself may still exist.

I've always been pretty skeptical, but I believe this could have happened.
that sounds incredible. I have no idea how I would react about it myself, but I think it just shows you that there's more to our dreams/existence than we could possibly comprehend. You should appreciate the fact that you were able to experience something like that, and treasure the memory of such an incredible experience.

Join me in my... quest to try to figure this out. The Cusp somewhat knows how to do it, but he gets at least one message a day from people asking him to come find them. He's agreed to help me learn, and then he can refer those people to me. If I make any leeway, I'll let you know. Until then, anybody have any interesting information?

I've been on the quest for a long time and I figured it out; All dreams are shared dreams.

Anyway, I had really let things go that day, and talked with her about a couple things I had never told anyone before. We had a very strong connection that day, and I have never felt more vulnerable in front of someone before. I don't know that this has anything to do with the dream, but it could be a major connection that we shared which helped us to connect in the dream world... just a thought.
I came back to Dreamviews today looking for a situation kinda similar to this in some ways, but this is a little interesting. Yesterday, I, a cancer, had gotten emotional about a little thing that just kinda bothered me with my friends/love interest... After a little drama with everybody, we decided to hit a reset button, and I went from unbearably uncomfortable and just wanting to go home to incredibly happy and not wanting to leave... It was a weird day. Said love interest also interacted with me a little differently than she has in a long time, and that was kinda in the back of my mind as I was falling asleep... As I drifted into a daydream, I saw her in a new light (I'm not usually able to really picture people I interact a lot with) and suddenly, I felt this intense connection to her, she took up my senses entirely, and my head started spinning and everything suddenly had a weight and significance to it that I normally associate with a premonition dream...

Anyway, enough about my experience, I just thought it was kinda interesting how similar it all was.

That has been the opposite of my experience, but we probably read different sub-forums, and are talking about a different time-frame, since you joined sooner. Its better now than it was two years ago. Also, I've found an approach with skeptics that I'm happy with. It seems that shared dreaming skeptics not only don't believe in shared dreaming, they actively don't want to experience it. So I just offer to share a dream experience, in a post or in a private message, and so far that always ends the argument.

From what I have seen, there was some destructively manipulative personality-cult type stuff going on with shared dreaming on this site a few years ago. I don't fault the skeptics for wanting to be free of that sort of thing. Sharing dreams in a healthy way requires a lot of respect for other people's freedom and personal space, and a lot of people who have been into shared dreaming haven't had that.
