ello everyone!

just joined cause i thought maybe this forum could help give me insight to this little thing my mind does

well so everytime il lay down to go to sleep

and im perfectly awake for this

i close my eyes and stare at the darkness

and out of random

a picture will flash into my mind and i can see it before my eyes very clearly

and the images are completely random,

for an example i could be laying there and get

A red tea cup

or a image of me at a dark cross road

and i jsut jolt off into seperate directions really fast

does anyone know what this is?

sorry for all the spaces, its a habit due to the fact im a myspace bulliton fiend ^^

Yeah, it's called hypnagogic imagery. It's basically an early dream stage that isn't fully formed yet. Everyone gets them, but they are a bitch to remember unless you rouse yourself from that state. Plus you're usually somewhat lucid when it happens.

It's like a pre-dream, or the foundation of a house, something to build on. You lack a dream body in these, and don't start dreaming for real until you acquire a dream body.

You can control them somewhat, but it's a very subtle kind of control.

It happens to me, too. I never knew what it was. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

i love HI. Always get them when I doze off on my couch; especially when the sun is shining through the windows on my face. The shapes under my eyelids turn into images and it's cool.
