Is this a form of astral travel?

I had a dream once when I was watching a soccer game in the middle of the night, it was at a small local field and there was a 'haunted house' off in the distance.

Anyways, the game went on, then all of a sudden I hear a girl screaming in the background "It's the ghost... it's back, it's back for revenge" - or something. It started raining and everyone started running. The only way out of this place was up a small, steep dirt track. Everyone, including myself started running up this track and I seemed to be the only one getting kicked back and tripping over. By the end, I was on my hands and knees trying to crawl up this hill (which was all slippery and muddy from the rain), I kept slipping and then I just gave up, turned around and sat there in the mud.
In the distance, at the bottom of the track I see this figure flying up towards me. In one quick movement, the ghost or whatever it was, opened its mouth wide and bit off my face... now all I remember seeing was blood and chunks of skull flying around, then I woke up.

Now, you're probably thinking "yeah that's just a normal, weird dream"
But, I flicked the light switch on, which was next to my bed and I noticed dirt and mud on my hands and the light switch. I ripped the covers off, then looked at my body - it was covered with dirt and mud, my feet included. I got up and noticed there were no footprints or dirt anywhere. I grabbed a flashlight and investigated outside, it wasn't raining and there was no dirt anywhere that I could roll around in... so I ruled out sleepwalking.

Does anyone think that I astral traveled and brought back the dirt and mud with me???

soo.. it wasn't a false awakening and you actually had dirt on you in real life?

Even if it was, stuff like that has no relevancy to the lucid dreaming boards. You should have posted it in 'Beyond Dreaming' where people will tell you 'yes'.

wow, what an experience. So, you are 100% sure that one of your friends didn't play some prank on you(I know, bad question, but, I've seen these happen), you weren't sleepwalking, there was no mud anywhere around your house? I know that you answered the last 2 questions, but, I couldn't think of anymore questions to ask. The reason is with astral travel, you are supposed to be in the spiritual world as far as I know and so having mud on your hands and body shouldn't be possibe

If i believe this, that means i'll be haunted for the next week (when going to bed and in dreams) soooo.... I refuse to believe this. The dream itself was a bit hardcore to be honest...

I'm almost positive it was just a false awakening. If someone OBE's their real body doesn't move just their "spirit body".

Didn't he just go back to sleep? I mean if he needed a flash light he should be asleep. Unless he got up for the day... Did you get up, good sir?

He mentioned that he investigated where the mud might have come from using a flashlight

It doesn't really sound like a AP.
Because in a AP, your astral body travels, not your physical.
I think maybe you went to bed with it on you?

It might have relations to Stephen LaBerge's book, Exploring The Worlds Of Lucid Dreaming.

In the book, it says that theres been reports of "Dream communique".
ex: What if you slept, and what if in your sleep you dreamed, and what if in your dream you went to heaven and picked a flower, and what if you awoke and had a flower in your hand? Ah, what then?
