How in the HELL can you still see, smell, hear, think, touch, or taste when your asleep in bed in a lucid dream. Your eyes are closed and your laying there not using any senses at all. Answer that please.

Because the neurons in your physical brain are firing. The same neurons that fire when you perceive stimuli whilst awake.

The same way you see in waking life... your mind makes a mental model of the world you live in based on electrical activity in the brain.

During the day time it is based on sensory input creating electrical activity in the brain
During dreaming it is based on memory input creating electrical activity in the brain.

Both worlds are a mental model... neither are a direct representation of external reality.

And nor does astral travel. Which is why it is completely pointless to debate over whether a blind person could see if astral travel were possible or whether a deaf person could hear for that matter or whether a snake could still use infra-red.

Speaking of which... I wonder if snakes can astral travel?

Heh, this thread went past my head.

Spaceexplorer, I went to 2 exams last week and have one more in 1 week, so I haven't had the time to write severel pages of text on a forum.
