      OBE's with others?

So my friend informed me that if I was to have an out of body experience I could be able to find where he was sleeping and drag him out of his body and we could roam the astral planes together. I don't know if this is the same thing as dream sharing and honestly I don't really know a lot about that subject or if this information is true so I'm sorry if this question has been asked before. Thanks in advance for any input on this

I saw that movie. "Dude, where's my body?"

I think dreams, OBEs, and reality are all the same thing. The only difference is how many people you share it with.

So yes, that should be possible. Although I don't think it would be necessary to drag him out of his body, but if you ever get the chance, give it a try.

Well, if you and your friend want to try this experiment, I would say practice astral projection first. It may take awhile before you can do something like this. It's something super-advanced. I did astral projection for hours and hours every week for a year straight, and the closest I have ever come to doing this was me seeing a friend's dream, but she was not aware of me.

Awsome. Thanks for the reply guys. Im sure I could find more on this site about astral projection correct? Also, if I was to go get my friend wouldn't his Spirt Guide try and protect him and kick my ass back to my body? Again, I don't know a whole lot about astral projection or Spirit Guides so sorry if I'm asking stupid questions.

P.S. WakingNomad, thats one of the coolest avatars I've seen on this site.

I don't know anything about spirit guides, only dreaming, so all I can tell you is that everything requires your attention to exist.

From what I've noticed, the only people who have spirit guides are those who focus their attention on them, try to find them. So unless your friend has found his, he's not going to have one.

And even if there were such a thing, why the heck would they interfere with you?

All people have spirit guides. Some are aware of them; some are not. They operate very subtley until someone asks for their input. If you did this uninvited, yes, his spirit guide would probably kick you out or block you. I hear my guide kicking out would-be trespassers sometimes. If you planned it together with full consent on the part of both parties, it would probably be allowed. A person's psychic space is their inner home. If you wouldn't walk into their house uninvited, then you probably shouldn't be trying to enter their psychic space uninvited either. Many of us have the good sense to keep the doors locked, you know? My family traipses through a lot, but other people, not so much. That's as it should be, and sometimes, when I'm tired of them, I also ask my guide to keep them out! Especially when they're in bitchy hyper-critical moods, as my ex and my oldest son tend to be. The only person I'd actually want to go traipsing around astrally with, really, would be my spirit guide, Leslie, or maybe my angel Ariella, who I'd love to know better... my guide JoAnne is cool too, but busy with others as well as me.

But you know... if you need to experiment, and your friend wants to as well, why not try it? Let us know how it works out!

Well I was thinking that Spirit Guides were sort of like guardian angels and if they don't know my intent then they will see me as a threat and not allow me around my friend.

Thanks Iris for the input. My friend told me that if I ever learn to astral project to come pick him up so I do have consent from him. Also if this works I'll report it here immediately

So you can have more than one spirit guide? Also, so I can be cleared up on this but what purpose exactly does a spirit guide serve? Is a spirit guide the same thing as a dream guide? Sorry for the bombardment of questions. One more thing, not to be too nosy, but how long have you been astral projecting Iris?

Hey man. glad you like the avatar. I found it by googling "Dragon Spirit". Anyway, if it is possible to yank someone out of their body, I am sure only very advanced yogis and monks can do something like that.

It's much better for your friend to also put forth the effort, and learn to astral project himself.

Astral projection is fun, and there is a lot to be learned from it, but it should be taken seriously. I was totally obsessed with it for a year. I lived as a hermit. All I did was work, read books, and practice astral projection and remote viewing during that time.

We all have spirit guides. I am learning more and more about my own. The purpose? That's like asking what the purpose of our soul is. It's a lot more complex than protection and guidance, but you have to find out about your spirit guides yourself.

I only recently learned the concept of dream guides. I tried to create one, as a manifestation of my subconscious, but he hasn't reappeared since. A couple nights ago, a little gnome appeared in a lucid dream, encouraging me to walk on water. He may be an individual entity. I am not sure.

Let me share a story with you about astral projection, and experimenting with a friend.

I was infatuated with this beautiful tease of a woman, with long blond hair, and big brown eyes. She was a messed up person. She was telekinetic. (I witnessed it.) We communicated telepathically all the time. We would stare into each others' eyes, smiling silently for sometimes 5 minutes at a time. I would say, "I know."
She would say, "You know what?"
I would say, "The thing we are both thinking, but neither of us are saying."
Then, she'd just giggle and nod.

We had a very intense psychic connection. I thought this would be the perfect person to practice astral projection with, but she wasn't interested in it herself. I have always wanted to go on astral trips with another person, but I have never found anyone willing.

Anyway, I asked her if I could visit her in her dreams instead.

      She said, "Sure."

So, that night I astral projected into one of her dreams. She didn't see me, but I saw her dream vividly, not interacting with any of it. Some of it was sad, and kind of creepy.

When I saw her the next day, I told her what I saw. I thought she'd either dismiss it as totally irrelevant, or be pleased with my skill. Instead her eyes widened, and a look of fear and shock came across her face.

"Get out of my head," she whispered, shaking her head in disbelief.

"What?" I asked incredulously. "Is she joking?" I thought to myself.

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" she started screaming at me.

I sat there in confusion. She calmed down, and told me about the dream that she had.

Then, she angrily said, "Don't ever do that again. I know what I said, but don't ever do that again to me. You really freaked me out, man. That's not cool."

My point to this story? Astral projection is real, and is not to be trifled with. It can be fun, but it must be taken seriously, and respected, like the ocean. The ocean is my playground, my temple, my mother, and will teach me humility if I think I am invincible.

There are many books on astral projection and remote viewing (which are similar, but not exactly the same.)

I hope you have lots of fun, and learn a lot. Make sure you learn how to ground yourself so you don't float away when you don't want to!

Thanks for the tips and the story man. Looks like I have a lot to learn. I can see why you were obsessed with it for a year. I'm a huge gamer and played games at least 4-6 hours everyday until about a month ago when I found this site. Now I haven't played but about 2-3 hours a week.

That is a pretty crazy story. Is it a true story and was it someone you know who experienced it? Why did she scream get out of my head, was she just scared that he infiltrated her mind or did he unknowingly screw her up somehow? Also, are the astral planes sorta like Lucid dreaming. I've also heard speculation that astral projecting IS lucid dreaming and vice versa.

      Hi Silver Bullet,

Yes, a spirit guide is very much like a guardian angel. My guide Leslie is my personal guide, with me for life. But my guide JoAnne is a specialist guide, brought in to help me with my own healing. She's an expert in herbal and nutritional healing and other healing modalities. She also works to guide me to the right books to learn it for myself. She is with me temporarily, and also works with others, so it's more as if she's a consultant. I don't think there are any limits to how many you have... it's just what you need at the time, really. There are some around me that I perceive as giggly little cherub angels, for whom I have no individual names, but they are always very upbeat and positive and helpful, and remind me to focus on positive aspects of situations. I call them my Cheerleading Squad. And I have an angel named Ariella who is, as I understand it, a sort of spirit family matriarch. Could be others too... I sometimes hear others talking either to me or to my guide Leslie.

Dreams come from various sources. Some are our own psyche working through things. Some come from our spirit guides, or from angels, or from Spirit or God/dess. Some also are shared dreams with family and friends. Some are us peeking into the future and seeing events that haven't happened yet. Our dream life is probably really as busy as our waking life, and as varied. I wish I remembered all of it! I wake up with so little, yet knowing I was dreaming heavily all night. And things that startle me awake make me forget too, which makes me sad. At least I usually remember hypnagogic and hypnapompic dreams well, both at night, and when I take an afternoon nap. But the longer ones are too often lost.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing your reports of how it works out!
