      Help with talking to sub-c and visualising

      I have no idea why but my visualisations are bad and no matter how I try they don't get better at all, I can make a 3D scene but it is always in black and white, low quality, there is no sound at all and I have no sence but vision, I keep trying to make the better quality and get colors but no matter what they are always like that and are not getting better, I am trying daydreaming, meditating, just visualising but nothing.

      As for talking to my sub-c me and my friend found a way, I told it to a few people and they all succeded (About 8 of them) even my friend and it just took them like 1-5 minutes but for some reason I am unable to at all, I just get a headacke when I try and nothing else (According to my friend's sub-c, Noom who is in love with my sub-c named Yranul, Yranul is trying to talk to me but is unable for some reason). I even tried to meditate and talk to it but all I get is my own toughts going back to me. Even when I daydream it seems as if I'm the one making up the lines for the dream characters as they all talk trough my own tought which I can stop, I can make them stop talking in the middle of the sentence, something is wrong with me and I really don't know what, can someone help? xD;;

      And if anyone is interested in the tehnique it is basically just talking to yourself in the head "Can you hear me?" untill you hear a different voice respond, like a whisper or a voice similar to yours but a bit different, like more higher or deeper or something like that. xD;;

      Thanks for reading ^^

      If anyone tries the tehnique tell me if you succeded =o

      (This is probably an inner sanctum thread )

      My answer is multi-part, because there are different reasons why people visualize. One, when you're doing a meditation visualization it's not necessary for the visualization to be life like. It's okay if you can't see the red of the apple or taste it. A lot of visualization meditations are just about engaging in an idea.

      But, I do know that other types of visualization meditations specifically ask you to engage in all of your senses and experience your visualization as if its reality. Such as visualizations for manifesting something you want.

      There are two reasons why you could be struggling to engage your visualization with all of your senses. The first problem is your in the wrong brain wave state.

      I recently read an article about athletes that practice intense visualizations. In the past we assumed that all meditations happen in theta (which is before dreaming) or in an even deeper state of mind. We were wrong! When they examined the brains of the athletes, who were able to imagine the beads of sweat, the throbbing of their hearts, the roar of their fans, the joy of winning - they discovered that focused visualizations happen in BETA.

      Beta is a state of high concentration and focus. It's ABOVE normal waking consciousness. The article went on to describe just how active and engaged the brain is in these visualizations - they were calling it peak intensity.

      The article I read gave some suggestions how you can learn to engage in intense visualizations. Rather than practicing visualizations - what you need to practice is mindfulness instead. Learn to quiet and still your mind. Your mind needs to be emptied first before you can fill it with your imagination . Two, practice engaging in all of your senses in the present moment. Do so daily! By engaging in all of your senses you take your brain waves out of alpha (relaxed) to beta (focused). So you'll have an easier time going into beta again when you need to.

      There is nothing wrong with your visualization skills. You're just in the wrong brain wave state! Once you achieve the peak focus of athletes, you won't have any trouble visualizing what ever you want to.

      UNLESS. . . . . And this brings me to number two reason why you could be having problems with visualizing. You're trying to visualize something you don't care for!

      For months I was trying to visualize myself at a new job. I was struggling to imagine what my working space looked like, what it sounded like, or anything. Then one day I woke up and realize the reason I can't visualize myself at this new job is because - I DON'T WANT IT! So my subconscious just kept drawing up a giant blank.

      On the other hand, I love nature so much, that if I imagine myself in nature - within moments I can hear the singing of the cicadas or the glowing green of leaves under sunlight.

      The visualizations that happen in Beta are focused visualizations. These meditations are ideal for the law of attraction. (if that's your thing)

      But there is another kind of visualization. After all, we have the VILD technique. And Beta doesn't take you into the dream state. So there must be another brain wave state closer to dreaming that is prime for visualization meditations. Like the VILD, these visualization meditations happen in the in-between state of dreaming and sleeping.

      Unlike the focused visualizations, in these dream like visualizations you enter a subconscious landscape while awake. They are great for contacting your subconscious! With these visualizations, you can offer the seed idea for the landscape. But you don't 'control' everything.

      Here is my advice for having this kind of visualization (an over glorified HI really!):

      1. You can't be too alert. Or the visualization will just be fuzzy. You have you to fall into a deeper state of mind

      2. You can't be too sleepy! Or you'll just fall asleep! If you are sleepy, then sleep, and try the visualization afterwards.

      3. Relax your body, starting from your toes to your head, slow down your breath

      4. It helps to first focus on a single point of light. Imagine the point of light within you, and you're going deeper and deeper into yourself

      5. When you feel ready, INSPIRE the visualization with your seed thought. Maybe it's an ocean, or a forest. But let your subconscious fill in the details, all you have to do now is soak it in

      It's okay if you're struggling to do this kind of visualization. Try listening to a guided meditation instead. A good one should have you relax your body and mind before visualizing anything. Hope this helps.

      Huh, I actually have a similar problem. Except, when I visualize for the law of attraction, theres color, theres sound, however, the visualization is pretty fuzzy and I can only keep up the visualization for a short time. But at least I'm getting what I wish for. It would be lovely to get some help for my BETA state. A couple more problems I'm having is with a sport.

      I am currently into Tricking (Acrobatic Martial Arts) and I visualize the trick I want to learn. But It's a lot easier to visualize the moves in 3rd person (Since theres a lot of twists) When I do go into first person and visualize a trick with a spin, I always see things during rotation that do not match the background and It doesn't feel like I'm there. Usually I visualize myself in my Gym with other friends just busting out insane combos and cheering, or just in a beautiful grass field with a few trees in perfect weather. So any help with BETA will be greatly appreciated .

      Anyways, Lunary, have you tried talking to your subconscious in your dreams? Also, are you visualizing for a sport? Or for the law of attraction? I may be able to drastically help you . Also, try to meditate to some relaxing music, I may be able to hook you up with a track that my friend gave me (It works wonders).

      PS : I have tried your technique, my thoughts replied and said something stupid, its best you dont hear it . But I guess Ill try a little harder tonight. Ill let you know what happens. Also, not everyone has insane ass hallucinations in HI, some people have faint white clouds, while others get something that makes it look like they were on shrooms, everyones different.

      I was trying to talk to it in my dreams when I was semi-lucid a couple of times and it resulted in a nightmare of something trying to chase me down and kill me xD;;

      I managed to have 1 fully lucid dream in which I was with my sub-c but it didn't talk, just used body movement as showing with it's paw and such.

      But yah that is no wonder as my dreams also have no sound nor color themselves xD;;
      All the talk the chars do is like telepathy, just comes in my own toughts.

      Also I just try to visualise scenes I like, like me and Moonlight (My friend) together and such, pretty much stuff I would like to see and such. xD
      I don't have any relaxing music cept one that was used to kill my mental block, or the evil voice in my head that made me depressed (No worries it was not my subcounscious xD;; )

      Also in my visualisations I don't really ever get the white light that is supposed to help you visualise xD;;

      Hmm, thats strange. I never known anyone that had no color or sound in their dreams. Ill look into that. What do you visualize for? The Law of Attraction, VILD, or while meditating?

      I pretty much tried to meditate and if you are using the method to talk to sub-c do it somewhere in the middle of the day, as it sleeps too xD

      Yeah, I would try to just clear my mind, then relax my whole body. Start from the small details, try to add color, etc. . So should I try using your method during the night? Perhaps even convince it to make me lucid

      Not during the night, do it in the middle of the day, and you can ask it to make you lucid too, but remember to talk to it and befriend it, it is a person of it's own, it's usually mostly like you yourself but with some slight differences. =3
