    Exploring My Mind

My dream journal. I'll try to make things as interesting as possible, and try to recall as many dreams as I can.
Anything in orange text is just part of a non-lucid. Anything in blue text is a lucid dream. Purple text is a dream sign, or possible dream sign. If the text isn't colored, it's not a dream and it's usually just me commenting on various things.
I'm hoping to fill this journal with tons of dreams over the coming years, and ultimately, get better at lucid dreaming~

    1. Attack of the 50ft Man

by , 08-27-2016 at 11:24 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Not a whole lot recalled this morning, but certainly a bizarre one either way. But first...a not so bizarre one!
I was being made fun of by yet another guy I knew from high school. Accurately to real life, this was a guy who used to make fun of me back in the day. However, it appears my dream self is feeling awful pissed off and courageous lately! In the middle of making fun of me, I turn from my locker, walk up to him, and punch him square in the jaw. He fell on the floor, unconscious. All around me were hushed gasps. I turned to the head adult in the room and began ranting like crazy. "You have to understand, this has been going on for ages now, and none of you do ANYTHING about it. What am I supposed to do? Just sit here?? No! I won't! I refuse! I'm not going to stand for this crap anymore! ... I'm starting to notice a recurring trend in my latest dreams: A lot of random people I knew in my high school keep showing up, and often times it ends up being people who I really disliked back in the day, often due to them making fun of me. What's the significance? Not sure. But it definitely keeps happening! And as you can see...my dream self is SICK of it.
Now for the strange one! Guess what? It involves another high schooler I knew, only this one thankfully wasn't one I hated. AND YET. He was the cause of conflict in this dream.
I was in a pretty big town, standing outside. The sun was setting, but it was very cloudy, giving the sky a dull look. The guy I mentioned, call him N, comes up to me and says he has to stop me. "Stop me? What did I do?"
His response? Well, just what you'd expect. He shouted and grew 50ft in size. Must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed that morning. Despite the oddness of the situation, I was quite reasonably freaked out! I screamed and ran as fast as my legs could carry me, N stomping his way behind me, each footstep an earthquake.
That's all I can recall on that one. It's like all my high school memories are coming back to get me...
    2. Almost Lucid: Government Chases and School Antics

by , 08-26-2016 at 07:46 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Had a two day period of no recall, but I didn't let that deter me, and this morning I was able to recall two non-lucids. What was frustrating about the second one, however, is that I was almost lucid! Well, frustrating isn't quite right. It's more both heartening AND frustrating, nice and bittersweet. Here's the first non-lucid:
I was being chased by these government agent types; they were an army of about 10 men and women dressed up in black suits and equally black sunglasses. They were after me for reasons I didn't know, but what I did know was that I needed to hide. I ran all over the place trying to find a good enough hiding spot. Seemed like we were in a sort of hotel-like place. I ducked through a stairwell, noticing a guy as I passed by who I knew from real life, somebody from my high school, and for some reason, he was wearing a sombrero. He shook his head and looked away. Eventually I found a tucked away corner behind a column and waited. They passed me by, and the leading lady was barking orders left and right, having the group split up. Did I get caught? Well, let's hope not. Dun dun dunnnn.
      The second dream:
I was in a classroom that looked like my old psychology class's classroom from high school. I was minding my own business, but the guy I recognized from high school in the previous dream was also in this classroom (no sombrero this time, a shame...) and he was ranting like crazy, to the point where it was bothering others. I couldn't take it anymore, so I slammed my hands on my desk, stood up, turned around, and shouted at him to just shut up. He gave a snappy retort back at me, and the entire class fell silent. I gave him a glare and sat back down in my seat. Suddenly, I got the strangest urge to do a reality check. All I could think was, I should probably reality check right now. ......And yet, nah...I'll do it later. Dismissing that thought, I noticed a fictional character from a game I play walk into the classroom. In this game, she's a little sister to the main character, so she happened to be my imaginary little sister here. She was bringing me cookies, which cheered up my grumpy mood a little. All I can say is...CURSE YOU, DREAM-SELF!!! On the one hand, I'm delighted my non-lucid self is thinking those thoughts. That's a good sign of progress. BUT SO CLOSE. Yet so far. In a dream that wasn't all that weird, funny enough, at least compared to the antics of the dream before it.
    3. Suddenly, Guard Dogs!

by , 02-20-2014 at 10:02 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Both of these dreams took place four days ago, but I'm just now getting around to posting them! Sorry for the delay.

Guess where I was in this one? If you've read a lot of my dream journal, or just glanced at the titles/tags, you'll be so very unsurprised to find out that this first dream took place in...A SCHOOL. -surprised gasping- We were in a room that looked like it would be a Steak n' Shake dining area except all the tables were replaced with school desks. We were working pretty furiously on a test, as if our lives depended on it. As I got close to finishing the test, I saw my girlfriend's ex-friend, who was making faces at me. Guess we're in elementary school or somethin'.

This second dream was the more dream-like of the two, in terms of outright weirdness. My girlfriend and I went to the mall! To do what? Well, I'd assume shopping, but who knows, really? Anyways, we got there, but a very creepy old lady was blocking the entrance to the mall, saying "You aren't allowed to go in there!" She wouldn't tell us WHY, of course. Being the reckless dream selves that we were, my girlfriend and I found a back entrance over the wall and into the mall. What followed was kind of terrifying, or at least at the time. A loud alarm sounded off; we knew right away we were in trouble. In the distance, we heard dogs yelping, and could vaguely see the old lady running towards us with a giant pack of barking, angry dogs. No shopping for us! Gosh dang it. We started to run, although we weren't sure where we were even running to. We were pretty much trapped in this mall now. The barking of the dogs drew closer.

What was our fate? Beats me, I woke up! Always at the good parts.

    4. Chases: Zombies Everywhere

by , 10-26-2013 at 01:59 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Remembered three different dreams last night.
I went to a party at a house I didn't recognize. A guy I know took my hat and started tossing it back and forth with another girl. I snatched the hat out of the air and they gave me disappointed looks.
This next one I recalled in a lot more detail.
I went to an old friend's apartment for a reason I can't remember. Upon arriving, I discovered none other than the plant dad from Goosebumps. I suppose we got in a fight, because soon after I was running down the stairs trying to get away, but I realized I forgot my phone, which I desperately needed. I ran back up and suddenly had a small brown block in my hand, which I used to tackle the plant dad to the ground and beat his head in, hoping he would stay down. He did not, much to my horror. And turns out my phone was in my pocket the whole time.
I ran down the stairs as quick as I could, the plant dad following close behind me. When I reached the bottom, I sadly discovered that the door had an electronic code lock. The plant dad was behind me, but instead of attacking me, he pushed me aside, opened the door, ran out into the garage of my own house, and stole our car. He drove away smiling and waving at me.
I then re-visited the same apartment during the daytime, and decided to watch TV with a group of people. Suddenly, we discovered one of them was a zombie. We freaked out and rushed to the car outside, but when we got in it, we discovered a zombie inside! I grabbed a pencil that happened to be in my jacket pocket and stabbed the zombie in the face, but it bit me before I could get my hand away. I started feeling a stinging sensation in my hand, and felt funny. All the zombies began looking like normal people. My dad was suddenly next to me, so I told him what I was seeing. I woke up.
I presume I died and turned into a zombie. May that version of dream-me rest in peace.
I was at a baseball game. For some reason, I was selling these multi-colored masks that just covered the nose and eyes of a person's face. I handed them out, and apparently the masks were turning people into zombies!
I finally woke up a second time, and wondered why all my dreams were involving zombies.
