I am dreaming a lot, but they seem to elude my memory. Too bad, because they seem to be great dreams. Jeez....memory! Memory!
Are you being able to recall even a simple detail on waking? Or does the recall get away before you're sort of awake enough? I have known this myself and it can be somewhat frustrating, especially when you know you've had some presence in the dreams; some might recommend that you try to not open your eyes and stay still in bed as you awaken, as something to help with this kind of situation. I have done this in the past and, while it's helpful, it can take some extra thought or intention-setting to actually get yourself to do it. It's worth trying if you haven't already, and if your morning schedules allow for it. I don't see this mentioned a lot, but "memory" in the sense of retaining dream recall in this case, is not only as simple as "I remember it/I don't remember it". If you want to know more, reading a book about how to train your memory might be a good idea, though in any case, whether we retain recall or not partly depends on how much stimulus there is as you awaken; if there are external distractions or if you quickly start thinking about other things, the fading dream memories will go away much faster if they're still there at all, which is why the "lying still in bed with eyes closed" thing helps, because it forces you to keep yourself from distractions, both inner and outer. Hope this is of some help, let me know what you think. Edit: I am remembering that actually in LaBerge's EWOLD, this topic is briefly covered too.
Thank you for your comment! Yes, I do the "lay in bed and remember" thing.
