Lucid Dreams
1/16/11 - Realization Dream Non-dream Lucid I had to babysit two of my cousins last night, and my aunt and uncle didn't come home until about midnight. My uncle drove me home even though it was late, but I've had to sleep over before because of how late they can be. Enter dream scenario. I was at my uncle's house, and he had just returned home. He told me it was 3 am, and that he'd have to take me home in the morning. I was a little confused. I remembered being in the car with him earlier, and wondered why he couldn't have taken me home then. Suddenly I realized that he already had taken me home, and that I was in my own bed, asleep. I basically spazzed out. I ran downstairs, and outside. It felt a little cold, because I'd been expecting it to be, but it really wasn't much different than the temperature inside. I knew for sure then that I was dreaming. I guess I was still a little shocked, because I woke up immediately. I wish I'd remembered a lucid task or something! Maybe tonight...?
1/15/11 - Walking in the Dark Dream Non-dream Lucid I was on my front porch, standing under the little light in the ceiling, talking to someone. I told them to stop talking, that I needed to examine the dream some more. I looked around and stepped outside. It was pitch dark out. I walked further and still could see no light, all I knew was that I felt concrete beneath my feet. I held onto that feeling. I looked up, and could barely make out the outline of the moon. I decided that it should be daytime, and willed the sun to rise. An orb of light rose up into the sky, but it faded away quickly. I tried saying it aloud, "Sun, rise." Nothing happened. I turned around and looked back at my house. All I could see was the small glow coming from the front porch. I walked in that direction...and I don't know what happened after that. I remember being in a classroom, with a bunch of kids from my old school. I was with Mary and Hannah, as usual, and we were talking about something. Just when class was about to be let out, there was a loud booming sound. Rain was pummeling down outside, and lots of water was blowing in through the open windows. Everyone crowded together on the floor, in the middle of the room, as the booming continued and be could see sparks of electricity right next to the windows. It was a really bad lightning storm. After several minutes of sitting there and witnessing the storm, it died down, and the thunder and lightning stopped. The teacher told us we could leave. I was pissed because the book I'd been reading was soaked. Then I woke up. I wish I'd remembered the task of the month!
1/12/11 - Wall-Walking Dream Non-dream Lucid Yay finally, a fun little lucid! I don't remember how I got lucid, but I definitely knew I was dreaming. I was at the front door of my house, and there was a big bubble on the porch. I jumped into the air, and floated/air-swam over to the bubble, and pulled it back into the house with me and closed the door. Will was there, and I'd been trying to impress him, though I knew he was a DC. I gave him the bubble and he left. Remembering a scene from the movie Inception, I decided to try and walk up a wall, and change my perspective a bit - almost like turning the room sideways. I looked around for a good wall to use, and found that my dad's office was perfect, with walls and areas of ceiling at varying angles. I saw my dad sitting at his desk and asked him, "Can I walk on your walls? It is my dream." He just nodded and smiled, so I turned to the wall and walked straight at it, then stepped onto it and walked straight up. It took some concentration, but the room's gravity seemed to shift. The wall I was on became my floor. I proceeded to walk all over the walls and ceiling, enjoying it very much. At some point I decided to get rid of all gravity, and just float around. I did lots of flips and turns, enjoying the way it made the room spin, and the overall weightlessness of it. I then started talking to my dad about it, and he said something about a baseball team, which confused me. I rolled over in bed and woke up. Maybe next time I'll remember to do something productive.
1/9/11 - Awkward Lawyers Dream Non-dream Lucid Me, Mary, and Hannah were working together in my old school's gym. It was apparently a law firm that we ran. I saw Mary sitting on the bleachers, talking to a couple of custmers. I went up to her and asked, "Comfortable?" She sighed and said, "Not really." I sat next to her and put my arm around her. "How 'bout now?" I asked. She smirked. "Oh yeah." We giggled hysterically. The two customers glanced at eachother. "Are you gay?" one of them asked. I laughed again and said, "Psshh! Yeah RIGHT!" Mary chimed in, "Because guys are fucking sexy!" fragmenty... We were closing for the day. Hannah, for some reason, wasn't there. Me and Mary were about to walk out the door when this blonde girl from my school stopped us. She challenged me to a "dance battle", and started dancing like a maniac. I just shrugged and started dancing too. About halfway thru I had to stop because I felt like my hoodie was choking me. It was fine though, because the girl was so amazed by my dancing that I'd already won. Then we all just... left. I also remember a teeny fragment. Before going to bed, I was thinking about how I wanted to find my dream guide. I'd imagined him as a huge gray wolf with unusual markings. Here's the dream. It seemed everything was going super fast, and all this happened in a single moment. I became lucid, met a big gray wolf, supposedly my dream guide, hopped on his back, asked him to take me somewhere, and he took off into the sky at incredible speed. I could see stars zooming by as the moon got larger in the sky... It freaked me out and I woke up. It was exhilarating and frustrating at the same time. I'm not counting this as a lucid due to its short length, and the overall confusion/"collapseness".
12/18/10 - Rocket Boost Dream Non-Dream Lucid I was at my house with a bunch of other people, and I could sense it was turning into a nightmare. Apparently, some creatures were trying to get into the house. I decided to leave and change the dream altogether, so I went out to the screened back porch with Will. I told him to focus on being weightless and he started levitating. I grabbed his hand, crouched, and jumped high up. We broke through the porch roof, but I felt like we were going to fall, so I gave myself a boost and shot flames out of my feet to shoot us up higher. We went far out into Earth's atmosphere, and I contemplated going to the moon, but I figured I'd do it another time and dismissed the idea immediately. I focused on landing safely, so I turned off the "rocket boosters" as I referred to the flames from my feet, and we began hurtling towards Earth. It was really amazing to look down at, there were colors rushing everywhere and although I seriously doubt it would really be like that, in the dream it was very realistic. I slowed us down by willing gravity to let up a bit, and we ended up gently floating back down to the ground... specifically, my back porch. Epic fail... My cat, Patches, woke me up at like 7:30. So early!
6/6/10 - Crowbars Dream Non-dream Lucid I was outside of a large white house. I was in the backyard, and the house's sliding glass back door was open. Somehow I was lucid. I was just about to go off and explore when five or six guys with crowbars appeared. I figured fighting them would ruin my lucidity, so I tried to dream spin my way out of the situation. Nothing happened. The crowbar dudes closed in on me. There was no escaping now; I grabbed a crowbar of my own out of thin air and lunged at the nearest guy. After beating most of the men to a pulp, I was done; someone seemed to have punched me in the stomach, which would explain how I ended up hunched over on the ground, panting. Three men left, one pretty hot(as in sexy, not sweaty), and they looked murderous. Somehow I talked my way out of it, saying that I didn't care if they robbed the big white house (it wasn't mine), and that I really needed to be somewhere so just leave me alone and go rob the house. Sadly, I woke up.

5/21/10 - Theatre Dream Non-dream Lucid I was with my friends Hannah and Mary and some huge, expensive-looking theatre. We were waiting in the entrance hall, which was bigger than my house, and from what I could see the entire building was constructed of marble. There was a huge crowd of people waiting with us for a colossal set of doors to open, so that we may be seated for the upcoming performance. Somehow I was lucid. I turned to Mary and informed her of this. "I know that already," she told me. "We planned to meet here, remember?" Mary and I made numerous reality checks while Hannah just stood around. I really wanted to go off and explore, but I decided to wait with my friends since they'd bothered to meet me in the dream. Sadly, I woke up before anything interesting could happen. I should've realized that Mary and Hannah were DC's and gone exploring like I'd wanted.

5/7/10 - A Bug's Life Takes Flight Dream Non-dream Lucid This dream I had this morning between 8:00 and 9:00. It felt much longer, though. Two kids, brother and sister, along with their friend Zazu (from The Lion King ) and an iguana, were living in an ant colony. The ants pretty much looked like people, and they had a male ant who was their cheif. The girl - who looked suspiciously like Miranda Cosgrove - had befrended the cheif's daughter and managed to get her brother and animal friends accepted into the colony as well. They all participated in colony events and such. I figured I was watching a movie but was able to interact with it by moving things around. At some point, Zazu and his iguana pal decided to go down a river/water ride within the ant hill which led to the outside world. Zazu was used as a boat while the iguana rode atop his head. The river went into a tunnel and then went down a steep drop through a darker tunnel, after which Zazu and the iguana were seperated. Zazu started to panic - "What's happening!? I can't swim!" - as he went through twisting tunnels with haunted house-themed decor. He finally got off the ride and had ended up in a museum, no longer ant size but bird-sized instead. He took a minute to find his iguana friend and they left the museum. I was then standing in a scene outside the now-tent-sized anthill. The now-human-sized ants were sitting around a fire and definately looked like indians. Suddenly I had a thought. "This is weird. Maybe I'm dreaming," and BOOM! Instant lucidity, if only semi-lucid. I started walking away from the indians/ants when their cheif asked me, "Where are you going?" I didn't want to upset the DC's so I lied and said, "Oh, I was just going to....find some herbs." The ant people looked suspicious but the cheif let me go anyway. I felt bad about leaving so I pointed at them and said "Pause," making them freeze and promised I'd be back later to continue the dream. Then I walked a little ways away, gave a giant leap into the sky, and flew away using the swimming technique. Sadly, the dream was so unstable that everything went black and I ended up in my bedroom, wearing a jacket and sweats. I still knew I was dreaming, so I jumped through the ceiling and onto the roof. As I started to fly off my mom stuck her head out a window and called out, "Wait! We have a family gathering in the morning! You have to stay here." I tried to explain that it was all a dream so it didn't matter, and took off. In the air I noticed the dream's instability and tried to make it more vivid by (stupidly) taking off my jacket and sweatpants, so all I was wearing was a shirt and underwear. The dream went black anyway so I was left in darkness, not knowing what to do and trying not to wake up. I managed to have a false awakening which saved the dream for the moment. I knew I was still dreaming and ran downstairs and out the door. I immediately jumped into the air and prepared to fly away, but everything went black again and I woke up. Something I noticed was that, even though I knew the sun was up IRL, it was the middle of the night in my dream. It seems I was pretty desperate to fly away. Dunno why.

4/26/10 - Deletion Dream Non-dream Lucid I was in a large white room with no furniture. I was having a conversation with Hannah and Riley about lucid dreaming, and somehow I knew we were all in a dream. I think Jonathan was there, too, but he never said anything. I remembered that we were supposed to go to the moon. I also knew that Hannah and Riley were merely DC's, and that talking to them too much would hinder my lucidity, so I told them to meet me at the moon later. They said it was cool and left. Mission accomplished... almost. Next I decided to test my dream control. I noticed two creepy old people in the corner of the room and wished they'd go away, so (using a technique found on DV) I pointed at the old lady and said, "Delete." Nothing happened. I tried again, more forceful this time. "DELETE." Slowly, the old lady faded away. I grinned in triumph and then deleted the old man more easily, but the entire room disappeared too. Oops. I was outdoors now, and looked up at the moon. Time to go. It was huge in the sky, and very pretty. I figured a portal would be the fastest way to get there, so I started moving my hands in a sort of circular motion. Nothing happened, no matter how hard I concentrated. My dad then decided to wake me up. Grr. Maybe next time I should try using music to make a portal, like how Raven Knight does it.
