    1. Quarter Pieces

      1/17/11 - Quarter Pieces
      Dream Non-dream Lucid

I was with my dad at a little bookstore, somewhere downtown. I was looking around in the manga section. I didn't see anything really interesting, so I wandered around the store until I found a room seperate from the rest of the store. I went inside, and found shelves filled with books from a single manga series. I was amazed; there was only one copy of each volume, and yet there were enough to fill all the shelves. I loved the way the covers looked; each had a sparkly design on the front that glittered even in the store's dim lighting. I started reading them, and was about halfway through the seventh book when my dad found me. He said we had to leave, so I left with him, reluctantly.

I found myself in an abandoned building, with a single floor, holes where doors and windows should be, and graffiti covering the walls. Two boys walked in, one about my age, and one about ten, both with dark, shaggy hair. I hid myself from them, and my view of the room was switched to third person. The older boy was looking at some of the graffiti. I noticed one in particular - it said "iJustine" in big letters. The boy also noticed it, because the paint used to write it was dripping down the wall. It was still wet. Suddenly, I was seeing in first person again, and Justine and I jumped out from our hiding places. (I hadn't noticed before, but Justine was also hiding in the building.) The two boys were shocked. We started beating the crap out of them, especially the younger one. Afterwards I felt bad, so I asked them how I could make it up to them. The older boy asked for "two quarter pieces," so I reached into my pocket and pulled out a wad of money. I had ten bucks and a bunch of quarters, so I gave them one quarter and Justine gave them another. The two boys then ran off with what we'd given them.
I realized that, because I had $10, I could go back to that bookstore and buy a couple volumes of the manga that I liked. I ran out of the building and down the street, suddenly finding myself in a different scene. I was in the sparkly manga room in the bookstore, picking out which ones I wanted. My dad came in again. He told me that we were late for something and that I'd have to buy the books some other time. We both left.

Hannah was with me then, and we were sitting on some rocks by the ocean. It was just past sunset, and a bunch of other teens were with us, but I don't think I knew any of them. We decided to go swimming, so we all jumped into the water fully clothed. It was a little cold, and the current was strong. A boat passed by, and a big wave rushed over us. I found myself being pulled under, and I thought that Hannah was on top of me. I struggled to swim to the surface, and in doing so found that it wasn't Hannah pulling me down; I was tangled up in something, probably seaweed. When I finally freed myself and swam to the surface, I found myself looking up at an old Inuit woman. The current had somehow carried me far away, under ice, and into this woman's igloo. The hole in the floor that I was looking at her through was supposedly used for ice fishing. I scrambled out of the water and onto the floor, and collapsed, panting and shivering. I think I blacked out. From what I could figure out, the old woman used magic to heal me, but it also caused me to change into a white leopard, and though I could change back and forth at will, it would always be a part of me.

The scene shifted to what I think is a week later. I was staying with the Inuit woman. The view was third person.
Remember the dark-haired boys from earlier? The older one had, apparently, been injured on the ice and abandoned. The old woman had found him and brought him back to her igloo. He was unconscious, and the woman was using some healing spells on him. It must have been similar to the ones used on me, because he kept shifting forms, from human to wolf and vice versa. When she finished, he was human, and seemed to be asleep. She put a blanket over him, and left the house to gather food or something.
The boy soon woke up. He seemed really confused. He got up and looked around. He noticed a leopard's tail(mine) flicking back and forth, sticking out from under a blanket on a cot by the wall. He crept over to it slowly. I switched back to first person, and rolled over on the cot. The boy froze. I stretched and climbed onto the floor in front of him. He looked as though he might try and attack me. He also looked... really hot. I could see the wolf in his eyes.
I stood on my back paws, and transformed into my human self. "It's just me," I told him. He looked really shocked, and a little nervous too - probably because of how I kicked his ass before. I tried to make it clear that I liked him now and wasn't going to hurt him.
I woke up then. Darn, he was so hot too...
    2. Awkward Lawyers

      1/9/11 - Awkward Lawyers
      Dream Non-dream Lucid

Me, Mary, and Hannah were working together in my old school's gym. It was apparently a law firm that we ran. I saw Mary sitting on the bleachers, talking to a couple of custmers. I went up to her and asked, "Comfortable?" She sighed and said, "Not really." I sat next to her and put my arm around her. "How 'bout now?" I asked. She smirked. "Oh yeah."
      We giggled hysterically.
The two customers glanced at eachother. "Are you gay?" one of them asked.
I laughed again and said, "Psshh! Yeah RIGHT!"
Mary chimed in, "Because guys are fucking sexy!"

      fragmenty...

We were closing for the day. Hannah, for some reason, wasn't there. Me and Mary were about to walk out the door when this blonde girl from my school stopped us. She challenged me to a "dance battle", and started dancing like a maniac. I just shrugged and started dancing too. About halfway thru I had to stop because I felt like my hoodie was choking me. It was fine though, because the girl was so amazed by my dancing that I'd already won. Then we all just... left.

I also remember a teeny fragment.
Before going to bed, I was thinking about how I wanted to find my dream guide. I'd imagined him as a huge gray wolf with unusual markings. Here's the dream.

It seemed everything was going super fast, and all this happened in a single moment. I became lucid, met a big gray wolf, supposedly my dream guide, hopped on his back, asked him to take me somewhere, and he took off into the sky at incredible speed. I could see stars zooming by as the moon got larger in the sky... It freaked me out and I woke up. It was exhilarating and frustrating at the same time.
I'm not counting this as a lucid due to its short length, and the overall confusion/"collapseness".
    3. Rocket Boost

      12/18/10 - Rocket Boost
      Dream Non-Dream Lucid

I was at my house with a bunch of other people, and I could sense it was turning into a nightmare. Apparently, some creatures were trying to get into the house.
I decided to leave and change the dream altogether, so I went out to the screened back porch with Will. I told him to focus on being weightless and he started levitating. I grabbed his hand, crouched, and jumped high up. We broke through the porch roof, but I felt like we were going to fall, so I gave myself a boost and shot flames out of my feet to shoot us up higher. We went far out into Earth's atmosphere, and I contemplated going to the moon, but I figured I'd do it another time and dismissed the idea immediately. I focused on landing safely, so I turned off the "rocket boosters" as I referred to the flames from my feet, and we began hurtling towards Earth. It was really amazing to look down at, there were colors rushing everywhere and although I seriously doubt it would really be like that, in the dream it was very realistic. I slowed us down by willing gravity to let up a bit, and we ended up gently floating back down to the ground... specifically, my back porch. Epic fail...

My cat, Patches, woke me up at like 7:30. So early!
    4. Book of Spells

      12/5/10 - Book of Spells
      Dream Non-dream Lucid

I remember a fragment where I thought I'd met a member of the Dream Sharing team, but no matter how hard I try I can't remember what happened. Grr.

There was another dream, or maybe part of the same dream, where I was at my old school's playground with my mom. We were trying to infiltrate the school for some reason. My mom had some sort of magic powers, and was going to disguise me as a 4-year-old so that I could sneak in as a pre-kindergartener. On the other side of the playground was the pre-k class that I was supposed to sneak in with.
My mom opened a huge, old book of spells. She held her hands out toward me and said some spell that I think was in English but I don't remember the words to.
I felt myself shrink and change into an adorable little 4-year-old girl. I looked up at my mom, who was grinning like an idiot. "I'm guessing it worked?" I said.
She picked me up and hugged me. "You are SO cute!" she told me.
"Uh, okay, can't breathe here!" I spluttered, and she put me back down.
"Sorry," she said, still grinning. She said something about remembering the plan and left with that.
I made my way over to a group of little girls. They were crying about something so I figured, what the heck, might be easier to blend in this way. I sat in the middle of the group and turned on the waterworks.
There was a teacher watching the class, but she ignored us crying children. How nice.
I don't remember what happened after that.

I was at my house, chillin in the living room. My mom walks in with her spellbook. I'm in a a state of half-4-year-old, half normal self, so I kinda look like a babyish teenager with a squeaky voice. My mom smiles at me. "Good job earlier. You still look cute."
I just shrug my shoulders, grumpy because of the state I was in.
My mom hands her book to me. "Here. I put a spell on it, so it will grant all of your wishes." She just kinda disappears after that.
All of my wishes? That's odd; My mom wouldn't normally give me so much freedom. Whatever.
I went into my mom's dressing room, sat down, and opened the book.
"I wish to look normal again," I said aloud.
"Is that your one wish?" asked the book, in a creepy fortune-teller woman's voice.
      "Wait, only one wish?"
      "Yes."
"Ok then, that's not my wish, since this'll wear off soon anyway..." I thought for a minute. "Could I wish to be all-powerful?"
      "Of course," said the book.
"Alright then, I wish to be all-powerful," I told it.
      "Your wish has been granted."
Immediately I was returned to my normal form.
I looked over at a lamp and pointed at it, willing it to change forms. Nothing hapoened.
I asked the book what the deal was.
"By gaining all power, you have also taken the wishes from all others."
      Whatever that means.
I looked at the book and the page was like a touch screen, with a list of names with wishes on it and two buttons next to each: "Grant" and "Ignore." I saw one person that wanted some kind of superpower, and picked "Grant."
Because of this, I was now able to use my powers.
I don't remember what happened, though.

There's another bit of a dream that I remember.
Me and my dad were on the edge of the highway with another car. We and the people from that car were all standing around with a bunch of bags and stuffed animals. My dad loaded the stuffed animals into the back of our car, and the other people loaded the suitcases into their own car. I sat in the passenger seat to wait. My dad got in the car and started driving away all of a sudden. I yelled at him wondering what the heck he was doing; Half of our stuff hadn't been packed and the trunk was open so that everything in it was falling out. I insisted he turn around.
      I woke up after that.

      12/3/10 - Parting Kiss
      Dream Non-Dream Lucid

I was in my school with a bunch of other kids, late at night. I didn't know any of them except for this cute blond guy around my age; I think I had a crush on him or something.
Apparently we were locked in for some unknown reason, and everyone was pretty much cool with it except me because there was somewhere else I had to be.
I snuck off from the group and made my way towards the school gate to try and get out. The blonde guy followed me.
There were some obstacles or security of some sort that we had to get through, I don't really remember, but by the time we got to the gate we had some romantic moments or something. Again, I don't remember.
So at the gate, he helped me pry it open and I just barely slipped through. The gate then snapped back into place and he was unable to move it again.
I was outside, he was inside. I asked if I'd ever see him again, and he said, "I don't know, but here's something to remember me by," and we kissed through the bars of the gate.
After we parted, I ran off down the dark street and woke up.
    6. Crowbars

      by , 06-07-2010 at 03:38 AM
      6/6/10 - Crowbars
      Dream Non-dream Lucid

I was outside of a large white house. I was in the backyard, and the house's sliding glass back door was open. Somehow I was lucid. I was just about to go off and explore when five or six guys with crowbars appeared. I figured fighting them would ruin my lucidity, so I tried to dream spin my way out of the situation. Nothing happened.

The crowbar dudes closed in on me. There was no escaping now; I grabbed a crowbar of my own out of thin air and lunged at the nearest guy.

After beating most of the men to a pulp, I was done; someone seemed to have punched me in the stomach, which would explain how I ended up hunched over on the ground, panting.

Three men left, one pretty hot(as in sexy, not sweaty), and they looked murderous. Somehow I talked my way out of it, saying that I didn't care if they robbed the big white house (it wasn't mine), and that I really needed to be somewhere so just leave me alone and go rob the house.

      Sadly, I woke up.

      5/27/10 - Enchanted Retreat

      Dream Non-Dream Lucid

I was on a class trip of some sort to a week-long retreat. It wasn't anything to do with school; this retreat was to help us learn magic. The building reminded me of a boarding school without classrooms, if that makes sense. It also had a pool out back and was near a beach and some marsh.

The girls and boys were split up. There were about ten in each group. I don't know where the boys went, but the girls just went on a random walk on the beach.

On our way back from the beach, I noticed some black sand. One girl explained that it was black because a giant squid had exploded.

The next day, we learned to fly. All of the girls were standing around the pool with broomsticks. We were supposed to concentrate on hovering.

Hardly anyone could get it right. Mary and I were somehow able to fly around a bit. Apparently we were "talented."

I was so excited that I started flying around the marsh, dipping down low and then flying high. It was difficult but I somehow managed.... until I landed. When I got back to the pool, my broom snapped. Whoops. Apparently, it had been given to me by a kind neighbor of Hannah's.

      Oh well.

On the third day, the entire class just hung out by the pool while we waited for our parents to come pick us up. When mine arrived, they wanted to see what I'd learned.

I went to the broom closet and found a new broom. When I came out, I noticed Mary showing off her skill and smirked. I could do better. I pushed off the ground hard and flew high over the marsh. I circled a few times before landing in front of my parents. They looked impressed, but not entirely shocked. I guess they've seen flying broomsticks before.

I woke as we were driving home.

      5/11/10 - The Neighborhood Creeper
      Dream Non-dream Lucid

I was at my house, in the living room. My dad had been talking with some neighbors and came to tell me what they'd said. I could tell there was something weird going on.
"Autumn," he told me, "I need you to keep an eye out for a strange guy in a hooded jacket. He is the neighborhood creeper and will steal all our silverware, so please watch out." He then left.
I peeked out the window. Coming towards the house, across the lawn, was a creepy-looking guy of about thirty wearing a red hoodie. I quickly tiptoed over to the front door and locked it. Then I crept back to the window. The guy was right there in front of me! I tried to hide, but he spotted me. He walked through the wall itself and stood in front of me. I made a mean face, attempting to scare him off, but he just laughed. He looked straight at me and suddenly his face transformed. It was hideous, with huge eyes that spun as though he were trying to hypnotize me. I realized that was exactly what he was doing.
I covered my eyes to protect myself, but couldn't resist a peek. The creeper was right up in my face. I blacked out.
When I "woke", I was sitting in a chair in my living room. We talked about something I don't recall.
Then my dad walked in. "Oh, hi," he said, "Who's this?"
The neighborhood creeper glared at me so I replied, "He's.... a friend, Dad."
"Well that's fine then!" said my dad cheerily before retreating to another room.

I was still pissed at my dad when I woke up.

      by , 05-05-2010 at 05:33 AM
5/5/10 - Dragon Warrior of Time
      Dream Non-dream Lucid

It began as a continuation of the chapter of The Fire Eternal by Chris D'lacey that I'd just read. I was 16-year-old Lucy Pennykettle, sitting in the office of Tam Farrell, a guy who writes for some newspaper. He had just told security to leave us alone. I asked him, "How'd you know it was me? Did the dragons restore your memory?" He nodded and started pacing the room.
Then the scene changed and I was myself in my old school lunchroom with Bergstrom, another book character. He told me a "great evil" was coming and I was chosen to fight it. "Be prepared," he said, then disappeared. I held an Inuit charm he'd given me and shook it, calling out to the Pennykettle dragons for help. Nothing happened. I tried again, this time calling a specific dragon. "G'reth," I called, "G'reth!" Again, no response. I sighed and hung the charm around my neck by a string, like a lucky necklace. I figured the dragons' fire had been snuffed out by the "great evil" and I'd have to wait to revive them.
I exited the lunchroom and started toward the main school building when I heard a creaking noise. There was a trailer next to the lunchroom, and it was falling over, straight towards me. I frowned at it and pointed with my right hand. "Sit still," I commanded. It rocked back into place and stayed there, giving me a smug feeling of satisfaction.
I went into the school building and looked around. Nothing was happening. Nobody was at school. I figured I'd take care of the "great evil" later and looked at my watch, which in the dream was a time-turner. I turned it back three or four days and checked out my surroundings. Kids were all over - a normal school day. I decided to seek out someone I knew and found Bee. I showed her my time-turning watch, but she didn't believe me about it so I tried to prove it. We went a few days into the future, and......

I woke up, or rather, was woken up.

      4/26/10 - Deletion
      Dream Non-dream Lucid

I was in a large white room with no furniture. I was having a conversation with Hannah and Riley about lucid dreaming, and somehow I knew we were all in a dream. I think Jonathan was there, too, but he never said anything.
I remembered that we were supposed to go to the moon. I also knew that Hannah and Riley were merely DC's, and that talking to them too much would hinder my lucidity, so I told them to meet me at the moon later. They said it was cool and left. Mission accomplished... almost.
Next I decided to test my dream control. I noticed two creepy old people in the corner of the room and wished they'd go away, so (using a technique found on DV) I pointed at the old lady and said, "Delete." Nothing happened. I tried again, more forceful this time. "DELETE." Slowly, the old lady faded away. I grinned in triumph and then deleted the old man more easily, but the entire room disappeared too.
      Oops.
I was outdoors now, and looked up at the moon. Time to go. It was huge in the sky, and very pretty. I figured a portal would be the fastest way to get there, so I started moving my hands in a sort of circular motion. Nothing happened, no matter how hard I concentrated.

My dad then decided to wake me up. Grr.

Maybe next time I should try using music to make a portal, like how Raven Knight does it.

    11. The Disappearing Cruise Ship

      by , 04-17-2010 at 05:16 AM
4/17/10 - The Disappearing Cruise Ship
      Dream Non-dream Lucid

I was on a huge cruise ship with my grandma and second cousin. The ship was extremely luxurious and beautiful, with lots of extra features. We took an elevator up several floors to a shopping center. Apparently my cousin needed some bras. We went into a small shop with lots of clothes on shelves along the wall, and others in large baskets. My grandma had to dig through a whole basket to find Allie's bra size.
When we were finally about to leave, something really weird happened that no one else seemed to notice. Suddenly, everyone - including myself - was eight or more years younger than they had been before! Which made me about four or five years old. Allie had disappeared altogether, and my grandma looked about the same but with less gray hair and wrinkles. One thing everyone knew was, somehow, the cruise ship was about to disappear. We all rushed into the elevator in a panic, trying to escape. How stupid. Before we could go down even a single floor, the cruise ship vanished from around us, and we fell into the river. People were falling out of the sky and on top of eachother. Because the ship had been docked, many were fortunate enough to land in water right by the dock itself and scramble out. Myself included. I stood on the dock and looked around desperately for my grandma. It seems I only cared about her safety and not that of my cousin - or even my own brother, who I had spotted further down the dock and who had miraculously escaped the effects of the time warp. I continued searching for my grandma, crying because I thought she'd drowned, until some rescue guy came to take me away.
Then I was back on the cruise ship with my grandma and Allie, shopping for that bra and back to age 13. Supposedly my previous experience had been a vision of the future. I wasted no time. Quickly I grabbed my grandma's hand and pulled her to the stairway. Then the weird age/time shift happened again. Nobody noticed but me, once again. I told my grandma I had something important to do and I guess she decided to humor her cute little granddaughter because we began running down the stairs as fast as possible. I passed my brother, Will, on the way. "You had the vision too?" I asked. He nodded. "We have to get out of here." Will reassured me, "I'll be fine, just take Meme [our grandma] and get out of here." I took my grandma's hand and ran ahead, off the ship and onto the dock. We went on to a small shopping center nearby and found my mom. The ship still hadn't disappeared yet but I knew it would soon. My grandma kept wanting to leave me with my mom so she could get back on the cruise ship. I insisted she stay on land, going so far as to tell her about my vision. She dismissed it as a childish story and went back anyway.

      I woke up.

You may not have noticed but I've never been on a cruise ship before.

    12. The Fire Lizard

      by , 04-15-2010 at 05:11 AM
      4/15/10 - The Fire Lizard
      Dream Non-Dream Lucid

I am having a false awakening. My bedroom is very realistic, and my cat, Patches, is next to me - exactly where he was sleeping IRL. I hear an odd scratching noise and believe that it is a cockroach. The noise is coming from my bedside table, where I had left a Chex Mix Bar wrapper. I finish eating said Chex Mix Bar and prepare to squash the roach, hoping that Patches will be heroic and help me out.
I squint into the darkness to see if I can spot the roach. I see the silhouette of something, but it's no roach. Sitting on my bedside table, wrapped around my lamp is the biggest lizard I've ever seen! It growls at me and leaps off the nightstand, onto the ground. I jump out of bed and follow it into the hallway, where it runs downstairs hissing and spitting. There aren't any lights on so I can barely see anything. I go to the bathroom and try the light switch. They won't turn on. That's when I realize that this is a fire lizard, and it's using anything electronic or that runs on electricity to gain energy for itself.
Immediately I run into my room. Patches is right where I left him. Lazy cat. He meows rather hoarsely but I ignore him. I have more important things to attend to. After checking the lights in my room to see if they work -which they don't - I hurriedly unplug my iHome charger and grab my iPod Touch, climbing on top of my bed with it. Good thing too, for mere seconds later the lizard is back. It growls from somewhere in my room, and I see a glint of light on the floor by my bed. I reach down and scoop it up. The lizard squirms in my hands, its little claws scratching at me. It also starts to breathe fire into the air so I quickly rip it in half to keep it from burning my face off. Ew.
I throw the carcass on the ground, disgusted. Patches still just sits there, and I glare at him a bit before going back to sleep.

The next morning, my family discovers that half the lights in our house aren't working. I try to explain what happened to my mom, and tell her about the dead lizard on the floor in my room, but my voice is so hoarse that I can't speak. Patches is hoarse as well. I remember that I am the only one who can see mythical creatures anyway, and that the dead lizard has probably already disappeared. Soon after I wake up.

I also remember another dream - something about a road trip - and the pink-and-blonde-haired girl from the movie Push was in it. Huh.
