The first step to getting my recall back!

I remember two short dreams from last night, which I guess is pretty good, but I don't think my recall is anywhere good enough to be able to remember the things I would want to do in LDs. I used to have pretty good recall and then summer messed it all up, so hopefully I can refresh myself quickly.
Dream 1: A Tornado
I just now realized I was reading this post by WakingNomad soon before I went to sleep and I'm 100% sure that's where this dream came from.
I was in a car with my mom driving on a curvy road through a dense forest much like you would see in a car commercial. We finally arrived at a beach. There was a big group of people I didn't know there (I often see people I don't know in real life in dreams, but recognize them as generic "friends". These people were generic strangers) as if I was getting dropped of at camp or something. We stood on the beach for a while and then the sky turned greyish yellow.
All of a sudden my mom and I were standing outside a log cabin. We walked in and from the inside it looked exactly like a normal room (no logs or anything). The walls were color changing (white to blue to yellow) and there were a bunch of windows in the room but I don't remember much else about the inside. My mom and I spent a long time looking out the windows amazed at what was happening. There was a storm outside but there was no rain and no thunder. There were clouds and a strange constant sizzling sound coming from the sky. The sky then lit up light a nightlight and a giant grey tornado began moving towards us. My mom said "Hey! Let's get the trashcan!" We ran down a long grey flight of stairs that wasn't there before until we reached a giant trashcan (about 4 times the size of a normal one). I can't remember anything else.
Dream 2: Stationary Store
I was in Osaka, Japan (I recognized one of the buildings) with a generic friend (or I just can't remember who it actually was) and we were standing on a street corner extremely bored. Then I saw what I thought was a Sanrio store behind me. I said something similar to, "Let's go in there, it's less boring." We walked in and it wasn't actually a sanrio store, just a generic stationary store. The lady working there wasn't Japanese either, she was Kitty from That 70s Show. I have no idea what else happened.
