    1. Fun WILD

by , 06-30-2012 at 04:42 PM (WILD Dream Journal)
Wanted to post a quick update before getting into my dream. I've been trying to become a more natural lucid dreamer which is probably why its been 2 weeks+ since having my last lucid dream. Originally, I dove straight into WBTB and had a lot of success with it when I was taking naps during the day but since I have stopped and decided to try WILD on the weekends after the majority of my sleep.
After having 5 successful WILDs and a handful of lucid dreams I've noticed a level of control inside my non lucid dreams that I never had before. It seems like I make decisions and influence dreams understanding that no harm can come to me. In the rare cases that I feel fear any more in a dream I wake myself up immediately. My dreams have become more enjoyable in general and more interesting then the dreams I recall having before trying lucid dreaming.

Last night I fell asleep an hour and a half later then normal. I woke up in-between my REM cycles twice and the third time I woke up (7:30) I helped my GF take out the trash. After I went back to bed and began attempting WILD. My body was very tired, which I think was a result of me going to bed later then normal and I found myself very relaxed when I laid down. I didn't have to clear my mind much before imagery came on. The imagery I experienced resulted from my thoughts. I was picturing my cabinets and what was inside, I could not remember what was in the middle shelf and when I finally remembered the imagery became very strong and it was almost like I was looking right at my cabinet. Shortly after this I felt a moderate to strong vibration throughout my entire body, it was like I was bouncing up and down in my bed. I recognized this as a transition and tried to stabilize my dream to quickly and found myself awake in my bed deep in sleep paralysis.

After this failed transition I moved because the sleep paralysis I was experiencing was fairly uncomfortable on my neck. After struggling with a lot of thoughts I tried clearing my mind and suddenly without any imagery I was falling to my right. This transition was much stronger then the vibrations and I slowly tried to stabilize my fall I imagined I was using a jet pack and slowly leaned left then back right and shortly after the falling sensation subsided.

I purposely did not try to visualize any kind of dream scape and just opened my eyes. I found myself laying in a bed inside a room I have no memory of. When I felt stabilized I began trying to say my name out loud. I found myself unable to speak so I began projecting my thoughts very loudly and clearly inside my dream. I stated my name multiple times and I tried to remember what day it was. It took me a second but I remembered that it was Saturday morning. After projecting it was Saturday morning I tried to remember what I had done recently and the only thing I was able to think of was that I had awaken and fallen back asleep.

After stating these I tried to get out of the bed and found myself unable to move. I tried pulling myself out and after failing I decided I would try to transition to a new dreamscape. I closed my eyes and tried to spin, this came very naturally and I found myself rolling slowly to my right and down. After 3 rolls I opened my eyes and found myself in a bedroom very similar to the one I was in but I was floating in the air. I turned to my right and saw a doorway and I floated over to it. As I approached it I noticed there was huge trim on the walls. I decided to float on the top edge of the trim and used it as a guide. As I was floating across it I came to an corner, on the other side of the corner was a set of stairs. I could see a concrete floor at the bottom. I paused at the corner and clinched my legs on either side. I looked at my hand and shoved my right index finger through my left palm at first only a little was coming through but slowly the left side of my top palm began stretching, the part I was stretching was turning red and I remember thinking "this is the kind of stuff you can do in dreams, this is awesome" then I pushed myself down the trim piece and found myself inside of a very large garage. Directly in front of me was a small red and black pocket bike that was taken apart into pieces. to the left of the pocket bike was a cheap card table that had a computer screen on it and there was a chair pushed into the card table. I floated past the computer and pocket bike and saw a really nice bright red car to the right parked in the garage. I do not recall what model or make it was but I turned back to my left and saw an open garage door which I walked through.

After walking through the garage door I was outside and there was a small electric fence I had to hop over. Then I recall looking at the lawn and thinking that I knew exactly where I was, I thought I was in the town I grew up in and the lawn looked very familiar. In the center of the lawn was a bright red jacked up truck. It was a lawn decoration and there was a sign placed on the truck. I did not read the sign and I looked to my left where there was a road. Parked on the road was a huge monster truck. After looking at the truck for a little bit I turned back around to my right and without realizing it the garage I walked out from had disappeared and was replaced by another two bay garage. I remember seeing a really nice road bike on display inside of the garage and I floated over to it. I remember inspecting the bike then as I got to the bag that was sitting above the seat, almost like a backrest it had a logo on it which I tried to read. The logo said in a very nice design New Persona and after looking at the bike a little longer my dream quickly faded, it was nearly instant and it felt almost like my REM cycle had ended. I was not excited and I do not think my excitement etc. was the reason for this dream ending.

The entire feeling I had through the dream was "this is awesome" the dream was full of very high detail and lasted for what felt like 5-10 minutes. It was a lot of fun and a relief after not having one for some time.

    2. Dryspell ended with another WILD

by , 06-12-2012 at 12:32 PM (WILD Dream Journal)
All week I have been adjusting my alarms trying to figure out when my REM cycles begin. When ever I was setting alarms I found myself waking up 2-3 minutes before them and instead of finding my REM cycles I think I was interrupting my sleep cycles. I've tried anywhere from 1 minute WBTBs to an hour and a half WBTBs and nothing was seeming to work. Last night I went back to what gave me my success and was rewarded with a brief WILD. From this I've learned its best to use my natural awakenings in the night when attempting WILD.

I naturally woke up at around 2 and 4:30 last night. At 2 I decided just to go back to bed and at 4:30 I decided to WBTB. I stayed up for about 20 minutes and went back to sleep. I almost had a transition then my GF started shifting in the bed and woke me up. So I moved into another position and started again. Shortly after I found myself experiencing very strong imagery. This was the first time I experienced bright blocks of vivid colors. I stayed calm and passive and after about 2 minutes I found myself floating forward. As I was entering my dream it felt very unstable so I quickly tried to stabilize and after feeling comfortable I stated my first and last name very clearly. At this point I was in a black void and I was unsure of what to visualize. I was just observing and in the distance I saw what looked like a picture frame. I tried to pull myself into the scene but was unsuccessful. I decided to close my dream eyes and I do not recall visualizing much but upon opening my eyes I found myself in a kitchen that resembled one I am familiar with in reality. To my right was a sliding glass door, to my left was a hallway. I looked outside it briefly and recall seeing a deck outside. Then I turned to my left and began walking down the hallway. While I was walking down the hall I was thinking about what to do. First thing that came to mind was a reality check. I wanted to remind myself why I do reality checks throughout the day. I stopped and examined my fingers and began pushing my right index finger through my left palm. I looked closely and recall thinking that the detail of my hand was fairly accurate. I placed my palm face up and pulled my finger out and watched my palm heal almost instantly. I turned to my right and there was a flight of stairs. I began walking up the stairs which had a set of double doors at the top. I began visualizing that through the doors would be a dream scene I've been studying from a National Geographic. As I became closer to the door my dream began to fade to black. I was to focused on visualizing to realize I needed to stabilize my dream and shortly after I found myself awake in my bed.

While this wasn't the best WILD I've had it was a relief after struggling through the week. I think I've found what works best for me though and I will be sticking to it.

    3. Disappointing WILD

by , 06-04-2012 at 04:17 PM (WILD Dream Journal)
As I was getting ready for bed I set my alarm slightly earlier then last night and took a mental note telling myself to wake up before my alarm.

Fell asleep, and I found myself awake a couple minutes before my alarm was scheduled to go off. I walked to the bathroom, emptied my bladder then I walked into the guest bedroom laid down and began attempting WILD shortly after. I recall this transition taking quite a long time. I was getting more imagery then I previously experienced and my transition lasted for what felt like 3-4 minutes.

I remained patient and found myself experiencing a falling sensation. As I felt myself falling I focused on closing my eyes and after the sensation stopped I opened them. I found myself laying down in a bed within a log cabin. I got up quickly and remember being very excited to begin my dream. On a bench next to the bed sat my dog. After getting up I decided I wanted to interact with my surroundings in my dream prior to trying the planned events I had. I began asking my dog questions and talking to her expecting some kind of answer. Instead she just stared at me with a blank stare.
After trying to talk to her for a bit I wanted to go outside. I opened the door and found a flight of wooden steps. The steps were fairly long and led to a similar valley that I had experienced last night in my dream. I remember looking around and there was a path to the left of the stairs. When I noticed this path I saw a figure walking down the path and as he approached I remember looking at his top hat in detail. He had papers in his hand and he was happily skipping down the trail.
As he came closer I asked him who he was. As I asked him this question he threw all his papers in the air and I found myself staring at all the papers. Each paper had different things of significance on them and they really grabbed my attention.
Soon after he dropped all his papers the dream transitioned into a fully snow covered ski trail. The dream character had fallen on his skis and there were two people around him trying to lift him up. I recall approaching him and as I got close to him I turned my head to keep him centered and recall seeing an isle behind him. It looked like an isle in a grocery store and shortly after seeing this isle I woke up.

I lost lucidity after talking to the dream character. I believe the papers triggered my focus and made me forget that I was dreaming. Tonight I think I rushed into my dream and when I obtain lucidity again I am planning on stabilizing my dream before interacting with it.

    4. WILD w/ two successful teleportations

      6/3 - WILD w/ two successful teleportations

The last couple nights I've been struggling with WILD after having two quick successes I was beginning to lose confidence. Last night instead of my normal WBTB I calculated when my REM cycles started based off when I would naturally wake up every night. I entered an alarm targeting my second REM cycle because I usually have fairly vivid and long dreams during that period.

I found myself awake with a very odd sensation. At the time I thought my alarm had brought me to waking state and I had very strong imagery. I decided to start WILD right away and about 5 minutes into the technique my alarm shocked me awake. I became wide awake and unable to sleep for about an hour.
The entire hour I was trying to fall asleep but I was unable to become relaxed. Finally I felt my body enter SP and I began attempting WILD.

Soon after I found myself falling into my dream. I became very excited because of how much I have been struggling the past couple days. I felt myself waking up and I quickly attempted to stabilize. My stabilization worked and I found myself in a black void. I closed my dream eyes and began visualizing my room. After visualizing I opened my eyes and found myself right where I envisioned. I was quite surprised and began walking around my house. After exploring I walked back into the room that my GF was in and she began talking to me while she was sleeping. I got the feeling she was trying to convince me this was a dream so I sprinted through the door and went into the bathroom.

At this point I began thinking about what I had planned for my next dream. I wanted to use the bathroom mirror to teleport into a land that would begin all of my dreams. I remember staring in the mirror and having a surprisingly vivid image of myself staring back at me. After observing the image I pushed my arms into the mirror. My arms went through the mirror like water. I began visualizing a wooded scene where I wanted to begin my dream. After thinking about trees and sunlight and buildings I pushed my way through the mirror and found myself placed in a valley surrounded by trees. I quickly took in my surroundings and turned to my right and there I found a old building with a wooden door covered in vines. I walked over to the door and tried to visualize a new area inside.

Upon opening the door I found myself in a room with a dirt floor, in the center of the room there was a small door. I walked over to it, opened it and there was about two inches of dug up earth below it. I turned away from the door and noticed there were no walls behind me. I walked outside the building and noticed quite a few abandoned homes that had missing walls and some that were complete with damaged air conditioners in the windows.

As I walked down the path I noticed a playground on the right side of the path. There were 3 dream characters playing on a swing set. As I approached them I said "This is a dream, you are within my dream" They tried to tell me this wasn't a dream and I replied by saying "If this was reality would I do this?" and I followed by ripping off all of my clothing.

I do not recall how the dream scene ended but soon after I found myself back within my room. At this point I was unsure if I was inside a dream. I walked into my bathroom and pressed hard on the mirror. My finger pushed slightly into the mirror and I recall thinking how crafty my mind was trying to make me think I was dreaming again. As I pushed my finger through the mirror I noticed my dog running over to me. I began floating and pushed myself into the next room. I recall interacting with my dog and shortly after I woke up.
