    1. Very Short WILD

by , 09-15-2012 at 02:28 PM (WILD Dream Journal)
      9/15 - Short WILD

Used WBTB for about 45 minutes after waking up at 6

After laying down it took awhile to reach imagery. After reaching imagery the first time I paid to much attention to it and set myself back a bit, the next couple times the same thing happened but after a few tries I made it to a transition. My transition was a flash of white followed by the pattern that is on my blanket. I kept my eyes closed, letting the imagery fade and tried to let my dream stabilize before attempting anything. After waiting for about a minute in a black void I opened my dream eyes and found myself in a bed wrapped in covers. The images were very groggy, as I stood up I kept repeating clarity and my dream became noticeably more vivid but nothing like the level of detail I've experienced in the past. Next to the bed was a large bay window and outside of the window sat 4 empty beach chairs fully reclined on a concrete patio that was surrounded by trees. I decided I wanted to go outside so I tried to walk through the window. My attempt was unsuccessful so I walked back and ran into the window trying to pass through it. This time I slammed into the window, again failing to pass through it. As this happened people appeared outside of the window and began walking towards me. They were nonthreatening and seemed to wonder why I was running into the window. As I began to think about how to pass through the window my dream faded without me noticing and I could hear the familiar sound of my bedroom fan.

After this WILD I attempted two more. Both attempts failed and I slipped into non-lucid dreams that were very odd. One involved a FA that I never acknowledged until waking up and the other involved a group of people and a car pulling up to me demanding that I get in. After declining and walking away I had a small child tell me it was time to go on my journey and that I needed to go with the car.

Both the dreams were very thought provoking and while I did not experience the best WILD the dreams that came following the WILD were well worth the effort put into the attempts.

    2. Worst WILD yet

by , 08-12-2012 at 01:44 PM (WILD Dream Journal)
      8/12/12 -> WILD

Woke up around 4 am naturally, went on the computer for about 20 minutes. Started to feel pretty tired so I made my way back to bed.

Decided to put real effort into a WILD attempt. Felt my body go through SP followed by imagery. My transition this time was quite odd. As I went into my dream I experienced a feeling I could best describe as being dizzy. It seemed like my entire body was dizzy.

After a 15-20 second period experiencing this dizzy feeling I found myself with a full field of vision inside my bed. I rolled to my left off the bed and right where I was landing stood a dream character bright yellow and slightly shorter then my bed height. The DC looked very similar to this but wider.

I became startled, closed my eyes quickly and started rubbing my hands. The sensation of rubbing my hands was incredibly strong. It felt just like I was rubbing my hands with my eyes closed in reality. I knew I was still inside my dream and I continued rubbing them. I experienced the hand rubbing sensation for between 5-10 seconds and I felt the familiar feeling of my heart pounding and a familiar black backdrop. I knew I had failed in my dream stabilization and I was awake deep in SP.

I attempted DEILD but failed, shifted positions and attempted WILD a few more times and failed.

This was extremely disappointing. Put a great deal of effort into my first attempt, had a transition and forgot to stabilize my dream correctly.

Just wanted to update my DJ, I've been trying to have lucid dreams naturally with less effort. Here are two backlogged entries, they are not WILDs.

7/29/12 - DILD after failing to notice a WILD transition, first time being able to stabilize my dream after being 100% non lucid.

Quick update since my last post, I've had 3 lucid dreams that resulted in waking up immediately after becoming lucid. I have also been failing WILD a lot. Now to the dream.

I used WBTB at 3am after waking up naturally. Stayed up for over an hour and went back to bed when I began feeling tired. After laying down I attempted WILD in a very lazy manner. A lot of my WILD attempts lately lack persistence. This is due to the way I've successfully had transitions and a lack of effort on my part. Usually when I have transitions I have to 'float' my consciousness into a transition. I've been 'floating' a lot earlier then I normally did and as a result I usually fall asleep into a non lucid dream.

Last night, looking back I experienced a dream transition which I've never experienced before. Usually I have falling or rising sensations, last night however I had a transition which resembled a gunshot. It was very loud and quick. After the gunshot sound I fell into a normal dream. It was a very interesting dream which I decided to write in my dream journal after experiencing it. I began writing on what looked to be some kind of computer screen. I saved it three times and after saving the last one I read the dates and times on the first two, when I got to the third date it was very blurry and unreadable.

At this point I had a very strong realization that I was dreaming. I had a rush which in the past was accompanied by me waking up instantly. This time as I experienced the rush I focused on rolling my body. Rolling didn't seem to work and I was experiencing extreme vibrations that were similar to a dream transition. After my rolling didn't work I tried to rub my hands together and during this my vibrations continued and the hand rubbing still didn't seem to work. I again tried to roll and after rolling failed I switched back to hand rubbing a last time. This time it worked and my dream felt stable.

I closed my dream eyes, cleared my mind and slowly opened them not trying to influence my dream. I woke up inside a home with my girlfriend by my side. We were both naked and I decided to fly out of the room I was in. I flew up and without even thinking I went right through the roof into the clouds.

Shortly after my girlfriend appeared by my side again, she was flying by my side. I accelerated to a high speed. The clouds in my dream could not keep up with my pace and my field of vision was became pixelated. While flying I unintentionally switched my vision into some kind of targeting mode, every cloud had a label with a line attached with a single line description. They were blue and red in color.

After this I decided I wanted to land. I flew down and without thinking I was placed into my parents home with my girlfriend. We were in an embrace upon landing and as I realized where I was I decided to explore my surroundings. I jumped out the window and landed on the ground mid stride. I looked at the neighbors homes while running down the road. The all seemed to have accurate details.

As I reached the bend in the road there was a home with a massive deck that I didn't recognize. I walked up on the deck and found a door that was cracked open. I walked inside the door and found myself in a beautiful roman style home. There was very detailed marble and tile work in the massive foyer. There was a staircase that wound up in a very long half circle.

The handrails were very detailed carved wood. I walked up the steps and as I reached the top I found a doorway in front of me and I stepped inside. I was placed inside another beautiful room with similar style. The walls had very little drywall, most of the wall was covered in marble/tile work but the sections that were drywall were painted purple. Shortly after entering this room my dream ended and I found myself awake on my bed.

Notes: WBTB stayed up until I felt very tired then attempted WILD, had dream transition but failed to identify it. Earplugs, light canceling mask, no background noise.

8/10/12 - Lucid dream, became lucid without recalling any kind of realization or transition.

At roughly 3am I woke myself up in the middle of a dream after having an altercation with a dream character. Upon waking up I was groggy and my body felt extremely tired and heavy. I got up and went to the bathroom to get a glass of water. After drinking the water I laid down and fell asleep very quickly.

The lucid dream I had was very long and some of the details in the beginning of my dream became vague by the end but I can recall the main events that were happening. My dream recall started while I was in a very tall stone and mortar building. I was in a side room by myself with a hallway that had a jail cell door separating me from the main hall. Inside the room was a window that overlooked a vast desert mountain range. I recall thinking that the room was very high off the ground (10+ stories). As I came to grips with my surrounding I floated effortlessly through the jail cell door. The main hall had no roof and a large amount of workers inside it.
They all seemed to be working on the stone mortar joints. I flew around to the different people and talked to them but I do not recall what our conversations included. After carrying multiple conversations with the workers I went back to the room down the hall and looked out the window. After admiring the landscape, I flew out of the window and experienced extreme sensations through my body, it truly felt like I was flying. After a short flight I closed my eyes and thought about teleporting. I recall spinning for a long time.

The spinning sensation was very strong, the strongest I've ever felt and after opening my eyes I found myself outside of two homes with grass in-between. Most of my family was along my side and they were having conversations with each other. I asked them if they were in control of their dreams. They replied no and I began explaining how they were in my dream and they were free to do whatever they desired. They did not seem to grasp what I was explaining and I recall my grand mom asking my sister about what she was eating. My sister explained that one food in particular she stopped eating because she read it was harmful to baby development. They all seemed content talking amongst each other and I decided it was time for me to go. I told everyone I was going to leave and it was nice seeing them. Everyone huddled around me and I closed my eyes and teleported to a new room.

This room had royal purple walls with a white ceiling. There was a stained wood door and a card table with a computer in the room. The rest of the room was empty. I recall being disappointed but the PC in the room was startling me. As I looked at it, the pictures and words were incredibly clear and accurate. At this point I started to lose focus in my dream and felt my extreme level of awareness slowly decrease. After inspecting the computer for awhile I closed my eyes and tried to wake up.

As I opened my eyes I found myself in my room. I was very cold and my girlfriend had most of the blanket. I had a feeling that I was still in a dream but it was unclear. I stood up and walked into the bathroom and noticed water puddles on the floor. The feeling I had when I walked over the wet carpet didn't match the feelings from reality so I became increasingly suspicious. I asked my girlfriend to come look at the water. We went from the bathroom into the dogs room and there were puddles a couple inches deep throughout the room. While we were walking through the lights seemed to be dim and without any recollection of how it happened I had a flashlight in my hand. I clicked on the flashlight and we made our way up the attic.

As we walked through the attic I kept trying to turn on the lights and none of them were working. I thought we must have kicked a breaker. We continued to make our way through the attic and I noted there was no water on the floor. As we came to the end of the attic my girlfriend walked into strings that were hung from the ceiling. They were little pieces of garlic that had been cut in half and hung. She began panicking and I woke myself up.

After awaking I held my nose to confirm I had actually awaken in my bed and my girlfriend was awake. She had been having a nightmare and we discussed our dreams with each other.

Notes: Had a drink of alcohol before bed, went to bed at 11:30, woke up in the middle of dream naturally from occurrences in dream. Very groggy fell back asleep within 2 minutes of waking up. Dream lasted well over an hour.
    3. Dryspell ended with another WILD

by , 06-12-2012 at 12:32 PM (WILD Dream Journal)
All week I have been adjusting my alarms trying to figure out when my REM cycles begin. When ever I was setting alarms I found myself waking up 2-3 minutes before them and instead of finding my REM cycles I think I was interrupting my sleep cycles. I've tried anywhere from 1 minute WBTBs to an hour and a half WBTBs and nothing was seeming to work. Last night I went back to what gave me my success and was rewarded with a brief WILD. From this I've learned its best to use my natural awakenings in the night when attempting WILD.

I naturally woke up at around 2 and 4:30 last night. At 2 I decided just to go back to bed and at 4:30 I decided to WBTB. I stayed up for about 20 minutes and went back to sleep. I almost had a transition then my GF started shifting in the bed and woke me up. So I moved into another position and started again. Shortly after I found myself experiencing very strong imagery. This was the first time I experienced bright blocks of vivid colors. I stayed calm and passive and after about 2 minutes I found myself floating forward. As I was entering my dream it felt very unstable so I quickly tried to stabilize and after feeling comfortable I stated my first and last name very clearly. At this point I was in a black void and I was unsure of what to visualize. I was just observing and in the distance I saw what looked like a picture frame. I tried to pull myself into the scene but was unsuccessful. I decided to close my dream eyes and I do not recall visualizing much but upon opening my eyes I found myself in a kitchen that resembled one I am familiar with in reality. To my right was a sliding glass door, to my left was a hallway. I looked outside it briefly and recall seeing a deck outside. Then I turned to my left and began walking down the hallway. While I was walking down the hall I was thinking about what to do. First thing that came to mind was a reality check. I wanted to remind myself why I do reality checks throughout the day. I stopped and examined my fingers and began pushing my right index finger through my left palm. I looked closely and recall thinking that the detail of my hand was fairly accurate. I placed my palm face up and pulled my finger out and watched my palm heal almost instantly. I turned to my right and there was a flight of stairs. I began walking up the stairs which had a set of double doors at the top. I began visualizing that through the doors would be a dream scene I've been studying from a National Geographic. As I became closer to the door my dream began to fade to black. I was to focused on visualizing to realize I needed to stabilize my dream and shortly after I found myself awake in my bed.

While this wasn't the best WILD I've had it was a relief after struggling through the week. I think I've found what works best for me though and I will be sticking to it.

    4. Disappointing WILD

by , 06-04-2012 at 04:17 PM (WILD Dream Journal)
As I was getting ready for bed I set my alarm slightly earlier then last night and took a mental note telling myself to wake up before my alarm.

Fell asleep, and I found myself awake a couple minutes before my alarm was scheduled to go off. I walked to the bathroom, emptied my bladder then I walked into the guest bedroom laid down and began attempting WILD shortly after. I recall this transition taking quite a long time. I was getting more imagery then I previously experienced and my transition lasted for what felt like 3-4 minutes.

I remained patient and found myself experiencing a falling sensation. As I felt myself falling I focused on closing my eyes and after the sensation stopped I opened them. I found myself laying down in a bed within a log cabin. I got up quickly and remember being very excited to begin my dream. On a bench next to the bed sat my dog. After getting up I decided I wanted to interact with my surroundings in my dream prior to trying the planned events I had. I began asking my dog questions and talking to her expecting some kind of answer. Instead she just stared at me with a blank stare.
After trying to talk to her for a bit I wanted to go outside. I opened the door and found a flight of wooden steps. The steps were fairly long and led to a similar valley that I had experienced last night in my dream. I remember looking around and there was a path to the left of the stairs. When I noticed this path I saw a figure walking down the path and as he approached I remember looking at his top hat in detail. He had papers in his hand and he was happily skipping down the trail.
As he came closer I asked him who he was. As I asked him this question he threw all his papers in the air and I found myself staring at all the papers. Each paper had different things of significance on them and they really grabbed my attention.
Soon after he dropped all his papers the dream transitioned into a fully snow covered ski trail. The dream character had fallen on his skis and there were two people around him trying to lift him up. I recall approaching him and as I got close to him I turned my head to keep him centered and recall seeing an isle behind him. It looked like an isle in a grocery store and shortly after seeing this isle I woke up.

I lost lucidity after talking to the dream character. I believe the papers triggered my focus and made me forget that I was dreaming. Tonight I think I rushed into my dream and when I obtain lucidity again I am planning on stabilizing my dream before interacting with it.

    5. WILD w/ two successful teleportations

by , 06-03-2012 at 10:57 AM (WILD Dream Journal)
      6/3 - WILD w/ two successful teleportations

The last couple nights I've been struggling with WILD after having two quick successes I was beginning to lose confidence. Last night instead of my normal WBTB I calculated when my REM cycles started based off when I would naturally wake up every night. I entered an alarm targeting my second REM cycle because I usually have fairly vivid and long dreams during that period.

I found myself awake with a very odd sensation. At the time I thought my alarm had brought me to waking state and I had very strong imagery. I decided to start WILD right away and about 5 minutes into the technique my alarm shocked me awake. I became wide awake and unable to sleep for about an hour.
The entire hour I was trying to fall asleep but I was unable to become relaxed. Finally I felt my body enter SP and I began attempting WILD.

Soon after I found myself falling into my dream. I became very excited because of how much I have been struggling the past couple days. I felt myself waking up and I quickly attempted to stabilize. My stabilization worked and I found myself in a black void. I closed my dream eyes and began visualizing my room. After visualizing I opened my eyes and found myself right where I envisioned. I was quite surprised and began walking around my house. After exploring I walked back into the room that my GF was in and she began talking to me while she was sleeping. I got the feeling she was trying to convince me this was a dream so I sprinted through the door and went into the bathroom.

At this point I began thinking about what I had planned for my next dream. I wanted to use the bathroom mirror to teleport into a land that would begin all of my dreams. I remember staring in the mirror and having a surprisingly vivid image of myself staring back at me. After observing the image I pushed my arms into the mirror. My arms went through the mirror like water. I began visualizing a wooded scene where I wanted to begin my dream. After thinking about trees and sunlight and buildings I pushed my way through the mirror and found myself placed in a valley surrounded by trees. I quickly took in my surroundings and turned to my right and there I found a old building with a wooden door covered in vines. I walked over to the door and tried to visualize a new area inside.

Upon opening the door I found myself in a room with a dirt floor, in the center of the room there was a small door. I walked over to it, opened it and there was about two inches of dug up earth below it. I turned away from the door and noticed there were no walls behind me. I walked outside the building and noticed quite a few abandoned homes that had missing walls and some that were complete with damaged air conditioners in the windows.

As I walked down the path I noticed a playground on the right side of the path. There were 3 dream characters playing on a swing set. As I approached them I said "This is a dream, you are within my dream" They tried to tell me this wasn't a dream and I replied by saying "If this was reality would I do this?" and I followed by ripping off all of my clothing.

I do not recall how the dream scene ended but soon after I found myself back within my room. At this point I was unsure if I was inside a dream. I walked into my bathroom and pressed hard on the mirror. My finger pushed slightly into the mirror and I recall thinking how crafty my mind was trying to make me think I was dreaming again. As I pushed my finger through the mirror I noticed my dog running over to me. I began floating and pushed myself into the next room. I recall interacting with my dog and shortly after I woke up.

    6. DILD followed by WILD

by , 05-31-2012 at 03:50 AM (WILD Dream Journal)
5/30 - DILD followed by WILD

Last night I attempted WBTB after my 2nd REM cycle. At approx 3:30 I went on the computer for roughly a half hour. After going back to bed and attempting WILD I fell asleep missing the imagery. I found myself placed in a hallway. Initially I was not aware that I was dreaming but shortly after taking in my surroundings I pieced together that I was indeed dreaming.

As I started to realize I was dreaming I began running. I tried to run down the hallway as fast as possible and soon doors were flying by left and right so fast they were becoming blurry. As I reached the end of the hallway I stopped and In my mind it became very clear that I was dreaming. At this point excitement set in and my dream scape faded to black. As I was losing my dream I remembered to rub my hands together.
Oddly enough I began focusing and could feel the sensation of rubbing my hands together. I found this experience to be weird because within my dreams I never recalled having any type of dream body. When I decided in to rub my hands together in the blackness of my dream it just happened.

After stabilizing my dream I found myself in outer space. I believe this was due to my lack of concentrating on a new dream scape. I saw dots and immediately assumed they were stars in the distance. I recall using a swimming motion to fly closer to the stars (this flying was accompanied by pure excitement and I even recall saying "weeeeeeee"). As I approached the stars began to split. When I got closer to them I began to think they looked like white doves. I flew around for a couple minutes and I do not recall why but soon after I woke up.

This DILD got me very excited and upon waking up I was filled with excitement and as a result I felt wide awake. After writing pages in my dream journal about every little detail I could remember I thought it would be a perfect time to attempt a WILD.
I put my sleep mask on and laid down. Soon sleep paralysis ensued followed by imagery. The transition into my WILD was quick and almost effortless. I recall struggling in my last WILD to enter my dream but last nigh my dream began quickly in a bang of white light.
I woke up inside my dream and found my self laying down on the passenger seat of my truck. I slowly raised my head to find that my truck was driving down the road without any one steering the wheel. After thinking about this for a second suddenly my mind drifted into the beautiful surroundings outside my my window. I looked out my driver side window and there waterfall after waterfall. Above the waterfalls was a perfect blue sky without a cloud in sight and I recall being encapsulated by the amount of detail I was observing.
The colors and images I experienced in my dream were more detailed, colorful and vivid than anything I've ever seen in my conscious life. Thinking about the detail I observed in this dream still amazes me as I am writing this.

After observing the waterfalls for quite some time the waterfalls began to repeat in a pattern of three. Every third waterfall would be the same and they would be separated by a passing tree. I decided that now would be a perfect time to attempt teleportation into a new dream scene. I closed my eyes and began thinking about where to teleport. During my waking life I had a planned dream scape but being in the dream my thought process wandered and I found myself wanting to teleport to my last vacation which was in Las Vegas.
After deciding I quickly said to myself "when I open my eyes I will be in Las Vegas" After saying these words I began a count down from 5 and upon reaching 3 I recall hearing the sounds of slot machines and people chattering. When I opened my eyes I recall seeing a floor pattern forming. The dream scape detail faded quite dramatically but the detail in my dream characters remained vivid. After the floor pattern formed my focus shifted from the flooring to a building I was placed inside. I recall thinking it resembled a college building.
There were a lot of glass windows filled with people and as I started walking I found myself mixed in with a group of three people. I do not know who these people were but they were following me. I decided to explore the building and recall entering a stairwell to get to other floors within the building. As I began climbing the stairs I recall seeing floor after floor of empty space. There were rooms but no people. I kept climbing searching for more places and eventually decided to try to teleport to Las Vegas again. I closed my eyes and repeated "when I open my eyes I will be in Las Vegas" I started a countdown and opened my eyes and found myself in a new area. This was outside and there was a large group of people. At this point I stopped trying to teleport to Las Vegas. I recall thinking about my dog and shortly after I saw her running by. I called her and she stayed with me for the rest of my dream. I recall beginning to walk and I was trying to think of things to do. One of the things that came to mind was a reality check. Even though I was completely aware of my surroundings I became excited at the thought of experiencing a reality check inside of a dream. I looked at my hand, which previously I've never seen in a dream and tried to push my finger through my hand. I focused on it and slowly watched my finger tip disappear and re appear on the other side of my hand. Soon after performing this reality check some kind of authority figure ran up to me and started an altercation. I began to lose my focus in my dream and decided I needed to perform a reality check to bring my awareness back to 100%. I looked down at my hand again and tried pushing my finger through my palm. After pushing for a second I found my finger just sitting in my palm. It would not push through and I recall becoming confused. I returned my focus to the authority figure and recall him bringing out a miniature bat shaped baton. After I saw him pull out a weapon I began thinking this is a dream I know I can push my finger through my hand. I attempted to push really hardly through my hand and after a second I was successful. After doing the reality check I gained confidence and grabbed the baton on the end. I remember squeezing it and my hand began sinking into the bat. I raised my view slightly and began staring at the officer and he slowly began drifting into the air. At this point I let go of the baton and walked away from him. I began thinking about what to do again within my dream and I remembered thinking about my dog and recalling how she just seemed to appear. I decided to attempt to summon my girlfriend into my dream. I closed my eyes and this time instead of saying things I just began visualizing her. My eyes remained closed for a short period of time and I opened then and my girlfriend was staring at me with a blank stare. The level of realism I experienced shocked me and woke me up instantly.

Tonight I will be attempting WBTB again and I am feeling confident about entering another WILD. The lack of effort that it took to enter my dream last night has given me an extreme confidence boost when attempting WILDs. I've noticed my attitude shifting away from conscious anxiousness and towards calm passive states.
