    Humming in the Void

With [S] in our room when it suddenly occurs to me that I'm in a dream. I take my focus of [S] and she seems to disappear out of my awareness. I head out onto a calcony in the middle of the night. I jog my memory for lucid dream goals, and remember my intention to increase my ability to become lucid in the future. I intuitively got the idea to repeatedly rehearse the instant of becoming lucid in a dream. I tried to get myself in the mindset and recreate the feeling itself. This is something I hadn't quite thought about in waking life. It was an interesting experience, but was very difficult to maintain focus through it. The dream loses stability and I find myself in a void state. I decide to begin humming to keep myself alert and begin to try to create the feeling of walking to the next location. I end up appearing in front of a mirror wearing a button-down shirt and looking put-together. I say I am lucid and jump through the mirror. I have a FA at this point in which I talk about my LD to [S].

I never thought about humming, but I suppose this would work because of the vibrations! Awesome!

I actually read about singing in 'Lucid Dreaming:Gateway to the Inner Self" by Robert Waggoner. I've also heared him speak about this in some talks of his. It was the first time I've tried it in a LD, but I'd definiitely say it helped. I tried it during a dream a day or 2 later and it helped me out with stabilizing. Plus it made the dream way more fun/funny for that period.
