    First Lucid in Months!

Ok, tonight I had the first lucid dream in months because I've actually had time to focus on getting back into it. It wasn't a very long experience but I am happy I have started the process. Each dream gets longer and more detailed and then boom I get a short lucid experience. Hopefully this follows with longer and longer lucid ones as well. Here is my color code for all further dream entries.'
Red is for when I am not lucid. Blue is for when I am lucid.

I was in an apartment, in what was supposed to be my bedroom. The TV was on the dresser and a Lady Gaga concert was playing on the screen. It was a new single from her that I did not recognize, but it sounded pretty catchy. She had her hair in a short ponytail and was wearing a purple rock-star dress that reminded me of the 80s. I walked out of the back of my room onto the balcony. I tripped and fell off onto the ground below because the railing was missing from the sides. I started walking through the grass when it struck me as odd that there would be no railing on the balcony. Wait a minute! I'm dreaming!

I immediately became excited. I started walking fast. There was a white sign up ahead. Just to make sure, I did a RC. I looked at the lettering (I couldn't understand what was written there) looked away, and then looked back again. The sign had disappeared altogether the second time. Now I knew for sure. The dream started fading so I started spinning and rubbing my hands together. It took a good minute or two of this before the dream re-appeared. I was laying in bed. I sat up and rubbed my hands again for good measure. The dream stabilized a little bit and I could see more clearly. The floor was concrete and there was an orange plastic chair with metal legs next to a cheap, dusty looking table. There was a small TV stand at the foot of the bed, with one of those old tiny analogue televisions. I stood up and walked over to the table. I picked up a small clipboard that was laying on it, and felt how realistic it was before I set it back down. Everything felt stable enough to proceed. I wanted to find a DC to interact with. I walked out of the bedroom and across a short hallway into another bedroom whose door was left open. There was a man sitting down on the opposite side of a bed who quickly stood up as I entered the room. As soon as I saw him everything immediately went black and I woke up.

Cool. Thanks for some helpful advice here too. I have only a handful of short lucid dreams, I notice after I have one I can't remember my dreams hardly at all for days and then dreams get longer more detailed etc & this is my opportunity for becoming lucid. Also about dream stabilisation, you said you spend a few minutes with this (spinning, rubbing hands etc).. interesting will have to persevere. cheers for that.

Yeah, if you spend time reading the forums and other dream journals, you will find that there are different techniques for each person. For me I think when i rub my hand and spin, my brain cannot process feeling me spinning, rubbing my hands AND feeling myself in bed at the same time - so it stays in the dream. Something of that nature.
