117 His First Words MILD/DILD
I drive into a hospital parking lot and get my son out of the car seat and into my lap. I sit there trying to get him to fall completely asleep. I hear a voice on a speaker. I look and see it looks like a bank drive through.
The nurse says, "The hospital is clooooooosed." Her voice sounds like its coming from my radio.
Unsure, I reply to the radio, "It's ok I'm just getting him to sleep. Driving around helps. And he WAS in the car seat."
She says something back but her voice wakes him and I get annoyed.
Suddenly, I am walking in the hospital. I am trying to get him to go back to sleep gently bouncing and rocking. He looks at me and says what I mistake for "Cheese". Some girl in the waiting area comments about his first words.
I try to get my Galaxy Player from my pocket to record him. I can't believe my wife is not here to witness his first words. Again my son speaks, "Keys". Oh, keys! I look to my right and my wife had keys in her hand. "Keys. I want keys." I look at my wife.
"Can you believe hes talking. His first word was keys!" I am so excited but she acts like its not big deal. She almost seems depressed. This reaction is so opposite of her personality that it dawns on me.
I say, "Oooooh. He is dreaming. I mean, you are dreaming. No, WE are dreaming!"
She just looks at me and blandly says, "Yea".
I feel the dream starting to get dim and collapse. I stop and wait. I almost do a type of meditation because I felt excited and my heart was racing. (probably not the best idea here. I should have stabilized another way. I was hoping to just come out in another scene. I was kicking myself later for not thinking of the basic TOTM) I became calm and felt like I was slowly spinning and floating for a while. Then gradually, I woke up wide awake.
