      Saxton's Workbook

Hi, I'm 18 as of today. I've been interested in lucid dreaming for a very long time, but just recently I've dedicated myself to finally keep consistent. I've been keeping a dream journal which has already enabled me to remember a lot more details and more dreams, but I'm not very consistent with reality checks. I have however been doing reverse reality checks like Sageous recommends in his WILD course, and those have already seem to be boosting my awareness throughout the day.

For some reason the edit tool is not working for me, so i'll just post this here.

I have had only a few lucid dreams throughout the past few years, and the lucidity of those were short lived. They were all DILDs. More recently I have found myself questioning the reality that I am in within my dreams, but I usually get distracted right before I realize i'm dreaming. It's quite frustrating. Do you have any advice on how to maintain clarity of thought during those moments?

      Welcome SaxtonHale!

Yeah, Sageous's awareness is something I recommend to everybody. You questioning reality in dreams is a good sign. Have you tried adding this awareness+RC technique? It's in Collection of techniques for DILD. All you need is just a little extra push to get you lucidity. Good luck

I managed to remember 4 dreams last night! I fell asleep to the mantra "I will wake up after each dream" and it worked. I woke up first after 3 hours, then 4.5, 6, then 7.5. After 6 though I heard my alarm going off in my dream so I tried to wake up. I woke into a false awakening, I could tell because my clock was illegible. I plugged my nose to make sure and I was lucid. I rolled out of bed and fell into water, the experience of which was so realistic and breathtaking that I lost lucidity. I'll be writing these out in more detail in my dream journal.

Awesome job waking up to mantra and remembering your dreams!

And you realized FA and it got you lucid - seems like you had a busy night, ey? Was this your first lucid? Either way, congrats are in order.

Haha, falling into water, surprise surprise! How was it? One of my wishes is to swim more in my lucids. A nice tropical sea would be nice.

Don't worry about waking up. It will get better, if you are able to contain your excitement. Which is easier said than done. Hold on to this exciting feeling and recall it every time you questioning your reality and doing RCs. Your mind will soon start to associate your happiness with your lucidity and will help you achieve both. Happy dreams

Yeah, it was pretty crazy. I remembered how expectation basically runs dreams, so I rolled out of bed and expected to land in water. The feeling was weird, because I felt weightless for a few seconds before slowly being enveloped in water. I think this was just part of how gravity isn't quite right in dreams and how my subconscious didn't have much time to react to my expectation, as I thought of water AS I was falling out of bed. I wasn't fully aware after I had rolled out of bed into the pool, though- I didn't really think about how it was all in my head. I need to work on anchoring my dreams more so that I can really realize the full weight of the lucid dreaming state. This was my first lucid dream for around a year, which is awesome. I didn't realize that they would start to happen so quickly after beginning! It's quite the rush.
