      Talking LucidBrony's workbook

Hello, I'm Wyatt. I'm 17 years old, and well, I've been trying to have lucid dreams for a while now. My dreams are very strange and random, and you'd think that my brain would go "Hmm... a fat man throwing some dust onto you to make you into a female stripper? Something seems SLIGHTLY off here." but no, it just goes with the flow, which is often what I do in real life. Anyway, here is what I'm already doing to try to help achieve a DILD:

      1. I do reality checks whenever something weird happens (I've been doing this for months)
      2. I started to keep a dream journal (I had one a few months ago, but school messed up my sleep schedule real bad, and I wasn't remembering any dreams, so I gave it up for a while)
      3. Take afternoon naps (I seem to be more likely to get lucid if I take an afternoon nap rather then actual full on sleep)

And well... that's it really. Oh and why do I want to lucid dream? Well, I have some personal issues in my life, and I think maybe that my subconscious can help me sort them out, and it seems lucid dreams are the best means to access you subconscious and talk to it directly. Anyway, if you need any more info from me, just ask, I'll be happy to provide it.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the attached thumbnails... I forgot I was gonna say this as well. Anyway, when I was a kid, I would sometimes be able to choose what dream I wanted to have. And when I did get the choice, some pictures would appear in front of me. I could swipe them left to right, and look at more dream choices. When I found the one I wanted, I simply stepped into it, and dreamed. Like I said before, if you need anymore info, just ask and I will provide.

For our minds to realize something is strange, we need more awareness. otherwise, no matter what happens, we take it as normal.
You can try reading these articles:

      self awareness (sageous)
      All day awareness

Dream journal is great, keep that up.
Reality checks - they work the best if you put some emotions into them. And they usually don't get you lucid by themselves. Try and add an awareness question. Then RC and mantra. You will find it all in this article:
      Collection of techniques for DILD.

Tha't pretty much one of the types of entry into WILD. Did you ever WILD?

So sometimes you get these images, that evolve into dreams and you see them, because your mind is still awake. Then you can enter a LD through them.

If you interested to learn more about WILD, here is a tutorial (sageous). The article about self-awareness I linked above is part of this tutorial. The whole thing is great for DILDs as well. I recommend reading it.

Ok, read up and please post your questions and keep me posted about your DILD progress. Happy dreams

I'll answer your question first: Most likely as a child I have WILD a few times, however I don't remember if I was lucid in those dreams (they were pretty awesome though, one I was riding on a dinos back while rampaging across my neighborhood xD). However, I havn't had this happen since I was 7 I think.

Anyway, I read all of the articles you've posted, lengthy but very interesting. The instructions they gave you were very clear, so I don't really have any questions. Well, except for one... for the past 4 years I've been taking an ADD medicine called vyacance. This medicine, helps increase my focus, and helps my mind not to wonder off. For the past... eh... 6 months? I've gone off of it, to see if I could do without it... but I can't, so tomorrow I'll be going back on it. Here is my question: do you think this medicine could possibly help with ADA? I know it can help with lucid dreaming, because if I try to take a nap while the effects are still going, it will cause me sleep paraysis when I wake up, which I have used to re-enter a dream, and had my longest lucid dream ever.

So, that is my question... oh and my DILD progress? Not much yet, though a strange dream... I can't remember a thing of it, and the only thing I wrote done in my DJ is "Something about stalking..."

I'm sorry, but I don't know if it helps with ADA. If it does, then good for you. If it doesn't, then you are in the same boat as rest of us. You will have to work on awareness.

I'm glad you liked the tutorials. Read as many treads and other tutorials as you can. It's the best motivator.

It's good to write in your DJ everything, even if all you remember is a word or two. DJ is the best tool to help you start remembering more of your dreams and more details from them. Good luck and keep me posted of your progress.

      Heh, okay ^^;;.

Anyway, my DILD progress: Not so good.

I havn't been able to start the ADA stuff yet because I havn't been getting enough sleep to really make it work, so I plan on starting it on Wednesday, 8:00 A.M (I put the time because that cements when I'm gonna do it in my head).

On top of that, I've been going through a dream recall dry spell. My past three journals:

#11 No dreams, but I expect dreams next nap! Lucid, vivid dreams, and memorable.
      #12 No dream recall
      #13 No dream recall

It's quite frustrating. I think it's happening because I'm being distracted in waking life with a research paper, which is putting a lot of stress on me as well. Also, I will try to have more time elapsed between future updates.

If you don't have time for ADA, just start with small things. Any time you think of it, look around and take in the details.

For the recall - check out the Collection... article I linked you above. You shouldn't write anything negative in DJ. If you write 'no recall", your mind will take it literaly and will think that that's what you want.

And don't worry, if your recall is otherwise good. Everybody gets a few days when we just don't remeber anything. We either wake up at the wrong time, too late after the dream is over, and by then is already lost in our dream memory. Happy dreams

Sorry... this is a really bad time in my life xD I have a lot of school work, a lot of issues at home, and other things to do.

However... I think I broke the dry spell... slightly. I did have a dream last night, and I would've remembered it too, but my mom kept saying 'Wyatt, get out of your bed!' and I was, kind of forced to get up. The weird thing is, yesterday I wrote in my DJ "Can't remember, but I will remember my dreams tonight." but of course, since I was interupted, I didn't. So all I wrote in my dream journal was 'I had a dream. It was about something' and that's all.

Anyway, until my life eases up a bit, I'll be focusing on schoolwork more and dreams less. I'll still try to integrate ADA into it, so at least I'll be getting some dream work done :p. I hope to get back soon, I really want to learn this skill...

I understand, life gets in a way of things sometimes

But good job writing in your DJ. The act of you thinking about dreams by itself is great help in getting your recall up. Just report back whenever you can. Good luck

Well I'm back... and looks like I gotta start over *sigh* I've been way off track since I've been gone. Been too busy to think about anything with lucid dreams... but now that it's all out of the way, I can begin again. Anyway, I have recorded some stuff into my dream journal, including a very disturbing nightmare. So I get to updating that... so... uhm... yeah xD.

Your recall should be back in no time if you keep up with your DJ. Happy dreams
