Perfect, so as soon as the vibrations start you can try visualizing the scene you want to arrive in. Sometimes you will only get something similar to what you imagined.
I'm definitely going to start trying this as soon as I notice any vibrations. I attempted this once about 2 weeks ago, in which I tried to visualize a windy field full of bright grass. I think I felt the wind a little bit, and the 'darkness' behind my eyelids began to brighten a little, but when I opened my dream eyes, I was still in my room. I'm also participating in the Dream Yoga class, and one of the lessons teaches advanced visualization to start the dream, so hopefully I'll be proficient in this in a couple of months of consistent effort.

Do you fly? When you end up in your room, instead of phasing through the wall have you tried to walk out the front door? You mentioned dream control difficulties...are there any that you have had some success with that you can build from?
I have flown before several times in my dreams (only around my house however, and I haven't been successful in leaving Earth while flying. It's like I'll reach a certain height, then everything fades to black and I wake up). I've tried walking through the door once...I was in a dream, and I tried setting strong intention that when I walk through my front door, I will be in a totally new location. As I approached my front door through the darkness, the door almost had like a glowing aura surrounding it, and I just knew I was going to be successful. Unfortunately, when I opened the door, I still found my front yard (but I do believe it was snowing). I guess I should also note that in 95% of my LDs, it's dark outside. I've tried to change night to day several times, but without any success.
And as far as success goes...I've flown, down some basic elemental control, and have shouted to my subconscious to 'show me something amazing!' with the result being large galaxies in the night sky. Other than that...not really lol. As you can see, I have a lot to work on.

Currently, I'm tweaking the mantras I'm using. I think I'm going to stick with "When I see my hands, I become skeptical" and "I wake up after every dream." I'm continuing with Daytime-Awareness exercises via the Dream Yoga class, and I believe yesterday I had 7-8 SAT moments. I remember having 5 dreams last night (interesting ones at that), but every time I sat and tried to recall them, I fell asleep in the middle of the process. Tonight, I'll record them in my DJ without fail.
