      Harklin's Workbook

Hello everyone! I am a 15 year old male wanting to lucid dream!

I am very new to lucid dreaming and this website, after about 3 days of research I decided it was time for me to try to get my own lucid dream! I literally started 3 days ago, with reality checks, a dream journal(In a note book), and trying to raise my awareness. No luck yet, I am not expecting anything soon, but I do hope for one soon ! I mainly joined this class for a lot of motivation and advice to help me! I have read most tutorials on this website for every method and found that this is the one for me! I get on average 2 dream a night that I can remember really vividly or just enough to know what it was about!

I hope to get an LD very soon and hope to keep myself motivated!

      Thank you for your time

Welcome Harklin! Those 3 things that you mentioned "reality checks, a dream journal(In a note book), and trying to raise my awareness" are a great start! Try to find a way to keep them up at your own pace so that you don't get tired of doing any of them. I also took a quick peek at your other post and that possibly could be counted as a lucid dream where you were lucid for a few moments and then just got caught up in the dream and lost lucidity...which is the way they can often be early on. If you remind yourself that you are dreaming, rubbing your hands together and repeating that you are dreaming you can maintain your awareness in the dream longer. A lot of my early lucid dreams were like yours with some beautiful female and a strong connection to them and I just knew I was dreaming(they still are, haha). Here is a nice thread where a lot of good advice was given for beginners: Link>>http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...-all-over.html

Let me know if you have any questions

Thanks, I will definitely look into that forum. Yeah I just didn't want too a reality check at that moment! I wish I had more will power to do so instead of just a normal dream, but at the time in a dream what ever happens just goes . What I have found to be really useful is that I naturally WBTB after every dream! which is nice so it is really easy for me to remember it on the spot. hopefully I will snag an LD soon, which now seems closer than it was. I used to think "How in the world will RCs and awareness seep into my dreams?" but now I get it, that they just do! which is nice to figure out, now that you could technically say that I do have an LD! so far so good, no questions for now!

Ok, let me know if/when you do have questions. For now, I will add that it is an advantage to have that naturally! Usually to turn a WBTB into a lucid dream it helps to be after ~4.5 hours(could be a little different for you) of sleeping and getting up and activating the mind a little and perhaps going back to sleep saying a mantra. If you find yourself coming out of the middle of a dream back into your bed you may be able to DEILD right back into the dream lucid if your REM cycle is not over.

Ok, I will definitely try that if that happens! So in this thread we just post questions right or what else? I didn't get to much info out of the starter guide for it.

Sure, you can definitely use it as a place to ask questions. You can also use this space to log what you are trying, what works and what doesn't work so that you can refer back to it...you would be surprised how easy it is to forget doing something that was working for you, so logging it here can be a reminder.

      Hi Harklin, welcome!

fogelbise gave you some excellent answers. All I'm gonna add, that you should not hope, but expect. Better yet, you should KNOW, that you are going to have a LD tonight. Think of it as a done deal.

"Hope" is something in the future. Our mind interprets it as anytime, just not now. But if you set your intent and you know, your mind interprets it as "now", and it will oblige at the earliest convenience. Which could be tonight.

      Good luck and happy dreams

Ok from now on I will expect to have an LD! So anyway last night was a stormy night here and so I woke up often to thundering and lightning. One time I woke up barely awake and realized I was in Sleep Paralysis and I got back into a dream knowing I was in a dream so therefore I was Lucid. I tried to do a reality check but it was like slow motion and really "Choppy" As in it was going frame by frame and it would jump for place to place. It was very Weird and as I lost lucidity I rubbed my hands got a few more seconds and then I woke up. My heart was racing because this dream was carried on from a nightmare and that is part of the reason I woke. I need to work on Dream Control and keeping it longer. Any tips for what I could have done to Achieve this?

      Congrats on your lucid!

It's not as much about control, as it is about stabilization. You should stay calm and fully integrate with the dream, before you go off doing things.

You can touch anything thats around you and feel the texture, temperature..., smell the air, look around, fully anchor yourself in the dreamscape. It will get easier, no worries. happy dreams

Thank you! what was weird about the dream was that is was a I didn't even mean too do a WILD but it just happened! What I also realized was that is was also a false awakening, which did confuse me a lot but I new I was dreaming because I was just woke up earlier and everything around had changed but I was still in the same place. So i thought to my self that I'm dreaming and then when I did eventually wake up I did a reality check and it all came back to me.

Congrats Harklin! It sounds like you are only 2 weeks in and you already have 2 lucid dreams! Nice work! If you can remind yourself to reality check every time you seemingly wake up/get up/find youself in a bedroom setting, you can start to catch many false awakenings and become lucid. You can go anywhere and do anything from a false awakening if you set your mind to it, don't believe anything to the contrary...if you see any posts about people having trouble doing x, y or z in a lucid dream, just know that you do not have to have trouble with those things...it is all in your mind and you decide.

Ok, so it has been a little bit, but last night I had what I would call a true lucid dream for me. I do not remember the first part of the dream but I do remember saying "Hey, you know what? I'm Dreaming!" and then for what ever reason I gained full lucidity. I then proceeded to do a reality check to confirm I was dreaming. The dream continues to me and my family driving and I make the car go way faster than possible and my mom who is driving takes is surprisingly well. After that I "Spawned" one of my good friends by using a technique I read on the forums. Soon after that I tried to fly but fail. The dream started to fade, so instead of saving it I let myself wake. I did an RC and went back to bed.

This was truly amazing and like no other! After giving up for a while and this happening with out trying I starts up the fire again to get lucid!

Congrats! A number of people report getting lucid when the give up or stop trying so hard...your LD could have been for a different reason though. If you can figure out anything that you did differently leading up to it, you may be able to replicate the result!
