      Smile YaYa's workbook

Hi everyone! i am 23 years old and i have practiced LD for 14 months. well...my practice schedule in this time period was meditation (to apply WILD technique properly), self affirmation using different types of hypnosis specially before bed (for MILD), SSILD, indirect techniques, and lately ADA (all day awareness) to perform DILD technique. i only have 4 LDs (using MILD and SSILD) and 2 WILD (which were only some seconds).
well, it's for a week that i am practicing ADA (KingYoshi's thread) and i have very long and vivid dreams these days. by the way, i am energized and relax during the day thanks to this technique.
i am focusing on my hearing ability because if i can't listen to different things at once how can i focus on all my senses which receive many information at once. i am a bit slow but i know i can make it! specially with your help!!!
      thanks for reading!

well... i have problem to still my mind and even if i do that, i fall sleep after 1 minuets or so....so WILD is not yet for me.
about my ADA...AMm, i can't focus on my hearing sense so long, but i do it every time i remember ( 10 times for 30 seconds every hour).

the bad thing about meditation is that when i want to focus my thought on a single thing, i suddenly remember all my negative emotions and i can't let them go and i just tense more and i act in a way as if they are occurring right now and i have to do something to stop that bad event which caused me bad feelings!!!
the good thing about ADA is reverse... it meant that when i do this method even for a while, i forget everything about my past and future and i really live in present and that is great...i think meditation and ADA are really different in this way.

Welcome to the DILD workbooks YaYa!

Just double checking...you aren't doing SSILD before bed, correct?

      Good (on both items)!

I will try to help. Perhaps try one sense at a time and then one thing at a time within each sense. With your hearing example, maybe just focus on each individual sound until you start to notice several at once which may take some practice.

Sure, you can always go back to WILD attempts later. That being said, if you are falling asleep too quickly (during WBTB?) you likely just need to wake yourself up more perhaps writing in your DJ or doing some math. This would also apply to any SSILD attempts which can produce DILDs or WILDs.

the bad thing about meditation is that when i want to focus my thought on a single thing, i suddenly remember all my negative emotions and i can't let them go and i just tense more and i act in a way as if they are occurring right now and i have to do something to stop that bad event which caused me bad feelings!!!
I am not sure what to suggest here since the closest I have come to meditation so far is focusing on my breath to calm down and or visualizing my "happy place" when feeling stressed. I have also had meditation-like sessions while laying in bed on WILD attempts and successes. Either way, if you don't have someone skilled in meditation to advise you, you could try sticking to what is working for you for now (ADA).

the good thing about ADA is reverse... it meant that when i do this method even for a while, i forget everything about my past and future and i really live in present and that is great...
This seems to be a real positive for you! Living in the present is one of the things that many people seek when meditating I think. Since you are achieving this with your ADA work that is fantastic!

many thanks for your accurate suggestions! well... maybe i have a lot of Karma that meditation is hard for me...i have to let those feelings go but sometimes i interrupt them because i feel ashamed when i experience those bad feelings again...

4 months age i kept DJing and my dream recall got better but not much improvements....i remembered 2 or 3 blurry dreams some nights and other nights nearly nothing! I didn't write down my dreams any more because it was a big chore!
but as i am practicing ADA, i remember 4 to 6 dreams every night with full clarity....i even remember the color of my dream characters' dress as i am writing my post! and i even don't need to keep DJing. i do WBTS and after waking up i try to remember my dreams! I think in my case, ADA doesn't need DJing.

well, according to your advise, i am going to only listen to one sound all the time! maybe as you said, i have to forget WILD for now until i get better at meditating...it is better to devote my life to one technique that seems to work for me (ADA)!

Your success with ADA is very encouraging. I would suggest that you log your progress in here and if you have any questions you can also post them in here. How bad could your karma be at 23...though what could I possibly know. I have to wonder if you are just being too hard on yourself.

oh thanks! maybe it is the first method which is giving me permanent results. i remember 4 vivid & detailed dreams (using WBTS) and in one them i dream that i am lucid but i wasn't directly lucid! i was painting and the marker had a strange color (bloody). then i knew i was dreaming but i didn't control everything. then i flied in my home! i wanted to jump out of the window but i thought what if i am awake?

i only listened to one sound yesterday and the duration of my ADA increased per hour. I think even this little effort has gave me significant results compared to other hard methods for lucid dreaming.
yes, that sounds odd that i have a lot of karma in this age! for example when i am meditating i remember a memory that i was slipped and fell on the ground so i start to feel shame and i begin sweating and my breathing rate increases. so i think about it to cover its annoying effects. because as i stay without any judgment, these annoying feelings increase. of course if i let this memory pass and the negative emotions to show themselves i finally because free but sometimes i can't..... maybe as you said, i am too hard in meditating!
so i am going to release these negative emotions while attempting ADA which is easier for me! because if they are too bothering i can switch my mind immediately to another sound source before i stuck!

This sounds promising! Nice work! If you can remind yourself (or practice during the day that you will remind yourself in these lucid moments) of your true condition which is sleeping in bed and dreaming up this world that you see in your dreams, then you could raise your awareness up to "directly lucid" as you called it. Sometimes the awareness is just not high enough to spark the memory to remind yourself of this, but either way, you seem to be on the right track!

well yes...my awareness is not yet that high to recognize my real state in dreams as i am not lucid full time in my daily life. listening to one sound is becoming a second nature in me and i have listened to more sound sources since yesterday. Last night i had a long dream. i think as my awareness is increasing, my dreams are less fragmented and they become longer. I was in a museum and i checked every parts of the building with full details. I told to myself:" well, i should look at everywhere carefully (ADA practice) to become lucid tonight". so I didn't know that i was dreaming and i was waiting for the night to have a LD chance! LOL but practice will make perfect.

Oh I am updating after a long time.....actually I was trying different methods in this time but all of them just give me super vivid dreams not an LD!
I have lost my interest in LD as I have found out it is just not real and it's just an imagination of my own mind.
I thought I could progress spiritually by having LD but how a fabricated thing can give me insight?even in my last LD after I became lucid, I Said to myself how fruitless is that and I came back to my body and I slept intentionally.
I meditate a lot and my mind Is less distracted but I easily fall sleep while attempting WILD.
Does LD had spiritual effects on your life? And can a person meet REAL spiritual masters in LD?

      Hi,

Your ADA attempts resulted in very vivid dreams yet they were not lucid
The reason behind that i belive is the lack of the very core part in ADA Technique
ADA is creating a mindful habit of constantly questioning or checking your reality throught the day. ~Your making your whole life a big reality check~

I'il try to provide some example of person who could practice awareness yet not become lucid:
-Somewhere in the China a great master of awareness lives
-He's been practicing ADA since age of five.
-Being aware of environment is second nature to him
-Yet he's not being lucid in most of dreams. But why?
-Because he's practicing ADA for mere Awareness
-During his ADA routine he's not questioning his reality, looking for any weird or when analysing looking for weird, impossible or paranormal stuff to check if he's dreaming or not.

My first technique induced lucid dream was result of ADA Practice
I didn't know it was called ADA back then
Simply said most of time during few days i was constantly reality checking, analysing everything around me trying to find something not natural, weird, odd or impossible. So i could see whether i'm dreaming or not.

That's what i belive true ADA is

I suggest you reading this stuff relating to ADA:
      - Puffin's DILD Guide - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
      - http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...tml#post850577

And now about falling asleep when doing WILD:

The WILD is quite tricky technique
      There are three major steps:
      1. Falling Asleep
      2. Retaining Awareness

Falling Asleep is most important one
      - If you won't fall asleep then you will not dream and therefore not enter a lucid dream
Retaining Awareness is less important yet critical one for WILD
      - When your body turns sleep switch on you want to be conscious

I suggest you signing up for Sageous' WILD Class if you want
His class has everything nicely & smoothly explained

The stuff that i wrote here is mix of my personal experience and lucid dreaming material i've readed
So i guess there might be a few or in worst case lots of misleads

      Thanks MisakaMikoto!
I 100% agree with you! My ADA practices lacked a very essential core, that was paying attention to abnormalities during my waking life.
Actually I don't practice ADA anymore as long as there are easier techniques to gain lucidity!

I practice WILD as they usually lead to have DILD. So WILD techniques are kinds of DILD to me. The easiest and most effective method for me is alarm technique. It should be a kind of WILD but I mostly have DILD. There is one thing that I barely understand! About my mindset.
I should wish to fall sleep while attempting WILD or try to stay aware and awake? These are in contrast to each other!or at least I don't understand it!

Well WILD is delicate balance that i even myself barely understand
You need to keep your mind awake while your body is asleep
Sageous suggests repeating mantra that has special meaning to you plus constant self-awareness during WILD Dive
Which is great way i belive

Thought it can be troublesome to keep up constant self-awareness during wild without any mental preparations
That's why he gave us practicing self-awareness daily for few weeks in his WILD Class
So we could keep master self-awareness to the point in which we can do it by one small thought instead of constant questions flow
Doing self-awareness without preparation could lead to problems with falling asleep or at best result in lenghty wilds which could take up to one hour before we reach transition (And there's always chance that we can screw up transition part )

Oh thanks! Then only my body should be that relaxed to fall sleep but not my mind!
Looking at the white dots behind my eye lids for WILD attempts was great but I fall asleep. Maybe I am not that professional to do that yet. So I need a strong stimulation to not fall asleep but also remain relaxed like repeating a mantra as Sageou said to you. Then I try it for a while to see how it works! If it can linger the duration of my being awake while attempting WILD then it is a proper method for me.
Can I post my results in this section or I have to go to WILD section?
Maybe it is better to do my trial and errors here and then I move to another section!
