      Josh's Workbook

Hello, My name is Josh and I am 16 years old, Turn 17 in June.

To be quite fair with you, I do not know a lot about Lucid Dreaming. I know all ff the basic info and such but I am not expert like some of the members on this site. I have been interested in this for quite some time now and I think it's time to dedicated myself to it. I have chosen DILD because this one seems like the most easier out of all of them.

At the moment I am doing the following.

      Awareness
What I am doing is like every 20 minutes or so, I will stop and take a look at where I am, I will observe the room, I will try to believe that I am in a dream. I actually had a dream lastnight and had some awareness, I became aware of something in the dream that was not true and that it was true in waking life. It was infact, I was on my way to my dads house but then my awareness kicked in and then then I knew I didn't live with my dad and that I lived with a carer. I did not go lucid or anything though.

      DJ/Recall
I currently have a DJ and I would have to say my dream recall is quite impressive for a noobie.

      Reality Check
I will do this after the awareness exercise. I will ask myself if I am dreaming and then do a reality check. I will count how many fingers I have and I will try to poke my index finger through my hand.

Welcome to the workbooks Josh! It sounds like you were close in that dream. With that awareness up a little more you probably would have realized it was a dream.

Have you tried WBTB on nights that you can sleep in? Any questions so far?

      Thank you for the welcome!

I have not tried that, isn't that wake back to bed? or something similar?

      No questions as of now!

Sounds good. I prefer natural wakings by drinking enough water before bed instead of alarms for WBTB. Also, you may not want to try it as often if you have school or work the next day. When you wake in the middle of the night, it is also a great time to do dream recall for the night so far, even if just writing down a few keywords. This helps in a few different ways!

      Hello,

I am not sure I had a Lucid Dream lastnight.

I fell asleep on my bedroom floor round 3AM lol and woke up about 5 15 am and decided to jump in bed.

Suddenly, while asleep, I had the "knowing" feeling that I was dreaming. After this all I remember was hearing words related to Lucid dreaming. although, I was in no dream? It was all pitch black? and when I woke up it felt like I was awake the whole time I experienced this.

It's hard for me to explain, Sorry.

It sounds like you may have gotten semi-lucid or a low level lucid there. It could have been a false awakening where you got the dream feeling and may have had additional FA's after (they are often forgotten) which can add to the confusion. This is progress either way and a good sign that you could be fully lucid very soon! Good job!

I am note sure what induced this experience, was it because I done wbtb un-intentionally or because I have been doing some awareness/reality checks these past couple of days.

I would say a combination of the two helped but I bet that move from the floor into bed was the biggest factor. Are you sure you were actually sleeping on the floor...could that have been a dream?

You seem to expect a lucid every night, you'll have to be practicing a long time before you get to that stage.

p.s whats with the misleading sig...

These kind of dreams are often a good sign. Good luck on getting back to it and let us know if you have any questions.
