Unhappy Keep getting dreams within a dream :( please help

For two nights (Not together) I have dreamt while in a dream, unintentionally and subsequently become lucid in these 2nd dreams, not realising that the dream outside is also a dream...which has been rather annoying. I even check my hands in these dreams and realise I have e.g. 8 fingers and last night I tried to stabilise it by focusing on my hands. In these lucid dreams however I haven't been able to manipulate anything, failing if anything by trying to. Its like non lucid dream -> dream in there, lucid -> come out of dream -> back to non lucid dream

This is really annoying me. How do I FULLY realise I'm dreaming please?
      Thanks

i've only experienced this once, but it was rather annoying once i woke up and realized i could have been lucid dreaming the entire time (and not just the dream within the dream).

i know how confusing it can be too, i was totally convinced that the first dream was waking life, what was weirder was that the 2nd dream was a WILD, i even felt the vibrations and everything. best advice i can say is to try to do more reality checks (and a variety of them) during the day, so that hopefully one of them will work for you in the dream.

just my two cents, but i'd also like to hear if anyone else has advice for this. :E

These are called false awakenings. It's your mind's way of trying to trick you into thinking you've woken up because it doesn't want you to be lucid. To combat this, do a couple reality checks every time you think you've woken up.

It's a false awakening. It happens a lot to some people. Try doing a reality checks when you wakeup.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

      thank you.
Will try to do more RC's.
And does it count as a lucid dream or not, if one is lucid in the dream within a dream?
