      can you clone your self?

would it be possible to clone yourself in a dream?? or would have to take form in another body then try and find your self....? if you did want to clone yourself, how would you do it?

You can do ANYTHING in a dream if you try hard enough. You could do it either way; meaning you could actually will yourself to be cloned yourself, or you could take the body of the one you wish to clone yourself to.

I've only done this once while lucid, but many times while not lucid.

"If". You make an assertion that anything can be done in a dream, but then hedge your bets by blaming people for not having tried 'hard enough'. It is hard to argue against such hedges. it is alot like the Doctrine of Faith that has been used negatively -- everybody is blamed for not having enough faith to make these false religions true.

But regarding the simple assertion that anything can be done in a dream -- well, just check the Newbie Page and you will find a great many people who are running into some very real limitations.

Indeed, Philosophy in all of its branches has been plagued by Absolutists -- People who speak in terms of EVERYTHING, ANYTHING, ALL THINGS, INFINITY, ETERNITY. Yet, in the History of the World we have never once seen any Absolute demonstrated, except for the one Absolute which is hereby demonstrated, that is, that we have never seen even the first demonstration of an absolute. Absolutes are mathematical fictions, made up by philosophers but never found in Reality.

If everything else in the World has its limitations, there is every reason to suppose also that dreams also have their limitations.

I'd have to agree with you there Leo, this in mind, there is also every reason to suppose that these limitations can be imposed by the dreamer themselves.

Since no-one is without limitations, we can assume that all dreams do have limitations although not necessarily as concrete as a predefined set of rules but definately present in one form or another.

I think it is entirely possible to clone yourself in a dream...try to do it with a mirror...and then try to "will" your reflected self to be separate from you. I've actually had an encounter with another "me" before...twice actually. Both times were incredible and both were a result of an FA. So you could also try to struggle once you are in SP and you might have some sort of weird FA type thing like I did that resulted in the first one...the second one just sort of happened on its own and is a class by itself that's for sure.

These are some exerpts from those incidents where I talk about them in my Dream Journal:

Finally somehow I was standing in my room by my bed and I turned to look at my bed. I slowly walked up to see if anyone was there sleeping...and there I was!! I sat down on the bed and woke the other me up. She sat up and looked at me, sort of tired. I talked to her a little bit. I put my hand up b/c I said, I wonder if I can feel you. And when she put her hand up to mine it just went right through, like a ghost. It was really bizarre. Anyway I realized that she didn't know any more about lucid dreaming than I did (after all, she was me) so I figured I'd stop wasting my time and try to go outside and fly around.

My first instinct once I began lucid was to seek out my dream sharing target. I think this lucid came about as a result of an FA and I walked to my bedroom door and opened it with the intention of opening a door into Howetzer's dream. But instead there was a hallway with lots of people in it that I didn't know. I remember calling for him. But couldn't find anyone, it was dark and sort of blurry. Then I had another FA. This one was REALLY bizarre because I saw myself get out of bed and go to the door. It was like I was watching myself from my bed and I knew what the other me was doing. Frustrated I ran up to the other me, turned me around and slapped her (the other me) up against the door. I looked into her eyes...which were my eyes (THIS WAS REALL CREEPY) and I said...\"We WILL find Jason\" She looked back at me with this evil look in her eyes and smiled and then her face began to change.[/b]

I have an idea, I'll try to remember to do this next time I am lucid. If you see yourself in second or third person, try to cross your dream eyes temporarily and see if you can duplicate the image. It works fine in reality. I'm not sure if it will cause (or possibly fix) blurry images.

i've never done this before, but i suppose a good method would be to look in the mirror and try to work with it in becoming another individual and then force them out. just a thought.....

Curiosity killed the cat but at least it didnt die an ignorant bastard
