Most realistic LD I've had but I had no control.

So my dream started off in my high school and i randomly noticed it was a dream but wasn't sure so i stepped out in the hall and said lucidity now and stabilized my dream and it worked well the dream lasted like 10 minutes. Next I tried to fly no luck I jumped around like a derp for 5 minutes and probably looked really dumb, and later found out i couldn't change much of anything it felt weird. This is odd because usually I have amazing control over my LD's and it was my most realistic yet.
Dreams are a part of reality, sadly too many people ignore this fact.

Maybe the realism played a part in your drop of control. It may have made you subconsciously doubt yourself when attempting to fly or anything like that, I know that kind of thing hinders me quite a bit when it comes to Dream Control. Maybe check out this class in the DV Academy to help you out.

Don't worry, dream characters can be full of gossip, but I doubt the news will leave the confides of your mind

On a more serious note, I've encountered this a lot.
There are a number of techniques you can use to overcome this and hopefully regain control. The one I've found particularly useful is to shout out "I'm dreaming, I am in control" it gives you this confidence because you're affirming to yourself that you literally have full control because you're in a dream. You'll know that you're simply struggling for silly reasons, and should get back into the game. Honestly though, a big aspect of lucid dreaming can just be....
It's kind of a dick. Sometimes you'll just refuse to do anything, and there isn't much you can do about it. We're always constantly improving, so there's nothing to worry about!

Are there levels of control and lucidity in a dream? In a few occasions I've found myself knowing that I'm dreaming but I can't actually control the dream. Or at least I don't feel in total control, sometimes like watching a movie but knowing that its a dream.

Absolutely. In fact control is a totally separate thing from lucidity. You can be lucid with no control, or sometimes you can have control in a totally non lucid dream. Lucidity itself is pretty much an on/off thing - you either know it's a dream or you don't, but awareness can vary greatly. Sometimes you know it's a dream but you think the people around you are real and you go along 100% with the dream plot, or sometimes you understand they're all just DCs and you can break away from the plot and go exploring or do whatever you want.
