Question I don't understand what happened

So last night, I had a moment of SA(sporadic awareness, as described in Puffins DILD Guide). I am using the SA Technique(SAT), as a few of you know. The moment alone was enough to make me lucid. However, my vision narrowed and blurred. I tried rubbing my hands together but it was very dark(also spinning did nothing) and I could turn the light in the bathroom on. I left the bathroom, enter the hallway, and used my mind to have lights. I saw better and tried again, still nothing. I pretty much lost control of the dream. Was this because I was waking up from that dream? Or am I simply that bad? Should this go on my lucid count?

Note that I used the bathroom after this dream, so I could have woken up with a purpose.

I am using SSILD(not on weekdays, but I'm experimenting with doing it before bed to effect dream vividness) and SAT alone.

Yeah, you could have been waking up, or maybe you weren't confident enough with stabilization/control or dream was too unstable already. And no, you are not bad, you had a lucid dream and it is good, every lucid is progress! Think positive and keep practicing, i am sure you will have more lucids and more longer ones! Definitely count, unless you have some kind of limits on your counter.

Thanks for the encouragement. This morning while typing this I was thinking, "WTF, why am I disowning this? I've been looking for progress, and here it is!!" I think I will celebrate

I've noticed that if I move too fast in dreams, turning my head quickly or jumping around corners too fast, some details don't manifest right away. It's like I get ahead of my brain's rendering power. Usually if I hold still for a second and give my vision a chance to draw everything in, it sorts out.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Count it! Unfortunately dreams can go this way sometimes but it doesn't mean you can't (just the opposite actually) this used to happen to me a lot before I found ways to stabilize that work for me... demanding stability and clarity and for "more vivid" has worked for me. (not at the same time though so its more effective -- start with stability)
