Spoiled brat mindset for dream control

Spoiled brats demand things and fully expect to receive them. They don't take "no" for an answer and persist relentlessly until the giver gives in.

This sounds like an ideal mindset to have for dream control. The only problem would be if you expected the subconscious to be stubborn or unable.

How do you expect the subconscious to be gullible and capable?

On paper this seems a good idea, but maybe not...

I for one would expect the unconscious to be a tolerant but responsible "parent" during your LD tantrums. In other words, sometimes you might get what you are screaming for, but generally your cries will fall on deaf DC ears.

Remember that your unconscious is you, and not an enabling parent or potentially gullible guardian of your dreams. Whatever it does reflects your actual mindset, which hopefully is not one of a spoiled toddler. So, just as you consciously know you are not sincerely presenting this tantrum, so too do you know it unconsciously. And, if you are able to develop a mindset that can "fool" your unconscious with a sincere tantrum, you very likely will have stepped away from a mindset that can get you lucid in the first place, because the emotion-clouded narcissism of spoiled brat tantrums tends to trump self-awareness every time.

So I think that if you respect your unconscious/your self with a sincere will rather than try to trick it with childish antics you will have much better results.

In my opinion, a big part of learning how to control your dreams is realising that there's no magical force called your subconscious which you are supposed to trick or manipulate in order to do whatever you want. You are the one who controls the dream, and nothing can take that power away. Your subconscious cannot suddenly demand that you obey it, you are above it as you can control it, although controlling it is not your goal. If I decided to throw a fireball, I wouldn't nicely ask my subconscious to form a fireball in my hand and let me throw it. I would do it myself, because I am the dreamer, the highest possible power inside my dreams.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is trying to trick your subconscious into doing stuff for you is like trying to trick your hand into tying your shoelaces. Eventually it might work, but why bother taking the long way around when you could claim the power by asserting who you are.

Good points guys! I've come to realize that this isn't the best idea. But that's okay, I just try something else.

Actually, last night in my lucid dream, I tried something different and told myself I'm going to be a dolphin whether I actually change or not. I transformed! I didn't check to see if it was a full transformation but it likely was.

I learned the root of my poor dream control is negative thinking. I think simply imagining something actually happening in the dream and not thinking about anything else helps with this. This way, I replace thoughts like, "I hope I transform into a dolphin" into "I'm a dolphin".
