      Very short lucid dreams

      Hi guys,

I started to practice lucid dreaming more than one year ago
I joined some Italian communities but there aren't many people interested in dreams here
This is my first post and I'm pretty excited to read from a lot of people interested in dreams

I'm facing a problem and I wanna get rid of it
I wake up once I realize I'm dreaming
I heard that's pretty common for a beginner but it happened more than 30-40 times to me
I also had 20 lucid dreams or so where I didn't wake up instantly, but they didn't last more than 5-10 seconds
I try to use stabilization techniques every time but it seems like nothing works for me

It makes me want to give up
During the last summer I had 1-2 lucid dreams per week,
I always put a big effort into it but this is becoming frustrating

I tried to take some pauses but nothing

I also read that the subconscious is not used to me being aware in the dream, but I don't know what to do about it

I use WBTB + ADA if it can help
      Any tips?

Hello jacket! Welcome to the dreamviews. Stabilization is part of dream control, and it needs to be done in creative manner. I would recommend checking out lots and lots of stabilization techniques and find one that makes sense to you.

A couple of questions, is there anything in particular that you try and do in the first ten seconds? Many people try to have sex as soon as they realize they are dreaming, thus often leads to waking (maybe because we tell people on the forum that it does, but maybe it just leads to waking).

I think that when you first start lucid dreaming, a lot of your lucids are near the end of your REM cycle, when you are becoming more aware and your body us starting to wake up. This makes it seem like the awareness is causing you to wake up, but it is probably the dream ending that is causing you awareness.

Here is a thread I made to help beginners with frustrations.

Hey Sensei, thank you for your answer!
Well once I realize I'm dreaming I try to touch stuff: walls, pavement

There's nothing in particular I try to do in the first 10 seconds aside touching stuff
Someone told me you're supposed to remember your intentions while you are awake and bring them into the dream,
so you'll have something to do
There's nothing I wanna do that much, my will to fly is not that strong, so I'm going for sex cause that's the only thing I think I'll be able to carry with me into the dream
      I never accomplished that though

" I think that when you first start lucid dreaming, a lot of your lucids are near the end of your REM cycle "
I was told that just one time, but I was like " well, I had like 10 dilds in the last 3 months, how's it possible I realize I'm dreaming always at the end of the Rem cycle? "
      But that makes sense now

I downloaded your mp3 audio file, I understand what you're saying and that's not bad at all (I don't understand some accents)

I'll keep working hard on it =)
