      Creating objects

In a short LD I had, I created objects by turning 180, stating the item I wanted, and turning around.

      Example:

I wanted an apple. I turned around and said "There's an apple behind me!" When I looked back there was a rotten apple on the ground.

I wanted a moonbelt to fly with. "I want a moonbelt that will let me fly, and it's behind me right now." Again, it was there, but not exactly how I imagined it. Instead of just a white belt-ish thing, it was white with a joystick. At this point the lucidity stopped and my subconsious took over again.

I think this method works, but not all the time. Is there a different way to get things I want? Or do I just have to really imagine it? And can I create objects in plain view?

It might be just easier to imagine the smaller objects in your hand then look at your hand to find they're there, or with that belt, just wish the belt to be on your waist, look down, and there it should be! I spose you could think up some way of generating things right before your eyes, but it'd have to be something like a cartoon style *BING* effect or something, rather than literally appearing.

Maybe you could imagine a *FLASH* shortly blinding you each time you generate something infront, just so your brain can generate it easier :3

What about a "poof"? Like the object appears in a burst of smoke?

Yep, anything like that, aslong as it distracts you, or obscures visual contact with the place you want it to appear!

I've managed to make things appear infront of me without having to distract myself first, but they've been very 2D, and required time to take actual form, its all a case of knowing something will be there, and simply imagining it being there...at least its that way for me

They way I create objects from nothing is to think of the object in my mind, while staring at the area where I want the object to appear I think about it. While doing this, try to imagine how the object was created or with what tools, a chair for example, you would think of nails, sandpaper, hammer, chisel, ect. After a moment you should start to see the object appear, within moments it would have taken solid form.

Heh, I too have been capable of shaping objects out of 3d.

Whenever I want to ''create'' an object out of thin air, I just turn into a totally ''emotion-less'' and passive state, then the object I want just comes out of thin-air (or from the ground). It's pretty hard to master for most, but it's cool when you can just go THINK "I want this" *Plop* "Giant Mecha appeared out of nowhere".
Yes you read it right, THINK, don't shout. that's how I do it.

Though if you can't master it, ''imagining stuff behind you or behind stuff'' isn't that bad now is it? You still achieve what you want, even though it's true a ''side-path''.

Making stuff drop outta the sky would work almost as well, I'd assume, if you find that way too hard :3

once i tried to make appear a DC... (to have sex with )
but i couldn't obtain much more than a foggy transparent-blue shape

curious enough, that was exactly the same way my brain visualized myself sleeping in the bed in the only LD where i dreamt to see my body ( no obe bullshit, it wasn't even the right room).

I tried the 'through-the-floor, falling-from-sky' way last night! It worked rather well, I must say I was pleased!

It's a question of confidence. The more you are confident, the less "magicky" effects you need to confuse your common sense.

Just "knowing" things works really well.

eg. I was in my room. I saw my door, and I knew (in other words, was completely sure) that it led to an underground passage on mars. Being sure of that, I opened it - mars.

Same with things. If you are completely confident, if you know that if you open a drawer, you'll find what you are looking for - it will almost always work.

All these techniques sound cool! I can't wait to have another lucid and try them out!

I want them to appear in a little puff of smoke. One thing I also want to try is having a refrigerator fall from the sky and land on a little pillow.

I tried that one time in 2000, but all I got was Jun Kazama screaming in pain after the robot I created slammed her to the hard ground. Is it something wrong I'm creating that caused her to scream in pain after crashing on the ground?

In my first lucid after joining DV I had to create a sword to defend myself from an irritating cop
All I did was to tell to myself that I would find the sword in this building behind that window(or wtv). When I broke the window and looked down there was the sword and I knew that creating objects this way was quite easy.

I hope this helps if not don't listen to what it says

Best way is to ask a DC for whatever that it is you want. Simple if there are DC's around.

I've done it through out of thin air and by getting it out of my pocket, and it's SO much easier if you get it out of your pocket. Of course, the only thing I've made through thin air was a huge explosion. If you're determined to get it, though, you should be able to get it.

I fish in my pocket or, if the object is too big, scream for it. If that doesn't work (which it always has), I'd ask a DC.

Ok well, I can't stay asleep for more than about 30 seconds but i CAN make any object appear! yipee

First just stay calm but rush yourself if you know what i mean. for instance, I wanted a ninja shuriken so I reached into my pocket expecting to feel its presence and BAM. I have successfully obtained it.

DONT think: "oooh no, what if it isn't there? I can't do this in real life..." or "Ok i'll check, maybe it's there.."
Just grab it! I don't like that mindset in which you state: "It's my dream, i'll do whatever I want" Because it's almost as if you're daring fate to challenge that view!

Simply make whatever it is appear. and think nothing of it.

You materialized an explosion? That's so funny, I've never thought of doing that.
