Hi, When you get better at lucid dreaming do your lucid dreams last longer? Also I read something about people freezing time in there dreams to make them last alot longer, anyone experienced this or is it a lie? Finally, how long can dreams last at most (Not sure if its 90mins-100mins or not).

      Thanks

Well dream Length, it all depends on how calm you are inside your lucid dream. If you are calm the more likely the dream will last longer. If you have ever read the book EXPLORING THE WORLD OF LUCID DREAMING, it states that Dream Time (inside our dreams) is pretty much the same as waking life time.. so if you have a 10 minute dream, 10 mins probably past in reality.

Ah, it's easy for me to become lucid, but the part to keep calm always gets to me.

If I remind myself to be calm, my mind would just wander to get me excited without me stopping it.

      Really hate that part!

I once had a long dream all because I actually kept calm and cool.

Being calm is pretty much the only way. AND NOT REMINDING YOURSELF TO WAKE UP!

As people have already said, it depnds on how calm you are ect. Another thing to remember is the time varies from person to person as every one is different.

hmmmm my dreams are more like short clips from a tv show or movie. In other words, I don't really have any down time. Everything that happends is of specific interest. Like if I was to go to the fridge to get something to eat in my dream, I see myself at the fridge as soon as I decided to get something without the "walking to the fridge" in my dream. Then if I decided to cook something, I see myself eating it without the actual "making and preparing" it. so I guess my dreams are a fast forward version of reality or lack there of reality lol.

wow, I always thought that dreams in real time were really short, like a hour of dreaming is about a moment.

No, it's completely the opposite, at least for me. A minute in the real world = an hour in the dream world.

      Now here is Nowhere

I woke up this morning and got into bed. Went up to the roof and swam down the chimney to the mall. They had a special on meat so I poured some into a glass and watered the milkman. Then I drew myself home and found the fish had ate the cat the cat had ate the dog and the dog had been eaten by the mailman. Then I got out of bed and went back to sleep.

Good question! I have the same problem. However, I am to a point now that I can stay very calm. I still wake up very quickly. Sometimes it is because I remember my physical body and other times I just wake up for no reason. I found a neat trick though. Sometimes when I wake I try not to move and I just watch HI and think about the lucid dream I just had. Sometimes this alows me to enter into another dream and I usually become lucid again. But still my LD's are very short. Does anyone have any advise other than stay calm? And no spinning doesnt work for me either.

About freezing time. I have frozen time several times in an LD but it is hard to hold it. I can only do it for a few seconds and but then I can freeze it right back. I usualy have to do a guesture like waving my hand in a jedi fashion to get it to work. Funny, I never started that untill I watched Heroes for the first time. Maybe if I sqwint real hard like I am taking a crap it will stay frozen longer. LOL!
