the best technique for me was to say aloud in my LD " When I turn around (persons name) will be behind me". It sometimes takes a few tries but it usually works. But you have to really beleive the person or thing will be behind you |

I agree with you, that is a good idea writing down, and planning a meeting with a dc, i'm gonna try that and see how it goes, great idea! |

This works perfectly for me: I say, "I would like so-and-so to walk through the door," and immediately, he or she does. (Whether he or she then does what I want is another story, but getting the person to appear has not been a problem.) |
I'll add that sometimes the person does do exactly what I want; didn't mean to suggest that they never do. |
Something I haven't had a chance to try out yet, but instead of summoning somebody from nothing, it might be easier to transmute an existing DC into the person you want to summon. Concentrate on characteristics they have in common with your intended target. |
try walking through the crowd of people and searching for them there. also call out to them. maybe they'll answer you. |
That's one of the main methods I use. However, there was one time that the personality of the person of which I was transmuting didn't quite have the same personality of the person I had in mind. What I then did was that I visualized the current person's personality and then acting like a surgeon I dissected it and changed the properties of it's mind (I usually visualize smokey-substance since a mind is too abstract by itself). That usually fixes the problems for me. I haven't tried this, but maybe you can try to telepathically call out to the person you have in mind? Tell them you will meet up with them around the corner. Not only does your doubt decrease, but you might grow a little bit more attached to the DC, creating the possibility of disappearance less likely. When I mean call out to them, try to expect an answer. I'll try it out the next time I have a lucid dream. You can also try cooperating with your other DCs and ask them to help you construct a portal to literally summon the DC into existence in your dream. This one might sound a tad bit too difficult though. |

When I first started Lucid Dreaming, I really struggled with summoning people. |
