in my lucid the other night, i stared at my hands for like 30 seconds. someone on here said that doing that will stabilize it (now i'm reading you should also rub them together)... it kind of did this. so i went outside and it was nighttime and snowing. it's almost always snowing in my LD's, which sucks because i like warm weather. i "wished" for nice weather and the snow stopped. but it was still nighttime (and still cold, by the way). is there a way to change this? i know you can't change light levels, is it because of that? |

I find that there reallly aren't right and wrong ways to approach dream control. Basically, use your imagination and just try some things out. Some techniques may seem silly, but they just might work. Actually it's not that they "just might work," you need to remember that they WILL work. |

"If there was one thing the lucid dreaming ninja writer could not stand, it was used car salesmen."
You can change anything you want, you just have to want it and more importantly, honestly expect it. This can be hard, which is why people make up excuses for accepting things. Like, perhaps I can't expect a dream character to just vanish into thin air, but I can expect to find a magic wand in my pocket that will make a dream character disappear if I point it at him. |

I dont know if rubbing your hands helps stabalize dreams, but the feeling of movement does. But don't spin, it doesnt work well at all. Try swinging your arms violently, or jumping or running. |

1. I turn away from a window and imagine the sun rising; it usually rises right before my eyes, it's very amazing. |

Walking through doors always makes things go black for me, and when that happens I usually wake up. I'm sure I could work on that, but I use other methods for now. One good method for changing scenery is to start describing the desired scenery to yourself, using actual words. You have to think about the visual images to describe them, and thinking about them is what will take you there. Trying to just flat out think about the scenery will make you think too hard about thinking, and you will get frustrated and maybe wake up. Near effortlessness is the strategy to go with in lucids. The harder you strain, the more awake you are. Remember that your goal is to stay asleep while aware. |

Dreams are adventures with your thoughts.
Interestingly enough, last night was my first time to be able to change the scene and I did it twice. I flew high in the sky and started to do flips in the air while thinking of the next scene. I did this without any prior knowledge on how to do it but has this worked for anyone else? |
