      Control question

I did a search for this but I couldn't find anything.

I haven't had a lucid dream yet (I'm doing the WBTB method right now) but I'm a little confused as to how someone actually controls themselves during a dream.

If I wanted to...maybe jump on top of some high up guitar amp stacks, would the dream be real enough that I could actually do it like in real life? Or would I have to imagine that I did it?

I just don't want to risk losing lucidity when I finally attain it.

I can feel you dreaming of me...

Well when u first gain lucidy try to calm urself cause there is a high possibilty that when u realize that u r awake in a dream ull wake up in real life.

And about that jump. Ull just have to think about, where u wanna jump, it and try.

I mean, I know I have to imagine that it works or else it won't. What I meant was in order to jump, do I have to actually jump?

Like in real life. If I wanted to jump on to something I would make use of my leg muscles. Is that how it's done in dreams?

It could go either way. Usually I find that the more realistic an action is, the easier it is. In other words, I would find it easier to jump with the usual leg flex/extension than by some other means. Doesn't mean you can't also do it other ways: flying, floating, flipping, teleporting, etc.

In a dream it is just like reality. You have to actually jump in order to get on top of the stacked amps. You don't imagine yourself doing it although that can help you to get in idea of what you actually have to do. So your Lucid Dream is like reality and in most cases looks as clear or better than reality does.

Thanks, I was hoping it was like in real life.

Now I'm even more excited to have a LD (I didn't know I COULD be anymore excited :])

a dream can be dreamt in different perspectives. some people dream often in third perspective where they watch themselves or characters. most lucid dreams however will be in first perspective.

theres no thinking involved for a first perspective dream, anymore than you have to think 'walk' to walk in the waking world. you just 'do' just like you just do when you are awake

the only thing youd have to worry about is dream clarity. the fuzzier the dream is, the fuzzier the 'dream body' is, making movement fuzzy and less real. especially things like running or moving fast - its expected that fast and strong movements are at first difficult for the young dreamer. as you develop your dream clarity and make your environment more real, your movement will feel more real too - and eventually when you run you can even feel the ground or the wind rushing past you.

Yeah, LDs are great. Try flying, too.
