I fly quite a lot in my DILD's and it's usually as a response to being chased. Perhaps if you wanted to experience flying more regularly then you could use being chased as your trigger for lucidity. It's gotta be worth a shot right?

Congrats I flew in outer space during an LD once...it was a definite mind trip...viewing all the blackness and stars with no sound whatsoever in space yet viewing all these huge celestial bodies...it was a huge mind trip and freaked me out

I read on a tutorial that it is hard to stay lucid the higher you fly. Anyone else have that problem?

When I dream, theres always a
little girl playing in the dirt, that
turns to me and says "Why are
you here? .... Are you blind like
      me?"

      What I've found
      What I've known
Never shined to me what I've shown
      Never be
      Never free
I wish to see what might have been...

I fly just by jumping, but more like the "Incredible Hulk" kind of thing, because you still feel the force of gravity, so it's a bit like a roller coaster

I had a semi-lucid a few days ago... I jumped into the air really high, did it again, then to fly I sort of did the worm in midair...

Everything had faded to gray at that point, though, and it wasn't vivid at all.
I can be a Lucid Master... In my dreams.

when i fly, usually i just stand there and lift off the ground, like someone has a wire around my waist, or im a balloon or something. i find that if i jump in the air usually, i just fall back down, but because in real life i cant just rise into the air, i dont expect myself to fall to the ground.
when im in the air, i usually just fly like peter pan, as in just do watever. like i dont need to flap my wings or to fly superman style or anything, i just will myself moving and then i am.

flying in ld for me is really natural.
the moment i become lucid i start floating and flyin.
wat i really want to do is shoot fireballs. it never seems to work though.

CAN ANYONE SHOOT FIRE BALLS SUCCESSFULLY IN A LUCID?

      Flying

LOL, it has been so long since I have visited an LDing forum, and it is funny to me reading all of the stuff about how different people have different abilities for flying in their dreams. I love it.

It has been a long while since my last LD, but the past few nights I have been having TONS of crazy dreams since I'm using these Nicoderm CQ patches. I haven't gone lucid yet (really haven't tried... going to tonight...) but I had a dream or two last night that I was able to fly, just like it was a completely normal thing.

Usually when I'm lucid, and I try to fly, I do the superman thing, but it really helps if I imagine a kind of "thrust" pushing out of the bottom of my feet. Sometimes I just fly by kind of "swimming" through the air, but without actually... um... swimming. Like I can move through the air like a fish moves through water. I have a lot of control that way, but not nearly the same amount of speed and umph that I have when I do the superman.

I have tried the jetpack thing, which is similar to Superman for me, except that I find that I have ZERO ability to hover. I am either flying or falling.

I used to have to run and jump to fly when I was a little kid.

HAHA, last night in my dream, I was trying to show these people that I could fly, but naturally, it didn't work right. I would jump, and then apparently, the wind would blow me up about 200 feet, and carry me back down without any control. Kind of like being at a Wave Pool, if you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, these people disregarded the fact that I was getting carried up 200 feet into the air and they were not impressed.

LOL never tried fireballs. I have transformed into a dragon though. Didn't try blowing fire. You have given me a goal for tonight... Maybe I'll go for a triple play: Flying as a dragon, while shooting or spitting fireballs. Hardcore.

Has anyone else tried to transform into another creature in order to fly?

I had my first ludic last night after about a week of trying. My first thought was to fly. It worked perfectly, although I was inside so I was restricted. It didn't occurr to me to go outside, I was still amused with my friends reaction when I told her I was dreaming, hilarious. After that I tried going somewhere else but had a false awakening Still.. good start

It has taken a lot of practice, but I have been able to fly anyway I want to since the age of 7, when my mother first taught me the beginning steps of flying (my dream version of her). She told me that you lay on your back and look at the sky. And by lay, I don't mean on a surface. You should lean back until you don't have balance to stand and then just pick up your legs and float off. If you've never done it before, try not going above 10 feet and keep slow. You want to build control and learn how to stop, make turns, levitate in one specific place etc. Then you can get faster. I have gone into space and been to the moon before. I have the ability to go from 0 to thousands of miles an hour and stop instantly, or make right angle turns etc. like a UFO.

I can. I'll tell you how to do it. Traditional Japanese Chi-Gung exercises and meditation say that you can form a chi-ball, or energy ball by holding your hands about 6 inches apart and envision energy from your environment come from the ground and the air, (ground energy moves through the legs up the spine and out your forehead, or third eye. Air energy moves through the top of the head and out the third eye also.) and form a ball of energy in b/w your cupped hands, as though you are in Dragon Ball Z doing a Hamekame or whatever its called. I learned this practicing martial arts, so I took this idea to sleep w/ me one night and practiced it. It worked for me, so you could try it.

PS I didn't mean I learned to shoot fire in martial arts (duh), I learned how to make energy. To shoot it is up to you.

      Wink Flying

I jump or skip and run for a head start, then if I think about flying a short distance I will not go too far and land on my feet again. If I think of going farther, I won't land for quite a bit. Sometimes I just jump and find myself in a sitting position like on a chair and fly at the same time. When I picture myself landing or desire to land somewhere particular, I land gracefully.

I just put my arms out to the side and push down, which gets me slightly airborne, but I rarely get above 10 or 20 feet in altitude nowadays.

I have trouble flying myself. Sometimes I can do it with ease, and I can always jump as high as I want, but whenever I try to fly I just end up jumping real high from place to place.

Funny thing is that flying dosnt work for a rc for me anymore anyaway I usually just relize that there is no such thing as gravity in a dream and just go up down or sideways.

I haven't been very successful yet but this is what I've done so far:

      Swimming in the air
Pointing with my finger in the direction I wanted to fly: That was fun, though landing wasn't so nice because I could only go in four directions: straight up, left and right and straight down... ouch..
Get an object that can fly under my feet (or make it fly)
Flap my arms like a bird, though that went really slow.

It's really not very hard at all,

Think of it as a natural thing, just as easy to do as anything else in a lucid dream...

I really have always been able to fly in a lucid dream (and some non-lucids as well), just by wanting to at anytime or any type of landscape, usually by just jogging along and lifting off onto my stomach. I don't think about it, but just do it, when I get the urge.

If you beleive you can you should be able to as well.

I used to only be able to fly by pointing my hands straight up and flying like an airplane kinda.
I was reading this post yesterday and had a LD last night. I tryed to kinda just levitate off the ground instead and it worked. I also noticed that my LD lasted longer because i was hovering around instead of walking. I found it much easier to control than "superman style".

I was having some kind of competition last night, where we had to climb onto a large stone wall, do something inside, and then go back to the starting point just outside. My opponent was already down, but I was still up there. I jumped, but was going too slow. Then I changed into a fireball (Or I was shooting fire from my feet to accelerate) and blasted towards my target at high speed. I wasn't going up, but it was sort of flying.

Once I was in space and smashed the moon with earth and then threw both planets to the sun just for the heck of it. I think I teleported there though...
