controlling yourself- can this be done?

i was thinking of a mad thing- CAN U DISCONNECT YOUR SP IN LD? think about it- people can sleep walk, when thay do - the eyes are opened so if your in a LD you could open a screen and SEE your real self and control it from inside the dream!!
its really nuts but if a sleepwalker can ld- wont he be able to control it?
      what are your thoughts?

How does this differ from controlling yourself while awake?

madness is about right....I have no idea what your idea is??

That you would be in a dream.....but your body is moving? if so, thats daft.

Or are you proposing a HUD in dream, on top of real life vision?

      please clarify :S

....and just because your eyes are open when you sleepwalk doesnt mean you are seeing

I've thought of the same thing. Being able to stay in a dream while seeing a screen or a "picture in picture" of what your eyes are actually seeing. I can think of a host of reasons why this would be useful. A good example would be finding a particularly interesting scene in a dream and then painting it through the 'waking screen' in order to be able to look back and forth and compare to get it perfect. I also just think it would be exceedingly trippy to be in a dream looking at a screen of what your eyes are seeing and then waking up to the actual reality of it. It would feel like going in to a movie, and having it be actual reality.

As for whether it can be done or not, I have no idea. Lately I've had enough trouble becoming lucid and remembering it on a regular enough basis to accomplish even the simple things I want to do, let alone move up to the ground breaking stuff.

If you have you eyes open and you are sleepwalking then you still can't see anything.

This can't really be proven, as it would be impossible to tell whether you really were seeing both worlds at once or whether both where imagined.

I think this would be a dangerous thing, if it were possible. Especially if you forgot you were dreaming.

I still can't figure out how people are able to navigate when they sleepwalk...
if they can't see when they're sleepwalking, why wouldn't they fall, bump against a wall or something like that...

They remember the path of familiar settings unconsciously, probably.

You mean like having an out-of-body experience were you see yourself in a third person view. Maybe and maybe not I will have to try =]
