Hm, so you just think "I want a new location" and try or imagine the location first and then try it? |
|
Grant I haven't had too many LDs so far but with the ones I've had I have tried around 3 times to walk through a door and teleport a new location. So far I've merely only expected a new location on the other side of a door but I always wake up without fail. |

Yeah, I just assumed it'd work that way. I walk toward a door, imagine a different place beyond it and open it. |

You know passive control? Where there is a reason for your teleportation instead of just willing it to happen? I suppose the door method could be called passive control but it still requires alot of willing of things to happen which screws with alot of beggining dreamers. |

I like that idea of trying to tie it in with something that I'm fond of. Thinking about it now it seems like it could work very well. |

No problem. If you want a more advanced understanding of that general idea, you might want to give this tutorial from the late Billybob a read through, http://dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=38954. That and The Cusps Guide to Dream Control helped me out alot when I was starting. |

What I like to do is to open the closet where "I keep my teleportation pods", and type in the location (yes, I can read and stabalize what I typed). |

I was also going to suggest a form of teleportation you're familiar with, like Star Trek, or a Stargate, etc. This should theoretically work better because your subconscious is 'used' to some objects being able to teleport things. It's the shock of being teleported that's waking you up. |
|
I've had dreams where I fly down into the area of the earth I want to go to. It's kind of like how Google Earth looks, actually, except I can see the details of the locations immediately/ I don't have to zoom in. |

He had had appraoching a thousand LDs and it wasn't the same for him anymore. He'd rather spend his energy being extroverted to make his RL better. He kept saying that having good LDs was like eating a peanut and the real world was a snickers bar... |

you need to "believe" that it is on the other side of the door |
|
Ya even though I've gotten really good at controlling most powers/abilities within my dreams, I've been having some trouble with teleportation too for some reason. Alot of the times when I try a door it just continues my area (probably not believing it) or ill close my eyes and imagine a new place or spin around but it still won't alter the dreamscape. Just inconsistent I guess but I'm going to try more passive techniques I think that will help alot. |

This entire reality is SELF REFLECTION. You reflect your essence and project it onto the universe.
"Most conversations are just monologues with witnesses."
"Life represents the movement of knowledge across the spectrum of consciousness."
wow, i wasn't aware of that, thanks for the info. i've heard similar things happened to other people on DV. they just got too into lucid dreaming and put their real lives aside i guess, and found out that RL was much more important, so they pushed lucid dreaming aside altogether. i just try to balance the too to compliment each other (RL and LD). |

A method of teleportation that works well for me is to pretend you are where you want to be. |

A similar thing happened to me once. I wanted a zombie dream. Even though the setting was totally normal, I siad out loud to this kid, "Wow, did you notice how all the people in the world have suddenly turned into zombies? Not the weak kind but the kind that can run around trying to eat your brains and that are sprinting around that corner," (I pointed to a building obstructing my view,) "right now?" Sure enough, everything that I said happened. |

Funny thing, I have the same problem. When I'm trying to get somewhere, I do not use doors though. Instead, I simply imagine everything changing to the place I want to be. So far, I'd give this a success rate of 1/5. |
|
I too have had that happen before. What i've discovered is that if you expect something on the other side, itll be there, but your mind will de-stabilize from dream to merely active imagination, which works badly. However, using that same door, if you simply expect something different to be there, without knowing what it was, it is more probable that the subconscious will interpret it as such. |

This is important to me especially... I have a specific place that I can envision that I'd like to visit. First I tried the door thing with no luck. I'm too much of a logical person to really make that method work. Then I decided to try and use a "magic key" which, when I placed in a door, would make it lead to the place I want. |
