The 11 Most Unnecessary 'How To' Guides on the Web

I love the Cracked website. Here's the list.
      http://www.cracked.com/article_17018...es-on-web.html
      Check out number 6.

"Related Article You're Most Likely to View Next
"How to Have the Dreams You Want."
Might as well title this one: "How To Touch Many Boobies In Your Dreams."

I'm sure we have some experts would could write articles about that...

Anyway, at the first site of this article entry I found it a wee bit insulting, but then I realized... Dream Control guides are a bit useless. All u can do is try and follow someone's techniques and hope they work for u, most of what I learned of Dream Control came from my experiances...

Discuss if a guide to flying in ur dreams, or touching boobies in ur dreams, is unnessacary.

lol that list is funny, of course the tutorial is useless depending on which one you're referring to, the site of course made the choice of the worst method so I can't say anything to that, but if you get something well done that talks about LD, Dream Control and all that stuff, I say that guide isn't useless <.<

It was just saying that specific guide is useless. Watching peter pan over and over will not help you fly lol.

Why not? I think it may be able to. Depends on the person and how you approach it.

Actually, you have a point. Sometimes when I see a movie I also dream about it, if I think about the movie afterwards too. So, if I watched Peter Pan over and over and over, constantly thought of Peter Pan, lived and breathed thinking solely about Peter Pan... I might end up flying. But I think I'd rather just do a RC every now and then, become lucid, and then fly. I'm not too sure about jumping off a very high place to "get the feeling of flying" though. xD

Well you're talking about dream incubation, and that could work too. I was thinking more along the lines of dream control.

For example, how many people on this site do you think saw the "Do not try and bend the spoon- that's impossible. Instead, try and realize the truth." "What truth?" "There is no spoon. Only then will you realize that it is not the spoon that bends, it is yourself." And who ended up using that as a method of dream control? "This is a dream, there IS not gravity, it's just my mind I have to change. There IS no gravity. *soars into the sky*"

Same thing with Peter Pan. As a means of dream control, if you convince yourself that thinking of faith and trust and happy little thoughts will give you the power to fly, then it should. So, watching the movie and putting yourself into the mindframe that what you're watching is basically a training video on manipulating your dreams, you can have better dream control. At least, that's how it works for me.

Yeah. These could all actually work for people simply because of the placebo effect that is "I just watched a tutorial. If I follow the steps, it will work." The faith you have in the tutorial working gives you faith in your ability resulting in LDs

Which, in the long run, is all that matters when it comes to dream control.
