Lucid powers disappears when I needed them most

Normally I can control my lucids with ease. For example, the other day a ghost was chasing me, and I shot a lightball out of my hands with no problems at all but last night was different.

Last night I had a lucid dream. There was this dream character I have seen him in another dream attacking someone I was with. I wanted to stop him so I don't need to deal with him again, as this time I was lucid. I tried to shoot a fireball but nothing happened. I then remembered the tutorials of dream control I read about emotions, energy and such. I tried everything, focusing on the energy in my arms and out my hands, yelling, relaxing, focusing as hard as I could on the energy. I couldn't even fly this time and I even yelled gravity off. That usually does the trick if I can't fly. It's like my powers were drained. It just bothers me how I was powerless. I couldn't even change the scene.

I could of just ignored the guy but that other dream was terrible. I didn't want it to come back. The last dream I had was terrible.

      Thanks, hellohihello

My level of control usually differs in each dream, sometimes not for the better, though it's never been like this for me.

Did you do anything differently than normal while you were still awake? Different induction technique?

Being that dreams are created from experiences we go through in life, maybe this DC relates to something in the real world. Maybe his appearance and the loss of your powers are symbolic of something you've recently faced in waking life.

Youve gotta remember, if your not expecting it to work it wont. Fully expect it to work, and it WILL. I know its easier said than done, but youve gotta force yourself to fully believe it.

Probably has to do with how you inducid the lucid, change on mental state may do that. (or so says I)
      Or what others said.

Could be.. I was under a lot of pressure (not sure why) and I guess that's why it didn't work. I really wanted to end his presence in my dreams. I have been trying Mikes technique ( in research ) and have been lucid every morning for a few seconds, but gradually gets longer. Maybe that's it. I will continue to explore the situation.

I found that I have less control in more vivid dreams. also, the more aware I am the harder it is to do anything. was it a vivid dream? if not it could just be what you felt about the situation - like maybe you were thinking about hurting this guy too much and it distracted you... thats my guess.

I agree with tricky too. maybe you thought you couldn't really get rid of him so you were powerless?
