Dreaming is an illusion that the concious part of our brain enters whenever we go to sleep. The subconcious is the one who regulates what goes on during a dream in order to relay information our body feels that we need to know, every dream we have has a symbolic meaning the subconcious is trying to relate to us. Think of a Dream Guide as an easier way for your subconcious to relay information to you, think of this to yourself and tell yourself that is all you are trying to to by meeting this dream guide, and the subconcious will (probably) obey. The Dream guide can be a valuable source of information because even though it is a figment of our imagination, it is able to draw on information from past experiences that we might not even know happened through the subconcious, and it uses all of the information it gathers over the years to reach conclusions which we hear or see or read about in our dreams. Many people say they have multiple Dream Guides with different appearances and thoughts, but there is only one dream guide and all of the others we have seen in our dreams are just variations of our subconcious, this meaning that over time we will break down the variations we unknowingly place upon our dream guides and have one stable dream guide whom we can ask questions and talk to.

Hehe, thats a really good idea. Hire someone to be your 'Designated Dream Reminder'.
Sweet, I'll see if CLARiTY minds doing that next time I meet her. (ie. when I stop trying to make people explode in my dreams and do somthing else, but exploding people is so fun )[/b]
That's not such a new idea - it's something I tried with self hypnosis.
Didn't seem to work for me though... (the self hypnosis did, but never because of a dream character)

But this is a Dream guide, you never know, the results may be different.

As for other ideas, Mickeys_Elbow asked me about finding a dreamguide... so after racking my brain I came out with this.
      Maybe it'll spark ideas?

However I remember reading a method to meet your spirit guide in meditation *
I'd expect it to be much the same *

The method was to go to your house, in your mind, somewhere you feel comfortable and homey. *
Go in, and find a television, mirror, bed, whatever else is cool *
Then shout out loud that you want your dreamguide to visit you *
And expect a knock on the door. Go to the door, and meet them. Peek through the peephole if you want to feel safe. *

I think there was another method that involved walking through a forest along a path, until you find a clearing. *
In that clearing, you'll find your guide in the form of an animal. *

No idea if the above will help, thats all I could find in the cobwebs of my mind *

Everyone's been saying the same thing all along, just improvising on what was there.

Go somewhere and shout that you want them to show up, or turn a corner and expect them to be there etc.

I suppose you can't do much but improvise on what there is already, you could allways just wait for them to show up eventualy.

There has been quite a bit of discussion on this topic. Basically, there are two views on what a dream guide is:

      1) A dream guide is a spiritual being that visits you when you are dreaming.
      2) A dream guide is a personalization of your subconcious.

In either case, a dream guide is there to help you grow and develop in your dreaming and spiritual life.

I think I met mine once, but cannot be sure since it was an isolated incident about 3-4 months ago. She was an older woman, maybe around 50, quite slim with medium length hair. Her entire attitude was one of peace and power.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

wow, never heard of anything quite like that....is it possible that some people just don't have one? or what if we do and we don' want one. Why would one want to have one. My attitude towards this is such because i believe it's just apart of your subconsiousness.

Try asking random people if they know your dream guide and can show you where she/he is. Or just wander around aimlessly with saying I want to find my dream guide.

i'm sure, i finally found my dream guide. Never said a thing, but i am positive.
She's shown up twice and last time she gave me some advice. I didn't ask for any, but i thought about it, and she had a point. So i listened and it turned out great. Then a few days ago, i had wanted to be sure so i called for my dream guide and she came again. She told me somthing along the line of she's happy with how i'm doing and if i ever need help, just to ask.

My only problem with the whole DG thing is that i have a twisted personality (like i have two different mes that i show one at a time) would that mean i have two DGs, one for each side. Or does it mean that i'm just faking one side of my personality? I'm getting somewhat confused here.
Why is it that when i am holding all of the cards, everyone else decided to play chess?

Same or they act stupid or less inteligent. The other night I finally remembered to call my Dream Guide. When I gained control of myself in my dream, I was thinking "I know I have to call something. Oh yeah my dream guide." I called my Dream Guide a couple of times and nothing happened.

Perhaps there is no such thing as a Dream Guide explicity assigned to each person here. That is, when you call for your DG, you could get anything. Maybe they are like, just another train of thought in your mind that can be manifisted as a person or whatever else you'd like to see it as, and it helps you by giving you another way to look at things and stuff.

Nevermind. BUT IT WAS INTRESTING ANYWAY.
