Back when I was fascinated with finding my dream guide, I had this problem as well.

I haven't tried summoning in a while, but something that's worked for me is opening a door slightly and reaching inside; picture/think of the person who you want to be on the other side, and feel around for them. If you touch something, pull it out(it should be the person you imagined).

Having an outlet for lucid abilities is something that's helped me greatly. For this, I tend to use a wand. You could make up spells if that works for you, but I just borrow them from Harry Potter For example, there's a charm in the Harry Potter universe called 'Accio'; it's used for summoning things. I've never used it to bring forth a person, but it's worth a try. Just say Accio and follow it with whatever you're trying to summon (e.g., Accio Dreamguide).

I don't think he'll run away if you summon him; you can try talking to him then.

if you think he's gonna run odds are he's gonna run so my best advice would be just expect him to stay

when i found my dream guide it was fairly cool, i just asked a DC if he was my DG and he said yea, it was an interesting conversation to say the least

send him a letter explaining the situation... ??? could work, ya neva know

I went to sleep chanting "I will meet my dg" and was maybe trying to hard, because I fell asleep and was dreaming about falling asleep and dreaming.
Being a dream inside another dream I couldn't recall what my dreaming dream was about? Strange stuff, never had a dream in another before. Needles to say I didn't meet my dg again

I have more than one DG. I had a situation when I needed his help so I phoned him, he came to save me from a situation when I was trapped in my old school and there were guards everywhere and they wouldn't let me out.
He came after a while, the other DC seemed to ignore him, he looked at me with a look like "where have you gotten yourself into", he just stood there and I couldn't stop examinating him with my look.
He told me to follow him and I did...he ran up the stairs where there were less guards, it was more or less a safe place though and disappered. It seems to me that he isn't so glad to see me as I am him.
I thought I am the only one.
Why do you suppose they are sometimes so "cold" towards us?

Isnt DGs very wierd? I mean, they acts so strange!

Hmm, i havent tried finding my DG yet, i wanna be able to get better control over my dreams first.

Throw a net on him

you have to remember that your DG is part of you. resorting to methods of capture etc is unnecessary. just try and walk into him in your dreams. maybe open a door where you know he will be? if hes your DG he should find you.
